Retired Air Force Capt. Kenneth Lindsay
BRADY - Retired U.S. Air Force Capt. Kenneth D. Lindsay, 86, father of a Coleman resident, died Wednesday at his home.
Private services will be held with burial being in Live Oak Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Leatherwood Colonial Funeral Home.
Mr. Lindsay was born in Petersburg, Ind., and married Darby Ogden in 1940 in San Antonio. He moved to the Brady area in 1947. He was a flight instructor in the Pacific during World War II and retired from the Air Force after a 23-year career. He worked with the Boy Scouts in Brady and attended Brady First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Brady; one son, Robert Lindsay of Coleman; one daughter, Julianna Lindsay of Irving; one sister, Katie Lou Parker of Evansville, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society or Boy Scouts.

Marjorie Annalene Kite
Marjorie Annalene Kite, 68, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kite was born in Goree and was a homemaker. She was a prolific writer of letters to the editor of the Abilene Reporter-News and was the widow of L.D. Kite.
Survivors include two sons, Don Kite of Houston and Byron Kite of Abilene; three daughters, Janice Holland of Rising Star, and Brenda Heffernan and Karen McKelvain, both of Abilene; one brother, Gerald Hill of Lubbock; two sisters, Luan King of Sonora and Francis Dryman of La Marque; and 12 grandchildren.

Neva 'Jean' Lewis
Neva "Jean" Lewis, 71, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with Chaplain Paul Vasquez officiating. The body will be cremated.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Lawton, Okla., where she grew up, and married Thomas H. Lewis in 1946 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was a homemaker and moved to Abilene in 1956 from Lawton, Okla. She was a member of Brookhollow Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two daughters, Donna Gerron of Arlington and Pam Bryan of Abilene; one son, Paul Lewis of Fort Worth; two sisters, Billie Alexander and Zelma Ambrose, both of Lawton, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society, 209 S. Danville, Abilene 79605; or American Heart Association, 149 N. Willis, Abilene 79603.
The family will be at 19 Tamarisk.

Linda Reed
WATAUGA - Linda Reed, 53, formerly of Abilene, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Haltom City Christian Church. Burial will be in Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville, directed by Alonzo Funeral Home of Fort Worth.
Mrs. Reed married Charles G. Reed in 1963 and worked as a floral designer. She was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, of Fort Worth; one son, David Reed of Fort Worth; two daughters, Sherry Grosenbach and Christy Berrier, both of Fort Worth; her mother, Sammie Faye Green of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mary Ann Gracy, Peggy Green and Wanda Green, all of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Community Hospice of Texas.

J.D. Wilkins
SEYMOUR - James Durwood "Woody" Wilkins, 61, formerly of Clyde, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Cyle Clayton officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Wilbarger Memorial Cemetery in Vernon, directed by Archer Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilkins was born in Texas and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Barbara Hardage in 1961 in Vernon and moved to Seymour in 1986 from Clyde. He worked for the city of Seymour in the electrical and street maintenance departments and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Seymour; one daughter, Rebecca Nolan of Waco; two sons, James C. Wilkins of Vernon and Jay Dee Wilkins of Abilene; two sisters, Dorothy Selder of Gainesville and Margaret Joy of Hurst; and five grandchildren.

Merle Graham
EASTLAND - Mary Merle Graham, 78, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Eastland First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. Graham was born in Brownwood, where she grew up, and married Lee Graham in 1939 in Cisco. She lived in Laredo and Fort Worth before moving to Eastland in 1948. She worked as a dental assistant for several years, and for Anderson Clothing and the local draft board. She also was employed by the Eastland school district as a teacher's aide and in the principal's office before retiring in 1984. She taught pre-school Sunday school and helped with the nursery for many years at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Eastland; one daughter, Rebecca Cox of Fairway, Kan.; one son, Gary Graham of Eastland; one brother, Charles Ancel Norton Jr. of Abilene; two sisters, Ruby Blevins of Brownfield and Grace Graham of Denton; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to missions program at Eastland First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 7:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Dorothy Watson
BAIRD - Dorothy (Mrs. L.E.) Watson, 86, died Thursday in an Abilene nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater with the Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating, directed by Parker Funeral Home.
Mrs. Watson was born in Helena, Ark., and was a homemaker. She lived in Gladewater for 62 years before moving to Baird in 1996. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Dorcus Study Club and Gladewater First United Methodist Church, and was the widow of Leonard Watson, whom she married in 1930 in Mariana, Ark.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ellen Denman of Baird; one half-brother, Neil Coggins of Shreveport, La.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Gladewater First United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.

Jesse Morgan
ASPERMONT - Jesse Morgan, 88, died Friday in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Aspermont First Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Morgan was born in Hood County and was a farmer and rancher. He was a Baptist and was the widower of Blanche Keeth Morgan, whom he married in 1929 in Aspermont.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Morgan of Lubbock and Vance Morgan of Peacock; one daughter, Pam Lynn of Amarillo; two brothers, Travis Morgan of Aspermont and Elmer Morgan of Andrews; one sister, Flossie Tabbot of Andrews; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
