Austin Casey
MAY - Austin L. Casey, 72, died Monday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Casey was born in Lamesa, where he worked as a reserve police officer for many years. He served with the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He married Doris Macon in 1979 in Waco and was a Mason. He was a past grand patriarch of the American Order of Oddfellows and received from the Oddfellows, the Grand Declaration of Chivalry in 1985. He also was a member of American Legion Post 470 and Crestview Baptist Church in Lamesa.
Survivors include his wife, of May; two sons, Larry Casey of Kissimmee, Fla., and Billy Briley Jr. of Midland; three daughters, Carolyn Parsons of Salt Lake City, Debra McQueen of Riverside, Wash., and Merri Jo Leonard of Midland; one brother, Walter Casey of Spain; and 12 grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to North Lake Brownwood Fire Department and Ambulance Service.

Antonia Garcia Lopez
COLORADO CITY - Antonia Garcia Lopez, 83, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Revs. Felix Silva and Sammy Contreras officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell County Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lopez was born in Smithville and moved to Colorado City in 1942. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was the widow of Rosalio T. Lopez, whom she married in 1933 in Bastrop County.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Lopez and Victoria Vanderpool, both of Colorado City; one son, R.T. Lopez Jr.; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Sam Grabin
STRAWN - Sam Grabin, 88, lifelong local resident, died Monday at his home.
Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Marion Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Grabin was born in Thurber and attended school in Strawn. He married Mildred Roach in 1943 in Fort Worth and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Lone Star Gas Co. and also was a private contractor for Gackle Oil Co. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Strawn; one daughter, JoAnn Stiffler of Arlington; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Hattie Lee Wade May
Hattie Lee Wade May, 85, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church with the Rev. James Zug officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. May was born in Texico, N.M., and graduated from a college in Amarillo. She moved to Abilene in the 1960s. She married Louis May in 1986 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She played the piano and organ in several nursing homes and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6873 Ladies Auxiliary and First Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, Wallace Wade of Dallas; two daughters, Karen Gambill of Meridian, Miss., and Rosalind Brinkley of Elgin; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Joseph William Johnson
Joseph William Johnson, 76, formerly of Abilene, died Monday at Yellowstone National Park.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with Richard Chastain officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Northview Cemetery in Winters.
Mr. Johnson was born in Abilene and grew up in Winters. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in China during World War II and worked as a theater projectionist in Dallas and Abilene for more than 40 years. He married Jean Gentry in 1976 in Garland and moved to Mission in 1982. He had spent the summers at Yellowstone National Park for eight years, and was a member of Masonic East Dallas Lodge 1200 and the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Mission and Yellowstone National Park; one daughter, Linda Dixon of Hawaii; one stepson, Manuel Gentry Jr. of Paris, Texas; three sisters, Fay Hecht, Francis Mayfield and Alice Edwards, all of Abilene; and one grandchild.
The family will be at the Royal Inn.

Albert Dobbins
Albert Dobbins, 92, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Little Bethel Baptist Church in La Grange with Roy Gentry officiating. Burial will be in Little Bethel Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Dobbins was born in La Grange and attended school in William Creek. He married Olevia Jackson in 1923 in La Grange and moved to Abilene in 1971 from Odessa. He worked for Treanor Equipment Co. before being employed for more than 23 years by Dr. Jack Ramsey. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Abilene and, while living in Odessa, was a deacon at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Lillie Gentry of Odessa; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Florentino Chavez
HAMLIN - Florentino N. Chavez, 57, died Tuesday at his home.
Mass will be said at 3 p.m. today in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Oscar DelRio officiating. Burial will be in Neinda Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Chavez was born in La Feria and moved to Hamlin in 1962 from Robstown. He married Rebecca Arce in 1979 in Anson and was a farmer. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; six stepsons, Jorge Arce of Elsa, Roel Arce of Anson, and Humberto Arce, Gerardo Arce, Andres Arce and Noe Arce, all of Hamlin; two sons, Florentino Chavez Jr. and Ernie Chavez; his mother, Cipriana Chavez of Hamlin; three brothers, Francisco Chavez of Caprock, and Silvano Chavez and Luciano Chavez, both of Hamlin; six sisters, Benigina Villanueva of Tuxedo, Consuelo Wall of Conley, Ga., Hermina Castillo and Christina Davila, both of Austin, Rosa Lozano of Anson and Silvia Garza of Abilene; and 14 grandchildren.

T.D. 'Dutch' Royall
EARLY - T.D. "Dutch" Royall, 80, of Early and Zephyr, died Tuesday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Horton and Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Zephyr Cemetery.
Mr. Royall was born in Moran and attended school in Brownwood, Albany and Bowsar. He moved to Brown County in the mid-1930s and married Sylvia Cleo Priest in 1939 in Brownwood. He served in the military as a master sergeant during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad for many years until retiring and was a member of Early Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Early; one son, Dwight Royall of Rockwall; one sister, Shirley Fitzgerald of Abilene; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Euwel Levi McKay
TAHOKA - Euwel Levi McKay, 71, formerly of Roby, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Central Baptist Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Wayne McKay officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Roby Cemetery with the Rev. Mickey Waggoner officiating, directed by White Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mr. McKay was born in Coalgate, Okla., and married Mary Ruth DePoyster in 1949 in Brownfield. He also formerly lived in Brownfield, Denver City and San Antonio.
Survivors include his wife, of Tahoka; one son, Euwel Dwayne McKay of Sylvester; one sister, Irene Meyer of Devine; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to South Park Hospital Memorial Fund in Lubbock.
