Wade Wilson White
WINTERS - Wade Wilson White, 80, a former City Council member and mayor from 1968-1974, died Tuesday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Shoemake officiating. Burial will be in Crews Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home.
Mr. White was born in Winters and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1939 and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a rancher and independent oil operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Mary McConaty in 1944 in Tampa, Fla.; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Wade "Biff" White Jr. of Winters and Jim White of Houston; three daughters, Betty Henson and Mary Jo Tucker, both of Winters, and Susan Jere White of Austin; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Josephine Fraser
Josephine Fraser, 86, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Jerry Paulding officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Fraser was born in Shackelford County and attended school in Royston. She was a homemaker and moved to Abilene in 1975 from Hamlin. She worked for James Hall Air Conditioning and Katy Railroad. She was a member of Chapter 1072, Order of the Eastern Star; and Hamlin First Baptist Church, and was the widow of Edgar Darwin Fraser, whom she married in 1968 in Anson.
Survivors include several stepchildren; one sister, Carlee Pope of Sweetwater; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby Hudson 'Granny' Miller
TUSCOLA - Ruby Hudson "Granny" Miller, 89, died Wednesday in an Abilene nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Tuscola United Methodist Church with the Revs. Scott Latham and James Martin officiating. Burial will be in Dewey Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miller was born in Avoca and attended school in Lawn. She was employed by cafes in Lawn for many years. She moved to Winters in 1975 from Lawn, and to Tuscola in 1986. She was a member of Tuscola Senior Citizens, Abilene Adult Day Care and Tuscola United Methodist Church, and was the widow of Henry J. Miller, whom she married in 1926 in Tuscola.
Survivors include one daughter, Ozella Fish of Tuscola; one son, Henry Miller of Tuscola; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Retired Army Col. Richard 'Buck' Weirus
SAN ANTONIO - Retired U.S. Army Col. Richard "Buck" Weirus, 76, formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday in College Station.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in A&M Methodist Church in College Station. Graveside services with military honors will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, directed by Sunset Funeral Home.
Mr. Weirus was a retired executive director of the Former Students Association at Texas A&M University. He was the widower of Claire Fox Weirus.
Survivors include one daughter, Dianna Weirus Burke of Bryan; one sister, Emma Gocker of San Antonio; four grandchildren; and several cousins.

Mark Kevin Davis
COMANCHE - Mark Kevin Davis, 17, a senior-to-be at Comanche High School this fall, died Tuesday from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in East Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Longoria officiating. Burial will be in De Leon Cemetery, directed by Hall & Sons Funeral Home.
Mark was born in Comanche and worked as a courtesy clerk at Brookshires Supermarket. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Kay Davis of Comanche; and two brothers, Brian Davis of Stephenville and Jeff Davis of Comanche.

Anne Eells
KNOX CITY - Anne A. Eells, 82, died Tuesday in a local nursing home after a long illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in O'Brien Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Trice officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eells was born in O'Brien, where she graduated from high school in 1932, and married Oliver Eells in 1972 in Chula Vista, Calif. She was a retired employee of ROHR Industries in Chula Vista, Calif., and returned to Knox City about 22 years ago.
Survivors include her husband, of Knox City; one son, Billy Max Wootton of Reno, Nev.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Barbara 'Bobbie' Beebe
Barbara "Bobbie" Beebe, 66, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Caro Russell officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Beebe was born in Cisco and was a homemaker. She lived in Midland, Electra, Levelland and Mineral Wells before moving to Abilene in 1992. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was the widow of Roy Leon Beebe, whom she married in 1949 in Electra.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Beebe of Midland; one daughter, Rhonda Young of Abilene; one brother, Clinton Bolinger of National City, Calif.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:45 to 1:20 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

David Valdez
David S. Valdez, 36, died Tuesday in Houston.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in North's Funeral Home Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gethsemane Spanish Assembly of God with Amos Garza officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Valdez was born in Knox City and moved to Abilene in 1961. He attended Abilene High School and worked as a contract painter in Abilene until moving to Houston in 1994. He was a member of the Assembly of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Marlena Valdez, Chrystal Valdez and Marchiell Valdez, all of Abilene; his father, Jesse Valdez Jr. of Houston; one brother, Robert Valdez of Abilene; three sisters, Lidia Garza of White Settlement, and Mary Flores and Sylvia Valdez, both of Abilene; his grandmother, Margarita Vadlez of Abilene; and two grandchildren.
The family will be at 1626 Briarwood.
