Alta Irene Ponder
Alta Irene Ponder, 86, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco with the Rev. James Brigham officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Ms. Ponder was born in Eastland County and attended school in Cooke. She was a licensed vocational nurse after training at Stephenville Hospital School of Nursing. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Baird and A.A.R.P.
Survivors include two sons, Doyle Ponder of Hamlin and Donald W. Ponder of Bangs; two sisters, Murl Rogers of Clyde and Ann Ray Hunt of Texarkana, Ark.; two brothers, Audie Moore of Cisco and Bill Moore of Crane; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602.
The family will be at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. today.

James Lloyd 'Mack' West Sr.
BALLINGER - James Lloyd "Mack" West Sr., 64, of Springtown died Thursday at his home.
Services were Saturday at Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Byron Bitner officiating. Burial was in Old Runnels Cemetery.
Mr. West was born in Runnels County and was a deputy sheriff for 32 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married Hazel Lavon McIntyre in Washington.
Survivors include his wife, of Springtown; his mother, Willie Ella West of Rankin; three sons, Dan West of Fort Worth, Stephen West of Abilene and James West Jr. of Springtown; three daughters, Karleen McMahan of Hobbs, N.M., Marilyn Martin of San Angelo and Viki Shailos of Corvalis, Ore.; one brother, Phillip West of Rankin; and 11 grandchildren.

Flora Vasquez
STAMFORD - Flora Vasquez, 65, died Monday at her home.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Tankersley Funeral Home with Juan Bustamante officiating. Mass will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Melcher officiating.
Mrs. Vasquez was born in Seguin and had lived in Stamford for more than 35 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She married Jesse Vasquez in Stamford.
Survivors include her husband, of Stamford; one son, Gilbert Vasquez of Abilene; two daughters, Yolanda Ortega of Stamford and Mary Ramos of Anson; two brothers, Lorenzo Guzman of Houston and Lucio Guzman of Killeen; two sisters, Connie Guzman and Olivia Hurtado, both of Georgetown; and five grandchildren.

Estella Bloom
COLORADO CITY - Estella Bloom, 78, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Monday officiating, assisted by the Rev. Sammy Elliott. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bloom was born in Shamrock and had lived in Colorado City since 1950. She was a waitress and cook for many local restaurants and a sales person for Texas Credit for more than 30 years. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She was the widow of William Bloom.
Survivors include one daughter, Jelilia Wallace of Colorado City; three sons, O'Neal Bloom of Snyder, Richard Bloom of Big Spring and William Bloom Jr. of Lansing, Mich.; six sisters, Hython Seely of Hobart, Okla., Thelma Vanderson of Chandler, Ariz., Ruthie Little of Coos Bay, Ore., Irene Edwards and Pearline King, both of Colorado City, and Lucille Guy of Bryan; one brother, Fred Soles of Big Spring; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Christopher Lee Olson
COLORADO CITY - Christopher Lee Olson, 21, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. today in Dorn Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Northcutt officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Olson was born in the Philippines and was a cement construction worker. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include his parents, Patricia and Paul Olson of Colorado City; grandmothers Cecilia Olson of Colorado City and Rose Marie Judd of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Katherine Olson of Colorado City and Terrie Lynn Helton of Goodland, Kan.; one brother, Brian J. Olson of Colorado City; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

Lenora Feaster Adams
COLORADO CITY - Lenora Feaster Adams, 83, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Colorado City Cemetery with the Rev. Sammy Elliott officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adams was born in Mitchell County, where she lived most of her life. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She married James Marlow "Bill" Adams in 1930 in Colorado City; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Carnes of San Angelo and Elsie Lou Gillilan of Sherman; seven sons, Leon Adams of Graford, Veril Adams of Austin, Michael Adams of Fort Worth, William Adams of Del Rio, Clay Adams of Snyder, Randy Adams of Tom Bean and Tony Adams of Colorado City; three sisters, Ada Henderson of Colorado City and Blanche Roberson and Elsie Mae Lloyd, both of California; one brother, Lonnie Feaster of Luther; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Hershel Smith
LOCKNEY - Hershel Smith, 73, of Norwalk, Calif., died June 2 in Norwalk.
The body was cremated. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lockney Cemetery with the Rev. Tommie Beck officiating, directed by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was born in Stonewall County and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He worked for several law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Immigration Department, the U.S. Treasury Department and police departments in Lubbock and Downey, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jean Smith of Norwalk; one daughter, April Smith of Norwalk; two sons, Douglas Smith and DeWayne Smith, both of Norwalk; one sister, Faye Galloway of Rio Vista; one brother, J.C. Smith of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews.

Lisa Packard
ASPERMONT - Lisa Packard, 45, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Packard was born in Knox City and was a registered dietitian and a Baptist. She married Donnie Packard in 1972 in Crowell.
Survivors include her husband, of Aspermont; her parents, Martin and Petra Quintero of Crowell; two daughters, Misty Packard of Vernon and Donna Packard of Aspermont; six brothers, Ramon Quintero of Oklaunion, Ben Quintero of Thalia, Martin Quintero Jr. of Lubbock, Ramiro Quintero and Glen Quintero, both of Aspermont, and Paul Wayne Quintero of Crowell; two sisters, Mary Daniel of Aspermont and Mary Ann Noah of Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane Hardaway
CLYDE - Mary Jane Hardaway, 92, died Monday at a Christoval care center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Riley Fugitt officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hardaway was born in Pleasanton and moved to Clyde from Center Point in 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Carrizo Springs. She married William Hardaway in 1926 in Carrizo Springs; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one brother, Walter Monroe Bailey of Clyde, and six nephews.
