Bobby Carl Fenton
COLEMAN - Bobby Carl Fenton, 41, died Sunday at a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Robinett officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Fenton was born and grew up in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. He was a pipeline contractor and a Baptist. He married Vicki Jones in 1978 in Paint Rock.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; two sons, Chad Garrett and Clay Bob Fenton, both of Fenton; his stepmother, Noreta Fenton of Coleman; two stepbrothers, four stepsisters and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eugene 'Gene' Franklin
RANGER - Eugene "Gene" Franklin, 82, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Cemetery with Garland VanDyke, Lonnie Mayhall and Barry Franklin officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Franklin was born in Desdemona and grew up and attended school in Ranger. He was a National Guard veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, retiring after 25 years. He worked for Permian Oil Company, the Breckenridge Fire Department and Swenson Ranch. He married Jewel Mayhall in 1962; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one sister, Mildred Bradley of Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

Lorraine Idella Maddox
MINGUS - Lorraine Idella Maddox, 77, died Sunday in Aurora, Colo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mingus Baptist Church with David Milmo officiating. Burial will be in New Gordon Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.
Mrs. Maddox was born in Huckabay and graduated from high school in Comyn. She graduated from beauty school in Brownwood in 1939 and had shops in Brownwood, Lipan and Mingus. She was a member of Mingus Home Demonstration Club and Mingus Baptist Church. She was the widow of J.R. Maddox.
Survivors include one son, Mike Price of Aurora; one brother, Donald Hood of Austin; two sisters, Nita Scott of Coleman and Jerrye Sears of Lipan; and two grandchildren.

Hazel Brock Respess Wattenbarger
CROSS PLAINS - Services for Hazel Brock Respess Wattenbarger, 98, of Littleton, Colo., will be today in Cross Plains Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wattenbarger was the wife of the Rev. Ross Respess, who pastored several Callahan County churches in the 1930s, '40s and '50s. She married Jess Wattenbarger in 1970 in Bakersfield, Calif.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat Respess Willis of Littleton; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Enid Strahan
CROSS PLAINS - Enid G. Strahan, 76, a longtime resident of Durango, Colo., died at a Durango hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Cottonwood, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Strahan was born in Bernice, La., and, with her husband, purchased Mayflower Moving Business in Durango in 1954. She was active with First Southern Baptist Church and Toastmaster Club. She married James H. Strahan in 1939 in Cottonwood.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Janice Moore of Durango; one son, James Strahan of Durango; three brothers, John Allen Green of Plano, Charles Green of Dayton, Ohio, and Harvey Green of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gladys Walls
Gladys Marie Walls, 99, a U.S. District Court deputy clerk and commissioner for 20 years until retiring in 1971, died Monday in a local care facility.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in University Church of Christ Chapel with Dr. Eddie Sharp and Ray Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Miss Walls was born in Scyene in Dallas County and graduated from Abilene Christian High School in 1918. She attended Abilene Christian College and Draughan's Business College. She taught school for three years and later worked for Douglas Aircraft Co. in California for four years before returning to Abilene. She was a member of University Church of Christ.
Survivors include one brother, Ernest M. Walls of Abilene; and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys Nicholas Melbuer
Gladys Nicholas Melbuer, 93, of Abilene and formerly of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Swan-Law Funeral Chapel in Colorado Springs, Colo., with the Rev. Glen McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs. Local arrangements were made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Melbuer was born in Miami, Okla., and moved to Abilene in 1993 from Calhan, Colo. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a Methodist and was the widower of Leona Melbuer, whom he married in 1927 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Survivors include three daughters, Marie Sutliff of Vancouver, Wash., Dorothy Goddard of Wichita, Kan., and June Ververs of Abilene; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Wilma Edwards
HAMLIN - Wilma Edwards, 54, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Assembly of God with the Revs. Ted Miller and Don Clevenger officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Quitaque and graduated from Aspermont High School in 1961. She moved to Albany in 1972 and Hamlin in 1992. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Edwards of Hamlin; two sons, Timothy Edwards of Oklahoma City and Charles Edwards of Overton; two daughters, Jamie Thomas of Abilene and Kathy Brewer of Eastland; her mother, Gladys Jones of Hamlin; two brothers, James T. Jones of Charlotte, Texas, and the Rev. Robert M. Jones of Winters; two sisters, Gladys Weaver of Hamlin and Rebekah Bristow of Happy; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

William Freeman 'Bill' Collins
CISCO - William Freeman "Bill" Collins, 86, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jim Manning and Chris Craig officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Collins was born in Angelina County and married Odesa Coats in 1937 in Abilene. He worked for Merchants Fast Motor Lines in Odessa for several years. He later farmed and was employed by Garrett Lumber & Supply in Cisco. He worked for Chickasaw Lumber Co. in Fort Worth from 1960 until retiring in 1976. He moved to Cisco in 1981 and was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class and a deacon at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Cisco; two daughters, Charlotte Barnes of Levelland and Maedean Dodds of Brownwood; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five nieces and three nephews.

Grace Wilson
GOULDBUSK - Grace Wilson, 92, lifelong Coleman County resident, died Tuesday at her home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman with the Revs. Darrell Tapley and Jimmy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Gouldbusk Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Milam County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Gouldbusk Baptist Church and was the widow of Herman Ola Wilson, whom she married in 1922 in Stacy, Texas.
Survivors include two daughters, Doreece Ford of Gouldbusk and Sue Hemphill of Coleman; three sons, Randolph Wilson of Leaday, Hershell Wilson of Coleman and Glen Wilson of Gouldbusk; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Gouldbusk Baptist Church or Gouldbusk Cemetery.
