Leonard Ray Cline
CISCO - Leonard Ray Cline, 59, died Tuesday near Cisco.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Moran Cemetery in Moran with the Rev. Jack Clack officiating, burial directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco.
Mr. Cline was born in Moran. He was a truck driver working in the oil and gas industry. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two brothers, Doran Cline of Putnam and William Cline of Clifton; two sisters, Alberta Dickerson of Abilene and LaVelle Speegle of Lancaster, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

Ivorene Barber
LUBBOCK - Ivorene Barber, 79, sister of an Abilene man, died Thursday at a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Sutton officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Midland with Dr. John Rasco officiating, directed by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mrs. Barber was born in Breckenridge and lived in Lubbock since 1993, moving there from Midland. She married Lewis E. Barber in 1935 in Tyler and he preceded her in death. She was a secretary for Mental Health Mental Retardation and a member of the Easter Star and the Lydia Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Barber of Lubbock; two sisters, Eula Lee Parsons of Albany and Merle Wilcox of Cisco; four brothers, Warren Chalker of Abilene, John Chalker of Breckenridge, Sam Chalker of Bastrop and Durwood Chalker of Dallas; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

William Arthur Fowler
William Arthur Fowler, 76, retired Lt. Col., died Tuesday as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident in Eastland.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southwest Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Woodard officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South.
Mr. Fowler was born in Birmingham, Ala., where he graduated from high school before entering military service. After a 33-year career in the U.S. Air Force, he retired in 1969. He was a B-52 command pilot. He moved to Abilene from Roswell, N.M., in 1964.
Mr. Fowler married Marjorie Stallworth in Chicago in 1943 and was a member of the Southwest Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Stallworth Fowler of Abilene; a son, the Rev. Art Fowler of Valdese, N.C.; two daughters Ann Myatt of Lynwood, Wash., and Bether Penney of Haltom City; a brother, Jack Fowler of Montgomery, Ala.; a sister, Ruth Sisson of Iowa, and six grandchildren.

Berta G. Wharton
Berta G. Wharton, 97, died Friday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Dallas with the Rev. Charles Savage officiating. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
Mrs. Wharton was born in Troup and was a graduate of Sweetwater High School. She was a longtime resident of Dallas and Arlington prior to moving to Abilene in 1980. She was the widow of Dave Wharton, whom she married in 1922. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Marie Gordon of Abilene and Edith Jolly of Alma, Ark.; two sons, David Wharton of Nashville, Tenn., and Donald Wharton of Abilene; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Billie Faye Beskow
EASTLAND - Billie Faye Beskow, 69, died Thursday at an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Eastland City Cemetery with the Rev. Haston Brewer officiating, directed by Edward Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beskow was born in Ranger where she grew up and was a 1944 graduate of Ranger High School. She worked at the Ranger Times before marrying Charles Beskow in 1948 and they moved to Eastland. She was active in the family business, Beskow Jewelry, for 49 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Beskow of Eastland; two sons, Randy Beskow of Beaumont and Craig Beskow of Cleburne; two brothers, Adrian Pounds of Weatherford and Joe Bob Pounds of Alabama; two sisters, Inez Belknap of Gun Barrel City and Oleta Surles of Kemp; and three grandchildren.

George Wesley Robertson
COMANCHE - George Wesley Robertson, 53, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Downing Cemetery at Downing, with the Rev. Don Longoria officiating, directed by Hall and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Robertson was born in Albuquerque, N.M. He was a Baptist and attended East Side Baptist Church. He had been a resident of Comanche for the past 10 years, moving here from Atlanta, Ga.
Survivors include his mother, Ione Robertson of Comanche; one son, Reed Robertson of Germany; one daughter, Lisa Lamb of Miami, Fla., and two grandchildren.

L.B. McNeil Jr.
STAMFORD - L.B. McNeil Jr., 86, died Friday at an Arlington hospital.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's United Methodist Church with Dr. Phil McClendon officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mr. McNeil was born in Clyde. He married LaVerne Collins in 1936 in Stamford and was a retired insurance agent. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Larry McNeil of Arlington; one sister, Vera Hook of Marshall; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Arnolia Foote
HASKELL - Arnolia Foote, 84, died Thursday at a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shane Brue officiating and a eulogy by Dennis Opitz. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Foote was born in Davilla. She received her bachelor's degree in music from Texas Tech and her master's degree from Hardin-Simmons. She married Robert Garvin Foote in 1941 in Haskell and he preceded her in death. She was a teacher for 39 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of the Mennifee Sunday school class there.
Survivors include a daughter, Lochie Beth Opitz of Fort Worth; two sisters, Ruth Sitton of Lubbock and Alice Heard of Lynnwood, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Jaynie Ruth Bower
Jaynie Ruth Bower, 78, died Friday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Oglesby officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Bower was born in Palestine and attended public school there. She moved to Abilene in 1943, where she attended Hardin-Simmons University. She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring after 30 years as a planning engineer. She was a member and past president of the Telephone Pioneers, was a member of Friends Bible Study Group and taught Sunday School. She served on the Pulpit Committee and Personnel Committee and was head of the Media Center and a member of The Reapers Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, T.J. Bower of Abilene; a son, Steven D. Bower of Georgetown; a daughter, Carole Ann Massey of Los Fresnos; one sister, Bess Meschke of Baton Rouge, La.; a half-sister, Zora Mae Davis of Vidor; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Media Center, 1165 Minter Lane, Abilene 79603, or to the donor's favorite charity.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. today.

Merle T. Smith
Merle T. Smith, 69, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Smith was born in Brown County and graduated from high school in Zephyr. She married J.L. Smith in Brownwood in 1951 and moved to Abilene from Big Spring in 1953. Mrs. Smith was employed as a catalog manager and office clerk for Sears, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include her husband, J.L. Smith of Abilene; a son, Joel Smith of Amarillo; a daughter, Kris LaNell Ward of Fort Worth; two brothers, C.D. Stovall of Comanche and Bergess Stovall of Bryan; four sisters, Dorice Maynor and Julie Townsend, both of Brownwood, Flora Mae Stovall of Ballinger and Montie D. Ward of San Angelo; and four grandchildren.
