Kate Grace Mauldin Boyd
SWEETWATER - Kate Grace Mauldin Boyd, 86, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Broadway Baptist Church with the Rev. Lyndel Hix officiating. Burial will be in Newman Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Boyd was born in Jourdanton and lived in Fisher County and Roscoe before moving to Sweetwater in 1962. She had worked for Sweetwater Independent School District cafeterias and was a homemaker and a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She married L.B. Boyd in 1926 in Fischer County; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include seven sons, Billy Eldon Boyd and Richard Boyd, both of Abilene, L.B. Boyd Jr., Calvin Doyle Boyd and Arthur Ray Boyd, all of Sweetwater, A.P. Boyd of College Station and Horace Lee Boyd of Irving; one daughter, Nadine Rogers of Abernathy; one brother, Robert Lee Mauldin of Roby; 28 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Emmett Henson
SWEETWATER - Emmett T. Henson, 96, died Sunday at a local care center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wilson Cemetery in Wilson, Tex.
Mr. Henson was born in Shep and was a retired farmer and blacksmith. He was a Baptist. He married Della Irene Daniel in 1917 in Hilton; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Iva Oden of Lubbock; two sons, Vernon Henson and Robert Henson, both of Lake Coleman; one sister, Esta Redwine of San Angelo; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Charles Carter
COLORADO CITY - Charles Carter, 77, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter was born in Colorado City and was a member of the Church of Christ. He lived in California from 1939 until returning to Colorado City in 1995. He married Catherine Hodges in 1938; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Carter Jr. and John Carter, both of Oregon; one daughter, Kay Forward of Oregon; three sisters, Inez Hock and Sarah Gohery, both of Colorado City, and Louise Bollinger of Sweetwater; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Roop Parks
CISCO - Mary Roop Parks, 70, died Sunday in Breckenridge.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at I-20 Church of Christ with Larry Fitzgerald officiating, assisted by Gary Adams. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parks was born in Rush Springs, Okla., and was a secretary for Callarman Insurance Agency for several years. She was a member and former secretary of I-20 Church of Christ. She was the widow of Clarence Roop. She married Gerald Parks in 1963 in Cisco.
Survivors include her husband, of Cisco; five children, David Roop of Midland, Stephen Roop of Jackson, Miss., Jerry Parks of Benbrook, J. Parks of Burbank, Calif., and Jane Floyd of Aubrey; her mother, Sybil Urban of Gorman; three sisters, Nell Sherman of Eastland, Tena Fox of Big Spring and Melinda Patton of San Antonio; and eight grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Bobby Frank Hughs
TRENT - Bobby Frank Hughs, 67, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trent United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Davis and Dan Burroughs officiating. Burial will be in Trent Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Mr. Hughs was born in Trent and graduated from Trent High School in 1949. He attended Texas A&M College in Stephenville and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Fina Petroleum in Big Spring in 1985 after 25 years and was a contract pumper. He married Helen Horton in 1951 in Trent.
Survivors include his wife, of Trent; two daughters, Debbie Brown and Cyndi Hughs, both of Trent; and four grandchildren.

James "Jim" Yoder
James "Jim" Yoder, 49, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Church of God, 6102 S. 7th, with Rev. Gary Word officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Yoder was born in Wiloughby, Ohio. He married Chris Cook in 1978 in Painesville, Ohio. The couple moved to Abilene in 1979 and Mr. Yoder was employed by the city of Abilene in the Waste Management department as a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served two tours of duty. He was a member of Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, A.J. Tijerina of Abilene; four daughters, Stacey Gonzales of Abilene, Robin Baumgardt of San Antonio, Michelle Brown of Amarillo, and Jamie Lehr of Abilene; three sisters, Beverly, Dot and Donna of Ohio; and 15 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-9 p.m.

David Franklin Hanes III
David Franklin Hanes III, 66, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at University Church of Christ with Eddie Sharp and Randy Becton officiating. Burial will be in Stag Creek Cemetery in Commanche County, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Hanes was born in Gorman. He married Carol Schultz in Humble in 1973. He was a retired pipe fitter and carpenter. He also worked at Hendrick Medical Center and Abilene Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving two tours with the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was a member of Pipe Fitters Union #823 of Harlingen. He was a member of University Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Eula; two sons, Darrell Franklin Hanes of Etna, Calif., and Tom Conkling of Guam; four daughters, Florence Gregson of Houston, Joni Henry of Spring, Kathy Huffman of Sweetwater, and Karen DeLaVega of Plano; one brother, Ken Hanes of Round Rock; three sisters, Mary Alice Foster of Lubbock, Betty Jo Harston of Tahoka, and Maxine Fryburger of Seminole; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lloyd C. Easley
Lloyd C. Easley, 48, died Sunday in a Big Spring Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Ballou and Dr. Phil Christopher officiating. The burial will be directed by Elliot-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Mr. Easley was born in Paris, Texas, and moved to Abilene from Lubbock in 1960. He was a Vietnam veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He worked in the oilfield and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother, Ann Cook of Abilene; three sons, Scott Easley of Abilene, Clint Easley of Palestine, and J.B. Easley of Tyler; two brothers, Mike Easley of Abilene and Kelley Easley of Rockwall; one sister, Jean Easley of Dallas; and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-9 p.m.

Maxine P. Couch
GUSTINE -- Maxine P. Couch, 88, died Monday in the Abilene Regional Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating. Interment will follow in the Albin Cemetery near Pettit under the direction of Hall & Sons Funeral Home of Comanche.
Mrs. Couch was the daughter of the late Lee and Mae Braim Patton. She married James S. Couch on May 10, 1929. Mr. Couch preceded her in death July 5, 1990. She was a lifelong member of the Pettit Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a seamstress, having been employed in the sewing plant in Comanche and Dublin.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Smith of Gustine; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three step great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:30-8 p.m. Lunch for the family will be at the Pettit Baptist Church Wednesday at noon.
Memorials may be made to the Albin Cemetery Association.
