Ethel McIver Johnson
EASTLAND -- Ethel McIver Johnson, 93, formerly of Trickham in Brown County, died Wednesday in Oxford, Mich.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with the Rev. Helen McIver officiating. Burial will be in Trickham Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Trickham and worked as a house mother for the Farm House at Kansas State University and the Lambda Chi Alpha and Phi Delta Theda sororities at Texas Christian University until retiring. She lived in Manhattan, Kan., San Antonio, Corpus Christi and, for 30 years, Fort Worth. She moved to Eastland seven years ago. She was a member of University Methodist Church in Fort Worth and was the widow of Bernt Johnson, whom she married in 1927 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Survivors include one son, Bill Johnson of Arvada, Colo.; one daughter, Joyce Hewitt of Olden; one brother, Rankin McIver of Trickham; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Frances Louise Crews
MORAN -- Frances Louise Crews, 79, formerly of Moran, died Wednesday in an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Moran First Baptist Church with the Revs. Cecil Harper and Jack Clack officiating. Burial will be in Moran Cemetery, directed by Morehart Mortuary of Albany.
Mrs. Crews was born in Moran, where she attended school, and worked as a restaurant owner and operator in Shackelford and Stephens counties for many years. She was a member of Moran First Baptist Church and was the widow of A.T. Crews, whom she married in Throckmorton.
Survivors include three daughters, Elicia Harper and Cindy McPherson, both of Breckenridge, and Carolyn Hill of Moran; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bobbie Parks Cozart
CISCO -- Bobbie Parks Cozart, 80, of Cisco, died Friday at an Abilene hospice.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cavalry Baptist Church of Cisco with the Rev. Franklin Stephens officiating. Burial will be in
Mrs. Cozart was born in Callahan County and married Alford Parks. The couple raised their family in rural Eastland County. He preceded her in death in 1963. She later married Jack Cozart, who preceded her in death in 1988. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cisco.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Glover of Clyde; three sons, Bill Parks of Riverside, Calif.; Gene Parks of Burleson, and George Parks of Houston; three brothers, Elvis and Johnnie Nelms, both of Cisco, and L.J. "Hut" Nelms of Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Lois Pippen and Jessie Pippen, both of Cisco, and Bonnie Davis of Abilene; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Misty Jo Holley
MERKEL -- Misty Jo Holley, 17, of Merkel, died at an Abilene hospital Thursday night.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at North's Memorial Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will be in the Clyde Cemetery.
She grew up in the Clyde and Merkel areas, and attended Merkel High School. She was a barrel racer and had worked at the Hitching Post and Subway restaurants. She attended the Tye Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Tyeler Wesley Holley of Merkel; her mother, Crystal Marie Browne of Merkel; her father, William C. Holley Jr. of Stamford; two brothers, William "Trey" Holley III of Fort Campbell, Ky.; and Hunter Glynn Browne of Merkel; a sister, Destiny Nicole Jones of Merkel; maternal grandparents, Jan Goforth of Abilene and Thomas Riley of Merkel; and paternal grandfather, William C. Holley Sr. of Clyde.
The family will be at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange, from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

John F. Scarborough
John F. Scarborough, 66, of Abilene, died Thursday at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Allen-Korzenewski Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Watson officiating. His body will be cremated.
Mr. Scarborough was born in Haskell County and attended school in Haskell County and Rochester. He married Jane Adams in Burnet and moved to Abilene in 1973. He worked for Bourland Service Station for many years.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Allen Scarborough of Washington state, Carl Scarborough of Fort Worth and Larry Scarborough of Abilene; three daughters, Edna Breaux of Louisiana, Brenda McCann Casselberry of Dripping Springs, and Debbie Niemann of Abilene; one sister, Dorothy Christine Long of Lampasas; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Big Country.

Gwyn Mitchell
Gwyn Mitchell, 71, formerly of Merkel, died Saturday in Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel with the Rev. Mike Shirley officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Merkel, where she graduated from high school, and lived most of her life in the Abilene area. She worked as a receptionist at Frances' Beauty Salon for 16 years. She was a Methodist and was the widow of James Price Mitchell, whom she married in 1950 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Mitchell of Oklahoma City and Tim Mitchell of Colorado City; one daughter, Debbie Wheeler of Lovington, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Cassie Faye Hughes, 79, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Hughes was born in Baird and moved to Abilene in 1941. She was a homemaker and was a member of Fairmont United Methodist Church.

Ronald Glen Rock
ALBANY -- Ronald Glen Rock, 59, died Friday in Shackelford County north of Albany from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Albany First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Tunnell officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Tuscola Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mr. Rock was born in Rule and worked for many years as a diesel mechanic for Merchants Fast Motor Lines in Abilene. He operated STR Tire Co. in Laredo. He was a Baptist and was the widower of Karen Lynn Haarsma Rock, whom he married in 1958.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Smith of Kingsland, Terri Huffman of San Antonio and Cindi Oman of Sinton; two sons, R.G. "Rusty" Rock Jr. of Corpus Christi and Randy Rock of Waco; one brother, Floyd Eldon Rock of Midland; four sisters, Juet Ohlhausen of Ballinger, Modine Moody and Ann Tucker, both of Liberty, Mo., and Melva Henson of Abilene; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Hugh Clinton 'Clint' McClure
COLEMAN -- Hugh Clinton "Clint" McClure, 79, lifelong Coleman County resident, died Friday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Walker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Robinett and Donnie Neff officiating. Burial will be in Santa Anna Cemetery.
Mr. McClure was born near Santa Anna and was a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army's 823rd Air Evacuation Squadron during World War II. He worked at an oilfield pump station until retiring. He married Hazel Ryan in 1984 in Stephenville and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; three daughters, Anna Kay Orr of Douglasville, Ga., Leta Yocham of Glen Rose and Francene Preas of Dilley; one stepdaughter, Kay Sharpes of Winters; one son, Gary McClure of Coleman; one stepson, Rusty Ryan of Talpa; two brothers, Orin "Butch" McClure of Plainview and Gene McClure of Abilene; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Willard Hedges
BROWNWOOD -- Willard Hedges, 77, of Lake Brownwood, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Rocky Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Bryant and S.L. Yeilding officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Creek Cemetery, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Hedges was born in Oklahoma and graduated from West Texas State University, where he was named a Little All-American in football. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He coached high school football and basketball in the Lubbock area for 32 years until retiring. He also worked as a building contractor. He moved to Lake Brownwood in 1976. He was the widower of Reanalda King Hedges, whom he married in 1942. He married Sue Barton in 1998 in Brown County and was a Mason. He was a member of Lake Brownwood Lions Club and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Lake Brownwood; one son, Nick Hedges of Lake Brownwood; seven stepchildren; three brothers, his twin, Willis Hedges of Lubbock, Arthur Hedges of Amhearst and Buddy Hedges of Bryan; one sister, Calvin Manley of Wolfe City; two grandchildren; and 10 step grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
