Fred Charles Chappell
Fred Charles Chappell, 39, died Friday.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Chappell was born in Vancouver, Wash., and was a self-employed welder.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Chappell of Colorado City; two sons, Justin Chappell and Jessie Chappell, both of Washington state; two daughters, Sylvia Chappell and Thresa Chappell, both of Washington state; one brother, John Allen Chappell of Mira Loma, Calif.; and one sister, Bonnie Eudora Blechinger of Georgia.

Jack Wilson Sr.
HAMLIN -- Jack T. Wilson Sr., 69, died Thursday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hamlin First Baptist Church with the Revs. Tracy Watson and Rufus Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson was born in Rising Star and married Letha Flippens in 1946 in Abilene. He worked as a cement contractor and finisher before retiring in 1987. He moved to Hamlin in 1993 from Abilene and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; one son, Jack T. Wilson Jr. of Hamlin; one sister, LaVern Seals of Robert Lee; two half-brothers, Albert Cotten of De Leon and Jay Cotten of Comanche; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Clara Mae Stewart Goins Kitchens
RANGER -- Clara Mae Stewart Goins Kitchens, 93, died Thursday in an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Ken Colegrove officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kitchens was born in Brownwood and moved to Ranger in 1933. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church and was the widow of Lawrence Kitchens.
Survivors include one son, Howard Goins of Abilene; one brother, Cecil Stewart of Olden; one sister, Geneva Thurman of Ranger; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Merced Perales Martinez
COLORADO CITY -- Merced Perales Martinez, 50, of San Bernardino, Calif., and formerly of Colorado City, died Aug. 28 in San Bernardino.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Revs. Mike Goode, Ray Wilhelm and Tim Guthridge officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell County Cemetery.
Mrs. Martinez was born in Colorado City, where she married Antonio L. Martinez in 1976, and worked as a computer clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in San Bernardino, Calif. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in San Bernardino, Calif.
Survivors include her husband, of San Bernardino, Calif.; one son, Manuel Martinez of San Bernardino, Calif.; two sisters, Angelina Villa of Sweetwater and Virginia Mendoza of Colorado City; and three nephews and one niece.

Willard Curtis McGough
SEYMOUR -- Willard Curtis McGough, 82, formerly of Woodson, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Bart J. Landwermeyer officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Woodson Cemetery, directed by Archer Funeral Home.
Mr. McGough was born in Woodson and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Mary Catherine Dwyer in 1945 in Cambridge, Mass., and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Precinct 3 in Throckmorton County for 16 years. He moved to Seymour in 1973 from Woodson and was employed by Durable Medical Equipment.
Survivors include his wife, of Seymour; one son, Roy Neil McGough of Seymour; one brother, Duane McGough of Borger; four sisters, Mary Johnson of Fort Worth, Mable Larned of Breckenridge, Ruby Mitchell of Albany and Yvonne Roberts of Moran; and four grandchildren.
The body will be at Woodson Church of Christ from noon-1:45 p.m. Saturday.

W.H. 'Huse' Narrell
LORAINE -- W.H. "Huse" Narrell, 90, died Wednesday in a Colorado City hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Loraine First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Mr. Narrell was born near Loraine and worked as a Minneapolis-Moline dealer in Colorado City for many years. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a director of Roscoe State Bank and Federal Land Bank and served as mayor of Loraine. He also was a Loraine school board president and was a member of Loraine Masonic Lodge. He was the widower of Kate Stewart Narrell, whom he married in 1924 in Loraine.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye Smith of Loraine and Beth Taylor of Sweetwater; one son, Don Narrell of Midland; and three grandchildren.

W.H. 'Red' Rainwater
SNYDER -- W.H. "Red" Rainwater, 82, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in 37th Street Church of Christ with Bill Looney officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Rainwater was born in Damridge, Tenn., and moved to Scurry County in 1922. He was a longtime Snyder resident. He married Jetahn Floyd in 1940 in Snyder and served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked as a carpenter and painter and was a member of 37th Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Snyder; one daughter, Karen Ritchey of Plainview; one son, Max Rainwater of Benjamin; two sisters, Mildred Browne of Cuthbert and Thula Whatley of Snyder; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Tyson Witt Shelton
EL PASO -- Tyson Witt Shelton, relative of two Winters residents, died Wednesday.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. today in Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, directed by Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Shelton graduated from Coronado High School in 1996 and was a district pole vault champion in high school.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Sally Shelton; one sister, Sara Shelton; his grandparents, Jim and Lena Witt of Sherman; his grandmother and step grandfather, Bobbie and Charles Ludwick of Winters; one uncle and one aunt; and six cousins.

Grace Stanaland
JAYTON -- Grace Stanaland, 71, lifelong local resident, died Thursday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jayton Assembly of God with the Revs. H.T. Stanaland Jr. and John Murdoch officiating, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mrs. Stanaland was born in Jayton, where she graduated from high school in 1944, and was a homemaker. She worked for the Rolling Plains Diapause Program from 1977-82. She was a member of the Assembly of God and was the widow of Wayne Stanaland, whom she married in 1944 in Aspermont.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Holder of Welch and LaDonna Nix of Lubbock; three sons, Billy Stanaland and Tommy Stanaland, both of Jayton, and Bobby Stanaland of Plainview; one sister, Jean Stanford of Rotan; two brothers, L.C. Huchingson of Rotan and Willie Huchingson of Arlington; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lyndon 'Lynn' Hammond
MERKEL -- Lyndon "Lynn" O. Hammond, 68, of Arlington, brother of a Merkel resident, died Thursday in Arlington.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Rayburn Blair and Greg Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hammond was born in Nolan, where he attended Divide High School, and was a veteran of the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. He retired as a master sergeant after a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in purchasing and distributing for LTV Aircraft from 1967 until retiring in 1994 and was a member of Nolan Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Hershel L. Hammond of Merkel and Walter Willis Hammond of Lovington, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
