Austin William Lawson
BROWNWOOD - Austin William Lawson, infant son of Jeremy LeRoy and Amelia Faith Pemberton Lawson of Brownwood, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Babyland at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with Jason Studdard officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Other survivors include his paternal grandparents, Willie Lawson and Lisa Willett, both of Brownwood; his maternal grandparents, Dean Pemberton of Lawn and Gail Denton of Early; and his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Tittsworth of Ennis, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Crawford of Brownwood, and Ben and Gracie Lawson of Brownwood.

Ola Marie McFaddin
GORDON - Ola Marie McFaddin, 82, lifelong local resident, died Wednesday in an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Gordon First Baptist Church with the Revs. Randy Smith and James Haynes officiating. Burial will be in New Gordon Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.
Mrs. McFaddin was born in Gordon, where she graduated from high school, and worked at the Pecan Plant and, later, Gordon First National Bank. She was a volunteer firefighter at Gordon and Lake Palo Pinto, and was a member of Gordon Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Methodist Women's Quilting Group and First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Robert O. "Dugan" McFaddin, whom she married in 1936 in Strawn.
Survivors include one son, Robert Don McFaddin of Carrollton; one daughter, Nancy Edwards of Milford; two sisters, Wanda Stallings and Ouida Holub, both of Gordon; two brothers, Stephen Rogers of Gordon and Raymond Rogers of Plano; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Grace 'Mom' Jay
SWEETWATER - Grace "Mom" Jay, 93, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene with the Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, directed by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jay was born in Ballinger and was a homemaker. She was a member of Book Review Club, American Business Women's Association and First Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Ed F. Jay, whom she married in 1921 in Ballinger.
Survivors include one daughter, Gracie Craig of Sweetwater; one son, Jimmy Jay of Noodle; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Henry Rose
ROWENA - Henry Rose, 89, died Friday in a Ballinger nursing home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger with Sonya Gravlee officiating. Burial will be in Protestant Cemetery.
Mr. Rose was born in Runnels County and was a farmer and rancher. He was a former director of the Concho County Farm Bureau. He was a member of Runnels County Farm Bureau and Zoar United Church of Christ in Rowena, and was the widower of Elda Lisso Rose, whom he married in 1939 in Rowena.
Survivors include one son, James Rose of Ballinger; one daughter, Linda Lane of Austin; one sister, Pauline Williams of Idaho; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Gail Marugg
STAMFORD - Gail Marugg, 52, died Friday at her home after a long illness.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in St. John's United Methodist Church with Dr. Phil McClendon officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery in Ericksdahl, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Marugg was born in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School and McMurry University. She married Carl Marugg in 1967 in Ericksdahl, and was a school teacher in Rule and farmer in the Stamford area. She owned and operated Gail's Hallmark Gift Shop in Stamford from 1983-88 and served as a hostess for the 1985 Texas Cowboy Reunion. She was a member of the Pierian Club, Pierian Past Presidents' Assembly and St. John's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Stamford; one daughter, Laurie Perez of Austin; one son, Michael Marugg of Stamford; her parents, John Ed and Evelyn Youngquist of Stamford; two sisters, Sheila Box of Burleson and Karen Duggan of Breckenridge; two grandchildren; and two aunts and one uncle.

Bitsie Maurine Green Ratto
BANGS - Bitsie Maurine Green Ratto, 82, died Friday in a Brownwood nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blanket Cemetery with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Mrs. Ratto was born in Sidney and lived most of her life in Brown County. She was a retired employee of Texas Feathers and Swift Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Ben Taylor Ratto, whom she married in 1937 in Blanket.
Survivors include three sons, Dale Cunningham of Killeen, Jimmy Ratto of Abilene and Bennie Ratto of Las Vegas, Nev.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Nona Lee Ezell
COLORADO CITY - Nona Lee Ezell, 84, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery.
Mrs. Ezell was born in Detroit, Texas, and moved to Colorado City in 1924. She was a retired nurse's aide and a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was the widow of Grady Ezell, whom she married in 1929 in Colorado City.
Survivors include two daughters, Francis Wood Duckworth of Midland and Martha Jo Salmon of Iowa Park; one son, William B. Ezell of Saginaw; one sister, Martha Smith of Colorado City; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Rose Ella Gresham
MUNDAY - Rose Ella Gresham, 89, died Friday at her daughter's home in Knox City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Munday First United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Sterling officiating. Burial will be in Goree Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gresham was born in Childress and was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Ivan Ben Gresham, whom she married in 1926 in Newlin, Texas.
Survivors include four daughters, Elloise Watson of Knox City, Euwanna McCarty and Lynda Brown, both of San Antonio, and Louise Williams of Belton, Mo.; three sisters, Dora L. Woodson and Mozelle Spruill, both of Amarillo, and Jennie B. Fowler of Hereford; one brother, Lewis Harper of Sudan; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Jacquelyn Waterbury
COLEMAN - Jacquelyn Waterbury, 38, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Coleman Cemetery with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Waterbury was born in Coleman and graduated from Mozelle High School. She married Randall Paul Waterbury in 1978 in Coleman and attended Concho Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Coleman; one son, Michael James Waterbury of Coleman; one daughter, Patty Waterbury of Coleman; her father, Harlan McHorse of Pearsall; two half-brothers, Russell McHorse and Lee McHorse, both of Coleman; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Ruth Witherspoon
ROTAN - Ruth W. Witherspoon, 77, Rotan school teacher for 43 years, died Monday in a Mount Pleasant hospital.
Graveside services were held Wednesday in Forrest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery near Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Mike Kessler officiating.
Mrs. Witherspoon was born in Newton County, Mo., and attended school in Diamond, Mo. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Missouri and taught school for a total of 50 years, with many years either as a first- or second-grade teacher. She was a Fisher County delegate to the Texas State Teachers Association state convention and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Pi Lambda Theta, American Association of University Women, TSTA, National Educators Association and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Witherspoon Sr. of Rotan; two sons, Dr. Robert G. Witherspoon Jr. of Mount Pleasant and John W. Witherspoon of Henderson; one brother, E. Winter of Diamond, Mo.; one sister, Lois Pace of Spokane, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
