Sara Martinez Jara
ROTAN -- Sara Martinez Jara, 76, of Fort Worth and formerly of Rotan, died Friday in Arlington.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Johnrose Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery.
Mrs. Jara was born in Rotan. She was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Fort Worth and was the widow of Vincent Jara, whom she married in 1957.
Survivors include one son, Anthony V. Jara of Fort Worth; one daughter, Graci King of Fort Worth; two brothers, Alex Martinez of Keene, N.H., and Emilio Martinez of Abilene; one grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Lester Dan Eckert
SNYDER -- Lester Dan Eckert, 68, died Friday in a Lubbock hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Culwell and Milton Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Eckert was born in Mereta and moved to Scurry County in 1944. He graduated from Fluvanna High School. He lived and farmed in Fluvanna for many years and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He married Delores Stewart in 1955 in Snyder and later worked as an oilfield contract gang pusher. He was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Snyder; two daughters, Lavonda Eckert of Big Spring and Lujean Eckert of Snyder; one son, Danny Eckert of San Angelo; three sisters, Mattie Edith "Sis" Mull of San Angelo, and Annie Eckert and Mary Eckert, both of Big Spring; one brother, Dr. Miles A. Eckert of Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Lester Wyatt
CROSS PLAINS -- Lester M. Wyatt, 62, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Chaffin officiating. Burial will be in Cross Plains Cemetery.
Mr. Wyatt was born in Brownwood and married Betty Ann Barnes in 1954 in Coleman. He worked as an oilfield driller and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Cross Plains; three sons, Eddie Wyatt, Tony Wyatt and Curtis Wyatt, all of Cross Plains; one daughter, Leslie Horan of Cross Plains; one brother, Darrell Wyatt of Cross Plains; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two aunts; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

C.P. 'Pete' Wallace
SEMINOLE -- C.P. "Pete" Wallace, 90, formerly of Roscoe, died Friday in a local care facility.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in South Seminole Baptist Church with the Rev. Shane Kinnison officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Roscoe Cemetery, directed by Roger Pool Funeral Home.
Mr. Wallace was born in Cooper and married Odell Miller in 1927 in Roscoe. He moved to Seminole in 1954 from Springer, N.M., and farmed until retiring in 1988. He was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Seminole; three daughters, Ada Mogford of Seminole, Claudell Moore of Ontario, Calif., and Janice Jackson of Odessa; five sisters, Bessie Huie and Dolly Jackson, both of Cooper, Cora Coomer of Greenville, Della Faye Gilmore of Graford and Snook Wilson of Paris, Texas; two brothers, Preston Wallace of Grand Prairie and Toby Wallace of Paris, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Wade Haynes
ANSON -- Wade L. Haynes, 82, local civic leader, died Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Anson First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Loren Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Haynes was born in Hamilton and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1941. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and married Frances Pittard in 1946 in Lawrenceville, Ill. He worked as a civil engineer for Humble Oil and Refining in Baytown before moving to Anson in 1971. He was a farmer. He was a partner in the 40-lot subdivision northeast of Anson General Hospital and served on the Anson City Council. He was a director of the West Central Texas Council of Governments, Anson Industrial Foundation and Anson Housing Development Corp., and was a member of the Elks Club, Masonic Lodge and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Anson; two daughters, Kay Haynes of Anson and Pam Petty of Aubrey; one son, Wade S. Haynes of Anson; two sisters, Jeannette Splawn of Irving and Kathleen Martin of Houston; and six grandchildren.

Gloria Tubb
BROWNWOOD -- Gloria E. Tubb, 66, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains with Knox Waggoner officiating. Burial will be in Cross Cut Cemetery.
Mrs. Tubb was born in Alexander and married William Tubb in 1967 in Fort Worth. She worked as a salesperson and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of Brownwood; three daughters, Linda Clark of Cross Plains, Cherryl Garrett of Santo and Lois Talent of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Tennie Todd
ANSON -- Tennie B. Todd, 88, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Hawley Cemetery with the Rev. David Edwards officiating, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Todd was born in Jack County and moved to Anson in 1981 from Tulia. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Clyde Todd, whom she married in 1930 in Clovis, N.M.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Lovell of Anson; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Onnie Livingston
Onnie Livingston, 78, a longtime Taylor County resident, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Light Baptist Church with Leo F. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
She was born in Raingo, La., where she attended school. She was a member of New Light Baptist Church and was a domestic worker for the Guy McCarty family.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Parremore of Abilene.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today and at 550 N. 8th.

Donald Wayne Ellison
Donald Wayne Ellison, 55, of Hawley, died Friday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Revs. Don Meyers and Wayne Oglesby officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery.
Mr. Ellison was born in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and married Ann Lacy in 1966 in Abilene. He moved to Hawley in 1970 from Abilene and worked as a truck driver for the Abilene State School for 15 years. He was a member of Hawley First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Hawley; two daughters, Debbie Olney and Elizabeth Ellison, both of Hawley; his mother, Velma Burton Ellison of Abilene; one half-brother, Homer Lee Ellison Jr. of Abilene; two half-sisters, Pauline Rushing of Abilene and Rosalie Wimberley of Kansas City, Mo.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
