Darrell Haynes
LAWN - Darrell Haynes, 73, owner and operator of a service station and tire business from 1950 until retiring in 1995, died Thursday in a Coleman nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Lawn Baptist Church with Jim Elkins and the Revs. R.J. Elkins and Rufus Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Oplin Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Mr. Haynes was born in Lawn, where he graduated from high school, and lived in Abilene from 1948 until returning to Lawn in 1950. He married Billie Poindexter in 1949 in Abilene and was a member of the Lawn Riding Club and now-closed Range Riders Club in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Lawn; two daughters, Paula Baugus of Abilene and Pam Baker of Glen Rose; two brothers, Vaughn Haynes of Farmington, N.M., and Grady Haynes of Abilene; two sisters, Nanny Mae Bennett of Sweetwater and Ruby Hess of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Elton Jones
COLEMAN - Elton Jones, 80, died Wednesday in a Bangs nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Jones officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born in Shields in Coleman County and attended school in Shields and Santa Anna. He also attended Tarleton State and Texas A&M universities. He lived in Shields for many years and married Katie Barton in 1940 in Fredericksburg. He was a farmer and rancher and moved to Coleman about three years ago. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; one daughter, Karen Glidewell of Lewisville; one sister, Mary Tom Watson of Trickham; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one niece.

John Dunn Jr.
HASKELL - John R. Dunn Jr., 66, lifelong Haskell County resident, died Sunday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Rule Cemetery with John Greeson officiating, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Dunn was born in Rule and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Rodney Debs Dunn of Kempner, Glenn Ray Dunn of Peevley, Mo., and Joe Bruce Dunn of Detroit; one daughter, Mary Ann Ryser of Taconite, Minn.; one brother, Ralph Dunn of Tye; one sister, Dorothy Burk of Bonham; one stepsister, Faye Webb of Rule; and seven grandchildren.

Elizabeth Jones McCrea
COLEMAN - Elizabeth Jones McCrea, 94, of San Angelo and formerly of Coleman, died Wednesday in a Ballinger nursing home.
Private burial will be in Coleman Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church in Coleman with the Rev. Jeff Robinett officiating, directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCrea was born in Talpa and graduated from Ballinger High School and Daniel Baker College in Brownwood. She was a school teacher and lived for several years in Coleman before moving to Tyler, Lubbock and, in 1979, San Angelo. She was active in PEO for many years and was a member of Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an elder at First Presbyterian Church in San Angelo and was the widow of Marshall McCrea.
Survivors include two sons, Marshall S. McCrea Jr. of Llano and George E. McCrea of San Angelo; one sister, Ellen Townsend of Coleman; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Drep Gibson
SNYDER - Drep Gibson, 86, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C.J. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gibson was born in Paris, Texas, and moved to Scurry County at about age five from East Texas. He grew up in Scurry County. He farmed in Scurry County and Idalou before moving to Mesa, Ariz. in 1959. He was in charge of maintenance at the Williams Air Force Base Golf Course in Mesa. He moved to California in 1972 and worked at Edwards AFB as a maintenance supervisor in base housing. He married Virgie Cox in 1982 and moved to Snyder in 1984. He married Lorena Gray Cole in 1985 in Snyder and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Snyder; two daughters, Anita Lewis of Mesa, Ariz., and Brenda Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one stepdaughter, Raydene Brown of Snyder; one stepson, Curtis Brown of Snyder; one brother, Leslie Gibson of Ennis; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Louie Edgar Clawson Jr.
BANGS - Louie Edgar Clawson Jr., 76, of Monahans, father of a Bangs resident, died Tuesday in a Kermit hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Bangs Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Mullin and Joseph Jones officiating, directed by Bangs Funeral Home.
Mr. Clawson was born in Comanche and was a retired truck driver. He moved to Monahans in 1992 from Big Spring. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Clawson of Bangs, and Ronald Robey and Mike Robey, both of Big Spring; three daughters, Tammy Jones of Monahans, Irene Reed of Truscott and Brenda Ragsdale of Austin; one brother, B.F. "Bunk" Clawson of Snyder; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Charles Hall Sr.
EARLY - Charles W. Hall Sr., 62, died Wednesday at his home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Turnbow officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mr. Hall was born in Brownwood, where he graduated from high school. He married Jean Slaughter in 1952 in Brownwood and was retired from Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Early; two sons, Charles W. Hall Jr. of Brownwood and Larry Gene Hall of Houston; one daughter, Cheryl Buse of Early; one sister, Dorothy Trowbridge of Coleman; and seven grandchildren.

Inez Kuenstler
MIDLAND - Inez Kuenstler, 85, formerly of Stamford, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 9 a.m. today in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Tims officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford.
Mrs. Kuenstler was born in Neinda in Jones County and attended school in Stamford. She operated the Busy Bee Cafe in Stamford for many years. She moved to Midland in 1956 and worked at the Petroleum Club for many years until retiring. She was a director of the Midland Woman's Club. She was a member of Wilshire Park Baptist Church and was the widow of Roy E. Kuenstler.
Survivors include one son, Don Edward Kuenstler of Midland; two brothers, Kenneth Rorie of Midland and L.C. Rorie of Stamford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edna Frances Wilson
BROWNWOOD - Edna Frances Wilson, 87, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with Dan Wright officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Ms. Wilson was born in Winona and worked as a practical nurse. She was a Nazarene and was the widow of Noble L. Duncan.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Duncan of Lake Elesnore, Calif.; two daughters, Edna Hopkins of Brownwood and Linda Covington of Zephyr; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Wayne Haas
CLYDE - Wayne J. Haas, 39, of New Caney and formerly of Clyde, died Saturday at his home.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Joplin officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery.
Mr. Haas was born in Mount Olive, N.C., and attended school in Abilene. He worked as a truck driver and moved to Houston in 1990 from Clyde. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Abilene.
Survivors include his mother, Ileane Haas of Clyde; three brothers, Dennis Haas of Abilene, Rex Haas of Anson and Tony Haas of Dublin; two sisters, Susan Redinger of Gardner, Kan., and Ricki Caswell of Smyer; and many nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.
