Charles N. Prater
HAMLIN - Charles N. Prater, 76, died Tuesday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Martin Encke officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 tonight.
Mr. Prater was born in Hamlin. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1938, from John Tarleton College in 1940 and also attended Texas A&M College. He was U.S. Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He married Virginia Johnson in Lueders in 1944 and was an employee of Shell Pipeline Corp. for 37 years. He lived in the Midland/Odessa area for 21 years. He retired in 1983 and returned to Hamlin.
Mr. Prater was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Wesleyan Sunday School class and served on the Finance Committee, the Administrative Board, the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and the Board of Trustees. He was past president of the Hamlin Lions Club, and at the time of his death, was president of the Hamlin Cemetery Association and was involved in ranching and farming.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Prater of Hamlin; two sons, Charles N. Prater II of Kingwood and Gary M. Prater of Lueders; one daughter, Mary Lou McLennan; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or First United Methodist Church.

W. G. "Grice" Glisson
W.G. "Grice" Glisson, 87, of Abilene, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Oglesby officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Glisson was born in Iberis in Taylor County and attended school in Willis Point, Texas. He moved to Abilene from Willis Point in 1935. He was a farmer for 30 years and worked for the Texas Highway Department for 22 years.
He married Buelah Jewel Thornton in Abilene in 1935. She preceded him in death. Mr. Glisson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a past member of the American Bowling Association.
Survivors include three daughters, Doris Watts of Abilene, Betty Jo Gillispie and Nancy Kennedy, both of Irving; a sister, Alice Young of Myrtle Spring; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

C.J. "Cicero" Morales
BRECKENRIDGE - C.J. "Cicero" Morales, 97, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Melton Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Revs. Rex Boggs and Earl Harper officiating. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery directed by Melton Funeral Home.
Mr. Morales was born in Stephens County. In 1927 he married Mary Belcher who preceded him in death. He was a Catholic and a retired ranch hand.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Lou King and Mary Ann Moser, both of Breckenridge; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. The memorials may be left at Melton Funeral Home.

Dora Gober Wilkins
BROWNWOOD - Dora Gober Wilkins, 89, died Monday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Turnbow officiating. Burial will be at Rocky Creek Cemetery directed by the funeral home.
Mrs. Wilkins was born in Alvarado and had lived in Brownwood since 1943. She was the widow of Fay Gober, whom she married in 1927. She was a member of the Pentecostal church and a homemaker.
Survivors include five sons, Billy Gober of Lometa, William Gober of Brownwood, Jimmy Boring of Kansas City, Mo., Cecil Gober of Brownwood and Tommy Gober of Brownwood; six daughters, Treva Richardson of Lampasas, Bertie Hathcock of Early, Ruby Thames of Abilene, Mary Steffey of Coleman, Wanda Reynolds of Granbury and Linda Bamber of Clyde; one sister, Ada Oneita Kenny of Coleman; 40 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Vivian Fay Bennett Tacker
STAMFORD - Vivian Fay Bennett Tacker, 90, died Tuesday at her daughter's home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Kinney Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Lampert officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery directed by the funeral home.
Mrs. Tacker was born in 1907 in Anson. She was the widow of Willie Bennett whom she married in 1925 and Charles Tacker whom she married in 1974. She had lived in Stamford since 1964. Mrs. Tacker was an member of the First Baptist Church and active in the golden age choir and the sanctuary choir. She was also a part of the VIP Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include one son, Joe Bradley Bennett of New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Norma Terry of Stamford and Billie June Skinner of New Port Richey, Fla.; three sisters, Jewell Tapp of Roswell, N.M., Azlea Watts of Anson and Audrey Kemp of Eunice, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Stamford or the VIP Senior Citizen Center.

Fred Wilson
BRADSHAW - Fred Wilson, 85, died Tuesday at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Bradshaw Cemetery with the Rev. Helen Rogers officiating directed Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Mr. Wilson was born in McAlister, Okla. He worked in construction for many years and retired in 1972. He lived all of his life in Texas. In 1972 when he retired he moved from Decatur to Bradshaw. He was the widower of Vada Collums. They were married in 1949 in San Angelo. He was a member of Bradshaw Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Gene Ellison of Abilene; two daughters, Shirley Drain of Marble City, Okla. and Janie Celani of Frisco; two brothers, Carl Wilson and Gib Wilson both of McAlister, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Annie Lee Davis
STAMFORD - Annie Lee Davis, 83, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Jessie Hooper officiating assisted by the Rev. Billy Mack Medlock. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born in Frankston, Texas. She married Richard Davis in 1929 in Frankston. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a resident of the Stamford area since 1939.
Survivors include eight daughters, Claudia Marsh and Frankie Davis, both of Stamford, Alene Matthews and Eula Mae Cooper, both of Lubbock, Jewel Clemen and Mattie Johnson, both of Midland, and Lillie Faye Johnson and Doris Jean Hooper both of Abilene; one brother, Frank W. Taylor of Waco; two sisters, Bertha Fredrick of Dallas and Caudie Maxie of Waco; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Annetta Boyd Moore
MORAN - Annetta Boyd Moore, 92, died Wednesday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Moran with the Revs. Jack Clack and Cole Farmer officiating. Burial will be at Moran Cemetery directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
Mrs. Moore was born in Eureka, Texas. She moved to Duncan, Okla., in 1910 where she graduated from High School. She married Joe R. Moore in 1925 in Marlow, Okla. He preceded her in death. They moved to Eastland County and lived in the Morton Valley Community from 1926 to 1946. She had lived in Moran since 1946.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Moran Chapter 591 of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Billy J. Moore of Granbury and Bobby E. Moore of Moran; one daughter, Mary Nell Moore Holland of Moran; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Billy Nathe White
BRECKENRIDGE - Billy Nathe White, 71, died Tuesday at an Abilene hosptial.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Resthaven Cemetery in Southland with the Rev. Chuck McCullough officiating directed by Hudman Funeral Home in Post.
Mr. White was born in Center Point, Texas. He had lived in Breckenridge sine 1992. He worked in banking as a loan officer and was vice president of the loan department.
Surviviors include one son, Kevin White of Carrollton; one daughter, Karen McCullough of Los Alamos, N.M., and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
