Annie Johnson Berny
EDINBURG - Annie A. Johnson Berny, a longtime North Alamo resident, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Edinburg Church of Christ with Billy Berny, Doug Berny and John Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, directed by Skinner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Berny was a member of Edinburg Church of Christ and North Alamo Progress Club.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; three daughters, Barbara Benson of Sharyland, Mary Rydl of Alamo and Dottie Fabian of McAllen; four sons, Charles Berny of Boerne, Wayne Berny of Corpus Christi, Billy Berny of Abilene and Doug Berny of San Antonio; three sisters, Addie Mae Bennett of Ovila, Clarice Covington of Tyler and Doreen Tarber of Houston; one brother, Kenward Johnson of Sinton; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Valley Christian Heritage School, 932 N. Alamo Road, Alamo TX 78516; the American Heart Association of the Rio Grande Valley; or the Edinburg Fire Department.

R.B. 'Mackie' Johnston
SWEETWATER - R.B. "Mackie" Johnston, 87, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Larry Fluitt officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery in Gustine.
Mr. Johnston was born in Comanche County and attended Tarleton State University. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Refinery for 20 years, Gulf Refinery for six years and for U.S. Gypsum Co. for 10 years. He was a rancher for 22 years and a member of Fourth and Elm Church of Christ. He married Vane Welch in 1932 and Jewell White in 1964; they preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherrie Nell Comer of Abilene; and one granddaughter.

Edward Taylor
BROWNWOOD - Edward Taylor, 81, who owned Modern Cleaners and Clothiers in Richland Springs for many years, died Sunday at a local hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Allen and Forrest McGregor and Jerry Ramirez officiating. Burial will be in Richland Springs Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Taylor was born in Brownwood, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Brownwood High School and attended Howard Payne University. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a retired postal employee and a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, usher and greeter. He married Fanora Mae McGregor in 1937 in Richland Springs; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne Faircloth of Brownwood; one son, Tommy Taylor of Abilene; one sister, Frances Laird of Brownwood; two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Erma Pounds Scholarship Fund, c/o Howard Payne University; Coggin Avenue Baptist Church; the American Heart/Stroke Association; or Howard Payne University.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-8 p.m. today.

Ina Williams
SANTA ANNA - Ina E. Williams, 86, of Plano died Saturday at a Plano hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Northside Church of Christ. Burial will be in Santa Anna Cemetery, directed by Santa Anna Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born in Madisonville and lived in Santa Anna most of her life. She was a retired sales clerk with Phillips Drug and a member of Northside Church of Christ. She married Fairy Williams in 1930 in Santa Anna; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Lowry of Plano; one brother, Byron McDonald of Lovington, N.M.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Dee Shillingburg
DUBLIN - Myrtle Dee Shillingburg, 101, died Sunday in Dublin.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hubert Austin officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Leach. Burial will be in Erath Gardens of Memory, directed by Harrell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shillingburg was born in the Oak Dale community and lived in Erath County all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and Dublin Garden Club. She was an honorary lifetime member of Methodist Women's Ministry Society. She married Ernest Clay Shillingburg in 1920 in the Bunyan community; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Ernest Clayton Shillingburg of Temple; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 630 Highland Ave., Dublin.

Harry DeGlopper
BROWNWOOD - Harry A. DeGlopper, 83, of Lake Brownwood, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Eastlawn Cemetery in Early with Mark Bryant officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. DeGlopper was born in Buffalo. He was a baker and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. He married Doris Byrd in 1993 in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; two daughters, Karen Geraci and Dianne DeGlopper, both of New York; two stepdaughters, Judy Harper and Susan Mills, both of Lubbock; seven grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Tom Hargrove
ROTAN - Tom Hargrove, 85, died Sunday at a Snyder hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Lanning and Larry Holder officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mr. Hargrove was born in Rotan and lived in the area all his life. He was a farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Marguerite Fields in 1936; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Hargrove of Galveston and Raford Hargrove of Rotan; one daughter, Rebecca McKinney of Clear Lake City; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James 'Jim' Williams
COLORADO CITY - James L. "Jim" Williams, 71, who owned Lone Wolf Arts and Crafts, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Westbrook Cemetery.
Mr. Williams was born in Denton County and had lived in Colorado City for 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Dailee Baker in 1990 in Andrews.
Survivors include his wife, of Colorado City; one daughter, Susan Evonne Costin of Houston; three sons, James Michael Williams of Brownwood, John Mark Williams of Denton and Brian Dale Williams of Buda; two stepsons, Don Thomas Cope of Orange and James Edward Cope of Loraine; three sisters, Doris Lewis of Sweetwater, Barbara Simpson of Midland and Patti Gandy of Brownwood; three brothers, Charles Oliver Williams, Walter Lynn Williams and Robert Wayland Williams, all of Midland; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Henry Thompson
STEPHENVILLE - Henry D. Thompson, 88, of Stephenville and formerly of Flagstaff, Ariz., died Friday at a Granbury nursing home.
Services were Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Whitehead officiating. Burial was in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born in Hood County and moved to Stephenville a year ago from Flagstaff, where he lived most of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator for Navajo Ordnance Depot in Belmont, Ariz. He was a Baptist and a member of Odd Fellows.
Survivors include two sons, Pal Thompson of Tolar and Doug Thompson of Stephenville; one brother, Jack Thompson of Lawton, Okla.; two sisters, Veta Tinnin of Flagstaff and Geneva Harris of Cleburne; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
