Frances Fritts
COMANCHE - Frances Fritts, 72, chief program assistant for the U.S. Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for 30 years until retiring in 1983, died Wednesday in Idaho Falls, Idaho after a sudden illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Comanche First Baptist Church with Dr. Van Christian and the Rev. Alan Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Hall & Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fritts was born in Comanche, where she lived most of her life, and married Glen Fritts in 1945. She was a charter member of the Texas ASCS Employees Association and also was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Comanche; three sisters, Ann Ellis, Udell Aiken and Neva Crumley; two brothers, Durward Williford and Jesse Williford, both of Brownwood; and 16 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Margarita Gonzales
Margarita Z. Gonzales, 68, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Mass will be said at 9 a.m. today in St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Gonzales was born in Chicago and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church and was the widow of Raul Gonzales.
Survivors include three daughters, Frances Miranda of Fort Worth, and Sylvia Lopez and Linda Gonzales, both of Abilene; one son, Roy Gonzales of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Billy Wayne James
Billy Wayne James, 57, died Thursday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Herschel Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. James was born in Grimes County and moved to Abilene in 1946. He was self-employed and married Glenda Harris in 1993 in Abilene. He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; five daughters, Debra Barber, Karen Pomlinson, Kathy Hayes, Julie Ma moran and Denise Veason, all of Bristol, Fla.; his mother, Maybelle James Walton of Abilene; two brothers, Marvin James Jr. and Johnny Lee James, both of Abilene; three sisters, Shirley Brown and Linda Morris, both of Oklahoma City, and Sandra Flowers of Abilene; and 10 grandchildren.

James Mackay
ATLANTA, Ga. - James O. Mackay, 34, son of two Abilene residents, died Wednesday in Atlanta after a long illness.
A memorial service was held Friday at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene. Funeral services are pending.
Mr. Mackay was born in Austin and lived in San Antonio for many years. He graduated from Madison High School in San Antonio and attended Incarnate Word. He worked at the San Antonio Express-News and then in the movie theater industry.
Survivors include his parents, Don and Donna Mackay of Abilene; one brother, Donald Mackay; and two sisters, Gina Mackay and Kelly Mackay.

William Thomas 'Bill' Vaughn
HAMLIN - William Thomas "Bill" Vaughn, 74, lifelong area resident, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Rotan First Baptist Church with the Revs. Werth Mayes and Howard Jones officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mr. Vaughn was a rancher and farmer, and also worked as a truck driver. He was a 4-H leader. He was a member of the Torrance County, N.M. Sheriff's Posse and the Assembly of God and Baptist churches. He was the widower of Buella Marie Brooks Vaughn.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Evolyn Key Vaughn of Hamlin; six children, Tina Zima of Pride, La., Tommy Vaughn of Goodrich, Texas, Dickey Vaughn of Abilene, William R. Bill Vaughn of Marshfield, Texas, Bobby Vaughn of Hamlin and Laura Lynn Dean Alls of Hawley; and many grandchildren; great grandchildren; step grandchildren; and step great grandchildren.

Maude Ola Blanks Anastasio
VERO BEACH, Fla. - Maude Ola Blanks Anastasio, 88, formerly of the Abilene area and Clifton, N.J., died Wednesday in Vero Beach.
Private services will be held, directed by Intelisano-Scarpa Funeral Home of Clifton, N.J.
Mrs. Anastasio was born in Caps, where she grew up, and was a homemaker. She formerly lived in Abilene and was a longtime resident of Clifton, N.J. before moving to Vero Beach in 1995. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Paterson, N.J., and was the widow of Joseph Anastasio.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Mitchell of Vero Beach, Raymond Mitchell of Manahawkin, N.J., and Alvin Mitchell of Otterbein, Ohio; two sisters, Billie McCormick and Jewel Hollowell, both of Texas; one brother, William Blanks of Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Richard Mason Richburg
LORAINE - Richard Mason Richburg, 47, of San Jose, Calif., and formerly of Loraine, died July 17 at his home.
Graveside services were held Thursday in Loraine Cemetery with the Rev. Glenda Johnson officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Mr. Richburg was born in Sweetwater and graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene in 1968. He attended Texas Tech and McMurry universities.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Richburg of Greenville; one daughter, Audrey Richburg of Plano; his mother, Trudie Richburg of Abilene; and one sister, Sylvia Adrian of Midland.

William Earl Allen
CLYDE - William Earl Allen, 84, of Albuquerque, N.M., and formerly of Clyde, died Thursday in an Albuquerque hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born in Carbon and attended school in Olden. He worked as a supervisory foreman for Mobil Oil Co. in Texas and New Mexico and moved to Clyde in 1977 and Albuquerque, N.M. in 1996. He was a member of Clyde Church of Christ and was the widower of Lula Maye Pittman Allen, whom he married in 1937 in Stephenville.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Robinson of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A.B. Combs II
STEPHENVILLE - A.B. Combs II, 61, formerly of Colorado City, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. James Baptist Church in Colorado City with the Rev. Robert Bracy officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell County Cemetery in Colorado City, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Mr. Combs was born in Colorado City, where he married Rosiebell Marie Bryant in 1974, and worked in construction. He was a deacon for the Church of God in Christ in Kansas and was a member of the Church of God in Christ in Colorado City.
Survivors include his wife, of Stephenville; one son, A.B. Combs III of Stephenville; nine daughters, Alice Ellison of Farmington, N.M., Doris Faye Green and Linda Faye Combs, both of Colorado City, Doris Mae Green of Midland, Juanita Green of Odessa, Antrice Combs of San Antonio, Patricia Joan Robison and Victoria Gail Robison, both of Stephenville, and Michelle Marie Teague of Sparks, Nev.; his mother, La Vada Jones of Colorado City; his grandmother, Edna Haynes of Colorado City; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives.

MUNDAY - T.J. Partridge, 88, lifelong Knox County resident, died Thursday in a Knox City hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Gillespie Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Clark and Ross Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Gillespie Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Partridge was born in Knox County and married Dovie Davis in 1927 in Haskell. He was a farmer and was a deacon at Gillespie Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Munday; two sons, Wendell Partridge of Munday and Bob Partridge of Arlington; one brother, Don Partridge of Austin; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Charles David Peel
STAMFORD - Charles David Peel, 51, of Austin and formerly of Stamford, died Thursday in an Austin hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Strait officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Peel was born in Stamford and graduated from high school in London, England, and Dallas Baptist University. He was in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He was a member of University Church of Christ in Austin and was the widower of Jackie Karon Howser Peel.
Survivors include one son, Michael David Peel of Austin; one daughter, Mary Michelle Peel of Austin; his parents, Jean Brownfield Peel of Austin and Herschel David Peel of Cairo, Ga.; one uncle and one aunt; and several cousins.
