Hugh T. Herring
Stephenville - Hugh T. Herring, 93, died Monday at Community Nursing Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Nix and Dr. E. Richard Chaffin officiating. The burial at Gardens of Memory Cemetery will be directed by Stephenville Funeral Home.
Mr. Herring was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene. He attended North Texas and Tarleton State universities. He lived his adult life in Stephenville and worked as a realtor.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Herring; three daughters, Mary Ann Chaffin of Cross Plains, Ruth Blanton of San Antonio, and Joy Cooper of Combine; three brothers, Ted Herring of Mertens, David Herring of Seattle, and Ed Herring of Wichita Falls; one sister-in-law; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Martin 'Jack' Barker
Martin L. "Jack" Barker, 67, lifelong Abilene resident, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Parker officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Barker was born in Abilene and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a carpenter. He also was employed in the oil field by Sojourner and West Central Texas Drilling before retiring. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Michael Barker of Abilene; one daughter, Cheryl Marr of Abilene; one brother, Gary Sparks of Abilene; 10 grandchildren; two nieces; and several cousins.
The family will be at 3573 N. 10th.

Ada Johnson
Ada Johnson, 89, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Curtis Johnson and the Revs. Adell Carroll and Robert Giles officiating, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Monroe, La., where she attended school, and moved to Taylor County in 1935. She was a homemaker and worked for 42 years for the Gene Thornton Family. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Gay Johnson, whom she married in 1944 in Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Curtis Johnson of Abilene; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be at 5466 Capitol and 352 Lancaster Dr.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Mary Roberson Inman
CLYDE -- Mary Roberson Inman, 93, died Tuesday at her daughter's home near Clyde.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Oplin Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Burrow officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Inman was born in Pioneer and attended school in Oplin. She moved, in 1949, to Abilene, where she worked for Lanford and Sons as a seamstress for several years. She was employed by the Abilene State School for 16 years until retiring in 1969. She moved to the Clyde area in the 1970s and was the widow of Carl M. Roberson, whom she married in 1923 in Oplin; and Francis Neal Inman, whom she married in 1972.
Survivors include one daughter, Carlene Brooks of Clyde; two sons, Leonard Roberson of Rosebud, Ark., and Conrad Roberson of Odessa; one stepdaughter and two stepsons; two sisters, Christine Carrell of Baird and Minnie Grant of Lawn; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian Lavonia Sullivan
NOVICE -- Lillian Lavonia Sullivan, 95, of San Francisco and formerly of Novice, died Wednesday in a San Francisco hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Walker Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be in Rough Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Mertens and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Loyd Greer, whom she married in 1920 in Novice; and Thomas John Sullivan, whom she married in 1943 in Novice.
Survivors include one daughter, Audrey Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Jack D. Greer of San Francisco; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Travis Donald Kneese
EARLY -- Travis Donald Kneese, 57, died Tuesday in Brownwood.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Sipe and Calvin Knight officiating. Burial will be in Goldthwaite Cemetery.
Mr. Kneese was born in Bandera County and married Louise Slaughter in 1962. He moved from Fredericksburg to Kerrville, where he worked in the fire department for 20 years until retiring as a captain. He was an oilfield geologist for 13 years in North Texas before becoming an independent jewelry crafter. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Early; one daughter, Deborah Henke; two sisters, Clara Schuch and Sherrie Tomlinson, both of Fredericksburg; one brother, Royce Kneese; four grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and eight great nieces and great nephews.

Charles Fade
ALBANY -- Charles W. Fade, 69, of Montague and formerly of Albany, died Tuesday in a Bowie hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Clifford Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mr. Fade was born in Albany and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from Braniff Airlines and was a Presbyterian.
Survivors include one daughter, Jane Hodge of Montague; two sons, Carlton Fade of Fort Worth and Charles Fade of Irving; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Audrey Altman
Audrey Altman, 64, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with Chaplain James Teel officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Altman was born in Chelmsford Essex, England, and was a child during the bombing of Britain and Battle of Britain. She married Billie R. Altman in 1954 in England and lived in Texas, California, Washington, England and Oklahoma.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one daughter, Sabrina Ford of Abilene; one son, Billy R. Altman Jr. of Abilene; and one grandchild.

Retired Air Force Master Sgt. John Overholtzer
Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. John R. Overholtzer, 68, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. LaVern Janssen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Overholtzer was born in Maryland and married Rosita Yulores in 1957 in the Philippines. He was in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic for 26 years before retiring in 1975. He also worked at the Dyess Inn for 13 years. He moved to Abilene in 1979 from California and was a member of U.S.P.F.O. and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Geraldine Overholtzer of California; one stepson, Manuel Dacumos of Abilene; one brother, Danny Overholtzer of Maryland; five sisters; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
