Mary Jane Nichols
SWEETWATER - Mary Jane Nichols, 80, died Sunday at a Lubbock hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Cemetery in Abilene with the Rev. Steve Birdwell officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nichols was born in Ovalo. She retired from Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital after 26 years and had been a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 32 years. She married C.B. Nichols in 1947 in Abilene; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Nichols, Diane Nichols and Deby Nichols, all of Lubbock; and one stepdaughter, Jo Smith of Livingston.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
The family will be at 4 Augusta in Abilene after services.

Naomi Black
MULESHOE - Naomi Black, 80, grandmother of some Abilene residents, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Murray and Stacy Conner officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Cemetery, directed by Ellis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Black was born in Crowell and moved to the Muleshoe area in 1929 from Roanoke. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and Muleshoe Moonlight Extension Club. She married Ralph Black in 1932 in Clovis, N.M.; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include eight sons, Bill Black of Plainview, Lyndol Black, Ronnie Black, Gaylon Black, Dean Black, Rex Black and Kim Black, all of Muleshoe, and Ricky Black of Lazbuddie; five daughters, Katherine McCain of Odessa, Maxine Rogers and Shirley Waggoner, both of Muleshoe, Karon Murray of Lubbock and Rita Morris of Arlington; two sisters, Ozell Cherry of Muleshoe and Dovie Easter of Palestine; two brothers, Elmo Owen of Muleshoe and Arrie Owen of Battle Mountain, Nev.; 34 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Iantha Nadine Armstrong Kreutzer
SANSON PARK - Iantha Nadine Armstrong Kreutzer, 82, died Friday at her home.
Services were held Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.
Mrs. Kreutzer graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1933 and lived in Texas most of her life. She retired after 20 years with the Air Force Exchange Service at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth. She married William Kenneth Kreutzer in 1933; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Lewis Kreutzer; one brother, Billy Armstrong Jr. of Cisco; three sisters, Lillie Louise Clark of White Settlement, Elizabeth Monique Greer of Roscoe and Peggy Nell Schubert of Grand Prairie; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, five nieces and five nephews.

Jackie Pearl Baker
ROCHESTER - Jackie Pearl Baker, 72, of Wichita Falls and formerly of Rochester, died Sunday at a Houston hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rochester Church of Christ with Owen Aiken officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Baker was born in Haskell County and moved to Wichita Falls from Rochester about 35 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married Charles Baker in 1950 in Weatherford; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one brother, W.D. Hudspeth of Waco; and six nieces and nephews.

Waynell Barham Everett
STEPHENVILLE - Waynell Barham Everett, 60, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rodger Weems and Ralph Starling officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Everett was born in Stephenville, where she lived all her life. She attended Tarleton State, Abilene Christian and Texas Christian universities and was a homemaker. She was a member of Graham Street Church of Christ, where she taught several years with the Kindercare Kindergarten program. She married Charlie Everett in 1959 in Stephenville.
Survivors include her husband, of Stephenville; one son, Kyle Everett of Stephenville; one daughter, Melissa Everett of Arlington; her parents, Wayne and Madylyn Barham of Stephenville; and one brother, John Barham of Fort Worth.
Memorials may be made to Graham Street Church of Christ Family Center.

Kevin Calvet Hall
BROWNWOOD - Kevin Calvet Hall, 35, of Dallas and formerly of Brownwood, died Monday at his home.
The body was cremated, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Hall was born in Brownwood and attended Brownwood High School, Abilene Christian University and Gary's Beauty College. He was an Army veteran, a hairdresser-beautician and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his parents, James Howard and Wilma O. Newsome Hall of Brownwood; three brothers, Howard Hall and James Hall, both of Brownwood, and Harry Hall of Houston; two sisters, Tamaria Smith and Kimberly Hall, both of Brownwood; one nephew and five nieces.

Harold Verlin 'Doc' Watson
BROWNWOOD - Harold Verlin "Doc" Watson, 68, of Lake Brownwood and formerly of Springfield, Va., died Monday at a local hospital.
The body will be cremated, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Watson was born in Matador and was retired from the U.S. Army and Civil Service and as a government contractor. He was active with Boy Scouts of America and was a computer scientist. He provided computer support to the Emergency Service Trauma Reporting System and worked to provide computer service to the fire department and Emergency Medical Service. He was a Baptist. He married Barbara Beth "Sam" Erixon in 1956 in Chicago, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, of Lake Brownwood; two sons, William C.D. Watson of Atlanta, Ga., and Patrick Watson of Virginia; one daughter, Paula Gene Adkins of Virginia; one brother, H. Eugene Watson of Alabama; three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Oleta Avants
HAMLIN - Oleta Avants, 73, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Watson officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Bangs Cemetery, Brown County, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Avants was born in Coleman County and attended rural Coleman County schools. She moved to Hamlin in 1951, where she was a nurse's aide for Holiday Lodge Nursing Home for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Rachel Sunday school class.
Survivors include three brothers, J.T. Avants of Santa Anna, Aaron Avants of May and Charlie Avants of Gouldbusk; three sisters, Belle Farris of Coleman, Elle Mae Watson of Silsbee and Annie McFarlin of Hamlin; and several nieces and nephews.

Jay Darwin 'J.D.' Osburn
COMANCHE - Jay Darwin "J.D." Osburn, 78, of the Beattie community died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Hoyt Scitern officiating. Burial will be in Comanche Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Osburn was born in the Stag Creek community and lived in Comanche County most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a peanut and cattle farmer. He was a member of the Southwestern Peanut Growers Association and Pearl Street Church of Christ. He married Alta Mae Owen in 1940 in Comanche.
Survivors include his wife; one son, James Osburn of Fort Worth; three daughters, Betty Clawson of Austin, Sharon Higgins of Sidney and Lafawn Wright of Grand Prairie; one half-brother, Rogers Osburn of Las Vegas, Nev.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
