W.A. 'Ed' Edwards
SNYDER - W.A. "Ed" Edwards, 71, died Tuesday at his home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shawn Fouts officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Edwards was born in Burkburnett and married Ellen Prosise in 1952 in Winters. He owned Ed's Auto Paint & Body Repair and was a member of Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, of Snyder; six daughters, Bobbie Bogle of Anson, Allene Bridges of Attalla, Ala., Becky Henson and Judy White, both of Abilene, Kathy Jacobsen of Pleasonton, Calif., and Billie Pippin of Snyder; three brothers, Carl Edwards of Wichita Falls, Charles Edwards of Forrestburg and Raymond Edwards of Sulphur Springs; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Theresa Kathleen Taylor Janca
PORTLAND, Ore. - Theresa Kathleen Taylor Janca, 38, formerly of Abilene, died Monday in a local hospital.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Jackson Baptist Church in Portland. Arrangements are being made by Autumn Burial & Cremation.
Mrs. Janca was born in Orlando, Fla., and graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene in 1976. She attended the University of Oklahoma and married David Janca in 1986. She worked as a paralegal in Oklahoma City, Chicago, Abilene, San Francisco and Portland. She moved to Portland in 1995 and was a member of Jackson Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Portland; one daughter, Nichole Janca of Portland; one son, Adam Janca of Portland; her parents, Kathleen Taylor of Portland and Terrance Taylor of Abilene; two brothers, Scott Taylor of Rocky Mount, N.C., and David Taylor of Abilene; one sister, Heidi Rains of Abilene; her maternal grandmother, Hartha Hopkins of Portland; and one niece and six nephews.

Morris Hamilton Collett
SPUR - Morris Hamilton Collett, 84, of Mineral Wells and formerly of Spur, died Sunday in a Mineral Wells nursing home.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Spur First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Arrangements were made by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.
Mr. Collett was born in Post and graduated from Spur High School. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He managed restaurants and cafeterias in the Fort Worth-Dallas area before retiring in 1977.
Survivors include one daughter, Colette Lauderdale of Lubbock; one son, Morris Collett Jr. of Strawn; one sister, Nell Luker of Mesquite; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.

Visitation will be in the church fellowship hall after the service.

Jessie Dickey Evans
COLEMAN - Jessie Dickey Evans, 92, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans was born in Go Forth in Hays County and lived in Brownwood for 45 years before moving to Coleman County in 1970. She was a retired practical nurse. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Elmer C. Evans, whom she married in 1926 at Indian Creek.
Survivors include one daughter, Inez Loyd of Mozelle; two sons, S.D. "Dick" Evans of Santa Anna and Bobby G. Evans of Navarre, Fla.; two brothers, Ernest Dickey of National City, Calif., and Howard Dickey of California; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.

Calbert Dean Haskin
GOREE - Calbert Dean Haskin, 58, of Lipan and formerly of Goree, died Tuesday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church in Lipan with the Revs. Tommy Free and David Samples officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Friendship Cemetery in Goree, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home of Munday.
Mr. Haskin was born in Goree and married Antha Nell Beecher in 1957 in Happy, Texas. He moved to Lipan in 1985 from Goree and worked as a rural letter carrier. He was a farmer and was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a deacon and song leader at Goree First Baptist Church for six years before becoming a member of Lipan First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Lipan; two sons, Vinson Wade Haskin of Deer Park and Mark Alan Haskin of Midland; two sisters, Sherry King of Wichita Falls and Candy Estes of Goree; and four grandchildren.

William Almus Mallone
BROWNWOOD - William Almus Mallone, 90, lifelong Brown County resident, died Tuesday in a Kerrville hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Mallone was born in Brown County and served with the U.S. Army Field Artillery during World War II. He was a farmer and was a member of Holder Baptist Church.
Survivors include two nephews and seven nieces.

Fannie Cotton
Fannie Cotton, 76, of Vallejo, Calif., and formerly of Abilene, died Saturday in Vallejo after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Bethel Church of God in Christ. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Mrs. Cotton was born in Cuthbert, Ga., where she attended school, and was a homemaker. She worked as a missionary for Bethel Church of God in Christ until becoming ill.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Anderson and Mildred James, both of Vallejo, Calif.; two sons, Allen Cotton of Richmond, Calif., and J.T. Cotton of Abilene; three sisters and one brother; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will be at 417 Cockerell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Alvin Ray Kelly
Alvin Ray Kelly, 72, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Church of Christ with Bill Luttrell and Dwight Robarts officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Kelly was born in Foss, Okla., and graduated from high school in Burns Flat, Okla. He was the widower of Anne Dorney Kelly, whom he married in 1950 in Cordell, Okla. He married Donice Hawes in 1969 in Stillwater, Okla., and worked for the Dodge-Plymouth Agency in Stillwater for 15 years and U.S. Postal Service, also in Stillwater, for 10 years until retiring in 1973. He moved to Abilene in 1974 from Stillwater, Okla., and was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Kathy Feuerhelm of Edmond, Okla.; one son, Mike Lynn Kelly of LaMonte, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
