Maurine White
MERKEL -- Maurine White, 85, lifelong area resident, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Merkel First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Ms. White was born in Merkel, where she graduated from high school in 1933, and worked as a network administrative engineer for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 33 years. She was the treasurer for Woodmen of the World for 45 years and was secretary of the Fortnightly Study Club. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Clara Walla of Merkel; and several nieces and nephews.

Harvey Hickman
BROWNWOOD -- Harvey Hickman, 84, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Pat McClatchy and Lloyd Hagemier officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Hickman was born in Callahan County and graduated from Coleman High School and Daniel Baker College. He ranched in Coleman and Brown County until 1951 when he moved to Brownwood. He married Mallie Kilgore-Giddens in 1951 and was a partner and manager of Hickman Brothers Mill until 1965. He worked as a land surveyor in Brown, Comanche and Mills counties for many years and also was elected to serve as Brown County surveyor for several terms. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; one daughter, Judy Smith of Allen; two brothers, W.R. Hickman Jr. and Charles Hickman, both of Coleman; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Texas State Technical College, Scholarship Fund, 305 Booker St., Brownwood 76801; or a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Elinor Sikes
BANGS -- Elinor Sikes, 85, lifelong Brown County resident, died Thursday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bangs First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bangs Cemetery, directed by Bangs Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sikes was born in Trickham and married Howard Sikes in 1933 in Bangs. She was a retired supervisor of Texas Lamp Co. and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Bangs; one son, Bob Sikes of Bangs; one daughter, Pat Spivey of Bangs; two brothers, Morris "Red" Miller of San Angelo and Roy Miller of Tacoma, Wash.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Henry Richard Carrell
Henry Richard Carrell, 76, of Ovalo, died Tuesday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in McBee Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Bell officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Carrell was born in Ozona and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad and in the oil field. He was the widower of Ida Bell Carrell.
Survivors include three sons, Clabourn D. Carrell of Kokomo, Ind., William R. Carrell of Guion and Archie A. Carrell of Lawn; one daughter, Jeanette L. Daniels of Abilene; three sisters, Edna Parrish of Cross Plains, Effie Jo Shepard of Odessa and Oneta Bell of Eula; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Bud Elof Rosenquist
STAMFORD - Bud Elof Rosenquist, 81, lifelong Jones County resident, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Bethel Lutheran Church in Ericksdahl with the Rev. Kent Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mr. Rosenquist was born in Ericksdahl, where he attended the Swenson School, and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a farmer. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Ericksdahl and was the widower of Margaret Hagemen Rosenquist, whom he married in 1941 in Haskell County.
Survivors include two sons, Doug Rosenquist of Abilene and Dean Rosenquist of Stamford; one sister, Lillie Lunn of Stamford; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Oda Lee Johnson
CLYDE - Oda Lee Johnson, 98, died Tuesday in a Baird nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Joplin officiating. Burial will be in Oplin Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Normangee and graduated from May High School. She earned a teaching certificate from Howard Payne University and taught school in Callahan and Brown counties. She moved to Clyde in 1952 from Oplin. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Wallace Johnson, whom she married in 1927 in Lawn.
Survivors include one son, Doyle Johnson of Clyde; one daughter, Mary Ruth McIntyre of Clyde; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

M.B. Folsom
WINGATE - M.B. Folsom, 83, died Tuesday in a Sweetwater hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Wingate Baptist Church with the Revs. Gayland Broadstreet and Charles Myers officiating. Burial will be in Wingate Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home of Winters.
Mr. Folsom was born in Shelby County near Prospect and served in the U.S. Army for seven years before retiring as a captain. He then moved to Wingate, where he was a farmer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Wingate Baptist Church and was the widower of Rubye Morrison Folsom, whom he married in 1941 in Ballinger.
Survivors include one son, Samuel B. Folsom of Winters; two daughters, Glenda McNeill of Winters and Delores "Dody" Barnes of Sweetwater; two brothers, Woodrow Folsom and Forrest Folsom, both of East Texas; five sisters, Ozzie Mae Matthews of Odessa, Gladys Parker of Center, Stella Palmer of Houston, Arbelle Reynolds of Shreveport, La., and Doris Jernigan of Bridge City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Charlie Crawford Coolbaugh
COMANCHE - Charlie Crawford Coolbaugh, 83, died Monday in a Dublin nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Coolbaugh was born in Whitney and was an oilfield and cotton gin worker in the Midland area for many years. He married Linnie Salter in 1950 and moved to the Comanche area in 1965 from Midland.
Survivors include his wife, of Comanche; two daughters, Paula Edmondson of Bonham and Lisa Bowers of Dublin; three sons, Charles Richard Coolbaugh and Jimmie Dale Coolbaugh, both of Comanche, and Robert Lynn Coolbaugh of Early; four sisters, Myrtle Cathey of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Toon of Waco, and Nora Smith and Bertha Sherman, both of Midland; and eight grandchildren.

Adele Engle
Adele Engle, 64, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest with the Rev. Scott Mayer officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange. The body will be cremated.
Mrs. Engle grew up in Carrazozo, N.M., and attended college in Scotts Bluff, Neb. She married Michael Engle in 1961 in Kansas City, Mo. She worked for a physician in Kansas City, Mo. for several years. She also lived for several years in Centerview, Mo. before moving to Abilene in 1982. She worked as a secretary for Associate General Contractors of America Inc. in Abilene. She was a member and past president of National Association of Women In Construction and was a member of Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one daughter, April Jennings of Abilene; one son, David Engle of Austin; one sister, Nancy Brethouur of Westminister, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Doris Lavada Fisher
Doris Lavada Fisher, 77, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Fisher was born in Waldrip and graduated from Lohn High School. She moved to Abilene in 1947 from Waldrip. She worked in food service for a total of 17 years at Crockett and Taylor Elementaries in Abilene before retiring in 1982. She was the widow of Alfred Lee "Red" Fisher, whom she married in 1945 in Rochelle. She married Graham Fitzpatrick in 1994 in Coleman and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; three sons, Lee Allan Fisher and Claude Lanny Fisher, both of Midland, and Larry Dale Fisher of Abilene; one brother, E.W. Frost of Waldrip; two sisters, Martha Fast of Brady and Nelda Frost of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
