Edward 'Big Ed' Brownlee
AZLE - Edward S. "Big Ed" Brownlee, 59, died Sunday at his home.
The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Brownlee was born in Gorman and was a retired millwright. He was an Air Force veteran and had lived in the Fort Worth area since 1959.
Survivors include four brothers, Jack Brownlee of Eastland, Jeff Brownlee of Arlington, Sonny Brownlee of Fort Worth and Charlie Brownlee of Houston; eight sisters, Billie Whitlock of Granbury, Ann Duncan of Clyde, June Biggers of Fort Worth, Bonnie Biller of Marietta, Okla., Virginia Flint, Loyes Castleberry and Lenda Armstrong, all of Abilene, and Glenda Foy of North Carolina; an uncle, three aunts and a number of nieces and nephews.

Marjorie Purvis Neely
MIDLAND - Marjorie Purvis Neely, 68, mother of an Abilene woman, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Charles Hollingsworth officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, directed by Ellis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Neely was born in Dallas, grew up in Arlington and graduated from North Texas State University in 1949. They lived in Abilene, Brownwood, Dallas, Houston and, for 26 years, Midland. She was active in the Presbyterian church, holding local, regional and state offices. She was an elder and assisted the development of Nazareth Presbyterian Church in San Angelo and Project Verdad, a border ministry. She was synod president from 1989-1995. She married Roy Neely Jr. in 1949.
Survivors include her husband; one son, David Neely of Austin; one daughter, Lou Briley of Abilene; and seven grandchildren.

Dub Scrogum
THROCKMORTON - Dub Scrogum, 73, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Merriman-Archer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cliff Lester officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Throckmorton Cemetery.
Mr. Scrogum was born in Ranger and moved to Throckmorton from Graham in 1955. He owned and operated Scrogum Well Service until retiring and was a member of Fort Griffin Masonic Lodge 489. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Tressie Cook in 1943 in Waurika, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, of Throckmorton; one daughter, Joyce Gilmore of Throckmorton; one son, Kent Scrogum of Throckmorton; one brother, H.W. Scrogum of Henderson, Nev.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pebble Crump
BROWNWOOD - Pebble Crump, 89, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Greenleaf Cemetery with the Rev. Lloyd Hagemeier officiating, assisted by Janice Crump, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crump was born in the Silver Valley community (Coleman County), where she attended school, and had lived in Brownwood since 1926. She managed a post exchange at Camp Bowie and later managed Lord's and Franklin's ladies wear stores in Brownwood and San Angelo. She married Plez Crump in 1927 in Brownwood; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Gail Noel Crump of Denton; two grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Horace Brock
CLOVIS, N.M. - Horace Brock, 77, formerly of Aspermont, died Sunday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens in Pampa with W.L. Baldree officiating, directed by Muffley Funeral Homes.
Mr. Brock was born in Chillicothe, where he graduated from high school in 1939. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a self-employed pumper and driller. He had lived in Oklahoma, Borger, Chillicothe and Aspermont before moving to Clovis in 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 1382, both in Aspermont. He married Margie Anne Sinclair in 1945 in Seattle, Wash.
Survivors include his wife, of Clovis; one son, Ben Brock of Clovis; one sister, Wanda Bland of San Antonio; one brother, Clois Brock of Chillicothe; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dean White
STAMFORD - Dean White, 92, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Highland Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. John Erwin officiating, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mrs. White was born in Callahan County. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and was formerly active in United Methodist Women. She was the widow of L.M. "Lec" White, whom she married in 1924 in Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Leslie "Gene" White of Abilene; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Larry Snodgrass Sr.
GIDDINGS - Larry L. Snodgrass Sr., 62, father of an Abilene resident, died Friday.
Services were held Monday in Giddings First Baptist Church. Burial was in Giddings City Cemetery, directed by Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.
Mr. Snodgrass was born in Dodge City, Kan.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Snodgrass of Giddings; three sons, Larry Snodgrass Jr. of Abilene, Lanny Snodgrass of Dallas and Lee Snodgrass of Austin; one brother, Lloyde Snodgrass of Mineola; two sisters, Jewele Thoman and Judy Jones, both of Dodge City, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Marshall Gerald Conner
RULE - Marshall Gerald Conner, 64, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Rule First Baptist Church with the Rev. J.R. Williams and Richard Louder officiating. Burial will be in Rule Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Robison Funeral Directors.
Mr. Conner was born in Rule and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Esther Menchaca in 1980 and was a retired driver of Double Mountain Coach Transportation Service. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Rule; two sons, Marshall Alan Forbis of Abilene and Jerry Zane Forbis of Idaho Falls, Idaho; one daughter, Michelle Bonnell Baldwin of Springfield, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Theresa Baiza of Rule; one brother, Eugene Conner of Midland; and four grandchildren.

Eula Smith Rivers
McKINNEY - Eula Smith Rivers, 84, mother of an Abilene resident, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. in Legacy Drive Baptist Church in Plano with Dr. Gene Hendrix and the Rev. Bob Barker officiating, directed by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Rivers was born in DeQuincy, La., and graduated from Texas School for the Deaf. She worked as a seamstress. She was a member of the FRAT organization, Women's Missionary Union and craft guild. She also was a member of the Silent Friends Chapel at Dallas First Baptist Church and was the widow of Chesley James Rivers, whom she married in 1935 in High Point, N.C.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Bolin of Plano and Loraine Hendrix of Abilene; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

David Ray Miller
BROWNWOOD - David Ray Miller, 49, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Heartland Church in Brownwood with Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mr. Miller was born in Eureka, Calif., and married Janice Hill in 1993 in Brownwood. He worked as a truck driver and was a member of Heartland Church in Brownwood.
Survivors include one son; two daughters; his mother; two brothers; one sister; and one grandchild.
