Dessie Lee Stump
BROWNWOOD -- Dessie Lee Stump, 79, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring with the Rev. Jerry Thorpe officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Ms. Stump was born in Erath County and worked as a secretary for the Missouri Pacific Railway. She formerly lived in Odessa, where she was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Bobbie Spencer and Viola Hampton, both of Brownwood, Dorothy Hornbeck of San Antonio and Mildred Lightfoot of Midland; and one brother, Lewis Stump of Lubbock.

Herman Schulze
SWEETWATER -- Herman E. Schulze, 93, died Tuesday at his home.
Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Goode officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Schulze was born in Sweethome and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to Sweetwater in 1960 from Hermleigh and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was the widower of LaJuana Frances McFaul Schulze, whom he married in 1945 in San Angelo.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Flinn of Bowie; one sister, Minnie Schoppa of Sweetwater; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Elizabeth "Beth' White Taylor
Elizabeth "Beth" White Taylor, 81, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Potosi and moved to Abilene in 1925. She worked as a beautician. She also was employed by U.S. Brass for 11-1/2 years until retiring. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was the widow of J.P. White and James L. Taylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Carlene White Edmondson and Jonie Beth White Yarbrough, both of Abilene; two sisters, Louise Collins of Seattle and Beatrice Craig of Clyde; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Trinity Baptist Church, 871 Woodlawn, Abilene 79603.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Tommye Moss Woodfin
Tommye Moss Woodfin, 68, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Mike Cope and Dr. Grady Jolly officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in McCaulley Cemetery with Paul Landis officiating.
Mrs. Woodfin was born in Terry County and graduated from Anson High School. She attended Abilene Christian College, now Abilene Christian University, and married George Woodie Woodfin in 1959 in Abilene. She worked as a legal secretary for Roger Garrett for 10 years and was a member of Highland Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two sons, Dan Moss Woodfin of Tulsa, Okla., and Paul John Thomas Woodfin of Sweetwater; one brother, George Moss of Anson; three sisters, Evelyn Estep, Elaine Kasinger and Zulieme Bentley, all of Anson; and one grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Bill Bailey
ANSON -- Bill Bailey, 69, died Tuesday at his home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Prairie View Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Pittman and Jeffrey Fenwick officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Bailey was born in Silver Valley and lived in Anson most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran and married Mary Prescott Isbell in 1994 in Merkel. He was a self-employed truck driver and was a member of Prairie View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Anson; five daughters, Peggy Wallace of Stamford, Jackie Bennett of El Dorado, Ark., and Shirley Thomas, Debbie Moore and Patti Smith, all of Anson; one son, Billy Bailey of Abilene; four stepdaughters, Tammy Jimenez of Abilene, Christine Holland of Winnie, and Amy Light and Rachel Isbell, both of Anson; three stepsons, James Tyler of Merkel, Brock Isbell of Abilene and Carl Isbell of Hawley; two sisters, Pauline Wright of Odessa and Kathy Fox of Wichita Falls; one brother, Mac Bailey of Odessa; one stepbrother, Marvin Lovell of Hawley; 26 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dayle Nelson
POST -- Dayle Nelson, 62, father of an Abilene resident, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Post First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Cemetery, directed by Justice-Mason Funeral Home.
Mr. Nelson was born in Lynn County and attended school in Garnolia and Post. He married Mary Wilson in 1956 in Slaton and then moved to Post. He worked for Postex Cotton Mill for 30 years and Pride Pipeline from 1983 until retiring due to ill health in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, of Post; two daughters, Pat Bradbury of Guthrie and Donna Robinson of Abilene; one sister, Betty Striblin of Post; four grandchildren; one step grandchild; and one step great-grandchild.

Hershell Tankersley
KNOX CITY -- Hershell Tankersley, 72, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Foursquare Church with the Revs. Paul Chambers and Lee Wall officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Tankersley was born in Cliff in Haskell County and attended school in Cliff and O'Brien. He married Bonnie Snelson in 1942 in Knox City and was a farmer. He was a member of Foursquare Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Knox City; one son, Rick Tankersley of Dallas; one brother, Loyd Tankersley of San Diego; and one sister, Rene Tankersley of Knox City.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

Mary Stidham
EASTLAND -- Mary Stidham, 63, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bakker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Eastland Cemetery.
Mrs. Stidham was born in McRae, Ark., and grew up in Arkansas and Missouri. She married Charles Stidham in 1951 in McRae, Ark. She moved to Texas in 1964, and to Eastland in 1993 from Spicewood. She was a retired supermarket cashier.
Survivors include her husband, of Eastland; one son, Kenneth Stidham of Cisco; three daughters, Belinda Stidham of Austin, Patty Cole of Eastland and Juanita Mullins of New Braunfels; two brothers, Russell Mason of Kennett, Mo., and Gene Mason of La Mesa, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Sybil Nanny Henry
HASKELL -- Sybil Nanny Henry, 76, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Haskell First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shane Brue officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Henry was born in Paint Creek in Haskell County and was a member of the first graduating class at Paint Creek High School in 1939. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widow of William Herman Henry, whom she married in 1949 in Weatherford.
Survivors include one sister, Jewel Fancher of Corpus Christi; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Louise Winter
MERKEL -- Louise Winter, 76, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T.C. Melton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Winter was born in Nubia and graduated from Merkel High School. She attended Draughn's Business College and worked as a bank window teller in Liberal, Kan., and Perryton. She was the widow of Lewis Vernell Winter, whom she married in 1942 in Eastland.
Survivors include two brothers, D.J. Richie of Duncanville and Wayne Richie of Mineola; and several nieces and nephews.
