Ruby Lesly Vinson
Ruby Lesly Vinson, 91, of Potosi died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Potosi Baptist Church with the Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Vinson was born in the Willow Creek community (Jones County) and moved to Taylor County in 1920. She had lived in the Potosi area more than 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Potosi Baptist Church. She farmed with her husband, Dow Vinson, whom she married in 1924 in Potosi; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, F.L. "Bill" Vinson of Clyde; two daughters, Tommie Prock of Abilene and Lawanda Spotts of York, Pa.; two sisters, Wanda McClure and Elouise Winn of Abilene; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Anderson 'Andy' Taylor Sr.
PLAINVIEW - Anderson "Andy" Taylor Sr., 79, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart officiating, assisted by Kenneth Coates. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, directed by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Taylor was born in Runningwater community (Hale County) and grew up and attended school in Plainview. He started Andy Taylor Trucking Company in 1940, operating it until 1985, and built grain elevators west of Plainview and at Edmonson, which he operated until 1968. He had an oil interest in Brown County until 1996 and was in farming. He was a city councilman from 1980-1986 and a member of First Baptist Church and Pastors Class. He had worked for Chun Grocery for several years. He married Jodene Elizabeth Willis Taylor in 1938 in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Beverly (Mrs. James) Alvis of Plainview and Rebecca (Mrs. Mac) Cooper of Lubbock; one son, Andy Taylor Jr. of Abilene; three brothers, Phillip Taylor of Lubbock, Kent Taylor of Plainview and Robert Taylor of Amarillo; three sisters, Doris Payne of Dumas, Maxine Taylor of Plainview and Imogene Kelly of Guymon, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jack Bain
BROWNWOOD - Jack Bain, 67, died Friday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lubbock City Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy McGuire officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Mr. Bain was born in Ponca City, Okla., and moved to Brownwood from Garden Grove, Calif., four years ago. He was an Army Air Force veteran, a retired maintenance mechanic and a Baptist. he married Una Blanche Anderson in 1950 in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; two sons, Alan Bain of Glendale, Calif., and Mark Bain of Buena Park, Calif.; two daughters, Theresa Elliot of Santa Anna and Debra Jennings of Brownwood; three brothers, Lloyd Bain, Orville Bain and Johnny Bain, all of Missouri; two sisters, Rosie Smirell of Nebraska and Nellie Flack of Garden Grove; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Charles Lee Scott
SNYDER - Charles Lee Scott, 80, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rex Reynolds officiating. Graveside services will be in Glen Cove Cemetery near Coleman with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating.
Mr. Scott was born in White Chapel and had lived in Snyder since 1971. He was retired from the Army Corp of Engineers and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Wilma Laws in 1941 in Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, of Snyder; one daughter, Charlene Gilliam of Houston; three sons, Gary Scott of Snyder, Russell Scott of Houston and Wade Scott of North Richland Hills; one sister, Nelda Scott of Wichita Falls; one brother, Loys Scott of Greenville; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Frank Corry Lindsey
STEPHENVILLE - Frank Corry Lindsey, 72, of Hico died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Trey Turner officiating, assisted by the Rev. Darryl Sewell. Burial will be in Nancy Smith Cemetery.
Mr. Lindsey was born in Rockwall County and was a retired LTV employee and real estate broker. He was a member and past master of Chalk Mountain Masonic Lodge 894 and Hico Eastern Star Chapter 419 and a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 9181. He was a member and deacon at Duffau Baptist Church. He married Wanda Underwood in 1944 in Glen Rose.
Survivors include his wife, of Hico; two sons, Corry Eugene Lindsey of Midlothian and Galen Lester Lindsey of San Antonio; six brothers, Lawrence Lindsey of Hico, Wayne Lindsey of Granbury, Robert Lindsey of Rainbow, James Lindsey of Duffau, Roy Lindsey of Irving and Eldon Lindsey of Lewisville; three sisters, Virginia Williams of Arlington, Imogene Alexander of Hico and Wanda Monk of Royce City; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church of the donor's choice.

Benny Fay Leach
BROWNWOOD - - Benny Fay Leach, 35, died Sunday in Menard County.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Holt Cemetery in San Saba County with the Rev. Bob Riley officiating, directed by Bangs Funeral Home.
Mr. Leach was born in Brownwood, where he lived all his life. He was an oil field driller and a Baptist. He married Jill Bradshaw in 1982 in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; four sons, Jeremy Fay Leach, Jeremy Grant Bradshaw, Colby Shane Leach and Benny Fay Leach Jr., all of Brownwood; three daughters, Amanda Lou Leach and Lacy Renee Leach, both of Waco, and Chelsea Renee Leach of Brownwood; his mother, Bertie Hathcock of Early; one brother, Richard Leach of Brownwood; one sister, Brenda Carlisle of Early; one grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Ola Hammond
BROWNWOOD - Ola Hammond died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Greenleaf Cemetery with Jerry Leslie officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hammond was born in Fort Worth and lived most of her life in Brownwood. She was a retired beauty shop owner-operator and a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ and Eastern Star. She married Carl Hammond in 1920 in Ranger; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

Lillian Cook
Lillian Cook, 86, of Dallas and formerly of Putnam, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel in Restland Cemetery in Dallas. Local arrangements were made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Survivors include four sisters, Ina Baker of Hobbs, N.M., Edith Hayes and Artie Bolick, both of Abilene, and Frances Reyle of Dallas; one brother, M.H. Cook of Clyde; and several nieces and nephews.

Dovie Allen
COLEMAN - Dovie Allen, 100, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born in Nolanville in Bell County and attended school in Bell County. She moved to Coleman County in 1924 and lived in the Gouldbusk area until moving to Coleman. She was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club. She played the piano at Concho Baptist Church for many years and was the widow of Frank Allen, whom she married in 1924 in Abilene.
Survivors include one sister, Bettye Jo Langham of Kingsland; one sister-in-law, Ruby Allen of Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank Kropp
BLACKWELL - Frank S. Kropp, 66, of Oak Creek Lake, died Monday in a Sweetwater hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blackwell First Baptist Church with the Revs. Eddie Tingle and Jackie Gestes officiating. Burial will be in Blackwell Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Mr. Kropp was born in Handley and moved to Blackwell in 1992. He married Shirley Langford in 1993 in Blackwell and was a retired truck driver. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Oak Creek Lake; one son, Billy Frank Kropp of Abilene; three daughters, Tinna Jo Westbrook of Hawley, and Beverly Westbrook and Amy Wester, both of Abilene; two stepdaughters, Yvonne Davis of Blackwell and Sallye Stewart of Temple; one stepson, Randy Mitchel of Belton; two brothers, J.M. Kropp of Sweetwater and Ray Kropp of Fort Worth; one sister, Virginia Pearl Scarborough of Sunset, Texas; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Margarite Williams
COLEMAN - Margarite Williams, 85, employed by Coleman Steam Laundry for many years, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Northway officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams was born in St. Louis and attended school in Grand Saline. She moved to Coleman in 1932 and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was the widow of Ernest E. Williams, whom she married in 1928 in Brownwood.
Survivors include four sons, Ernest Williams Jr. and Tony Williams, both of Coleman, Frank Williams of San Angelo and Thomas J. Williams of Clyde; one daughter, Pat Bevills of San Angelo; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
