Martha Aerle Crow
CLYDE - Martha Aerle Crow, 71, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Joplin officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crow was born in Waco and moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1982. She graduated from Waco High School in 1943 and worked at Abilene State School as a nurse's aide for 10 years. She was a Baptist. She married John Eugene Crow in 1944 in Waco.
Survivors include her husband, of Clyde; two sons, John Crow Jr. of Hawley and James Crow of Kemp; one daughter, Linda Webb of Kaufman; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Joshua Steven Mansur
Joshua Steven Mansur, 19, of North Richland Hills and formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Buffalo Gap Cemetery with Alvin Jennings and Terry Groves officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Mansur was born in Abilene and attended Abilene High School and Keller High School. He moved to North Richland Hills in 1994 and worked as a printer and warehouseman at Star Bible Publications. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, J. Bruce and Sandi Mansur of Abilene; his mother, Susan McIntosh of North Richland Hills; one brother, Jason Mansur of North Richland Hills; one sister, Sabrina Mansur of North Richland Hills; two stepbrothers, Mark Klinger of Florida and Warren Klinger of Abilene; and four stepsisters, Lisa Cornett of California, Denise Franck of Idaho, and Melody Castro and Rachel Echard, both of Abilene.

Dennis Lynn Miller
Dennis Lynn Miller, 48, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. today in the Windsor Hotel Ballroom. Arrangements were made by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Miller was born in Harlan, Ky., and married Valerie Sokolowski in 1984. He worked as an independent contractor and moved to Abilene in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Dana Lee Miller and Joseph Wyatt Miller; two sisters, Jean Rickman of Severna Park, Md., and Vicky Wilson of Cleveland, Tenn.; and one aunt.

Eloise Puryear
WACO - Eloise Puryear, 76, mother of an Abilene resident, died Sunday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Oakwood Cemetery with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating, directed by Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home.
Ms. Puryear was born in Dripping Springs and lived in Meridian for many years. She moved to Waco in 1963 and was a retired nurse.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie Gale Felts of Waco and Edith JoAtchley of Athens; one son, Marvin James of Abilene; one sister and one brother; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

Lee Staggs
HAMILTON - Lee Staggs, 94, formerly of the Abilene area, died Tuesday in a Temple hospital after a six-week illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Riley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Beckling officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mr. Staggs was born in Cedar Gap in Taylor County and moved to Hamilton County in 1951 from Abilene. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widower of Leura Keen Staggs, whom he married in 1926 in Ovalo.
Survivors include four children, Laura Ashton of Fort Worth, and Jo Fulkerson, Juanita Ballard and Almeda Cox, all of Hamilton; one sister, Alice Barnes of Abilene; one foster brother, Charles Manley of Aurora, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

S.P. Pratt Cox
McCAULLEY - S.P. Pratt Cox, 85, named McCaulley's Homecoming King in 1996, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in McCaulley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Sedberry officiating. Burial will be in McCaulley Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home of Hamlin.
Mr. Cox was born in Golan in Jones County and was a lifelong resident of Jones and Fisher counties. He graduated from Golan High School and married Lura Ellen "Sam" Gibson in 1933 in Sylvester. He formerly worked for Celotex Corp. and also was a local union president of Celotex. He was a Sunday school superintendent at McCaulley United Methodist Church for 45 years.
Survivors include his wife, of McCaulley; two daughters, Patsy Sue Martin of Abilene and Donnie Nell Huff of Mead, Okla.; two sisters, Edna Brown of Colorado City and Jimmie Faye Lawlis of Hamlin; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene 79604; or a favorite charity.

Ray Smoot
RANGER - Ray Smoot, 75, died Monday in an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mesquite and Rusk Street Church of Christ with Shawn Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Smoot was born in Ranger and graduated from Ranger High School, Texas Wesleyan College and North Texas State University. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps' Company E, 28th Division in Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.
He married Frances Vick in in 1950 in Fort Worth, and was a teacher and coach for 35 years in the Carbon, Birdville, John T. White, Smithfield, Newark, Olden and Moran school districts. He was a past commander of the American Legion post in Moran, and was a past master of the Masonic lodges in Smithfield, Moran and Ranger, a 32nd degree Mason and a past area deputy grand master. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in New Boston, Shriner's Moslah Temple in Fort Worth, Scottish Rite, and Mesquite and Rusk Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Ranger; two daughters, Vicki Lea Smith of Muskeegan, Mich., and Ginny Wilson of Fort Worth; two brothers, William N. Smoot of Rising Star and A.C. Smoot of Grapeland; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Chrystine Davis
BROWNWOOD - Chrystine Davis, 81, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Adrian Coleman and the Rev. Jay Swoveland officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born in Grand Prairie and was a homemaker. She moved to Brownwood in 1945. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was the widow of Jim Corbett, whom she married in 1933 in Walters, Okla.; and Victor Davis, whom she married in 1972 in Kerrville.
Survivors include one daughter, Torrence Connaway of Brownwood; two sons, Noble Corbett of Lubbock and Dan Corbett of San Antonio; two sisters, Billye Souther and Reva Edwards, both of Graham; one brother, Gaylord Kirby of Graham; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Garrett
ROSCOE - Kenneth Garrett, 50, owner and operator of Kenneth Garrett Barber Shop since 1984, died Monday in a Sweetwater hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Roscoe Church of Christ with Phil Collard officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Garrett was born in Gorman and moved to Roscoe in 1950. He attended Tarleton State and Lubbock Christian universities and married Schylon Light in 1966 in Roscoe. He worked at Lone Star Industries for 12 years and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Roscoe; two daughters, Sabrina Bishop and Sharessa Garrett, both of Roscoe; his mother, Marie Garrett of Roscoe; two brothers, Don Garrett of Harlingen and Jerry Garrett of Midland; and one sister, Delores McKinnon of Rhome.
