Mrs. Dan (Gertrude) Gaines
Mrs. Dan L. (Gertrude) Gaines, 95, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Don Cauble and Bob Colin officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gaines was born near Jonesboro, Ark., and graduated from high school in May, Tex. She attended Howard Payne College and moved to Abilene from Brownwood in 1946. She was a minister's wife and taught senior adult ladies in Sunday school for more than 20 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church. She married the Rev. Dan Gaines in 1926 in May; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann (Mrs. Wade) Sanders of Abilene; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Lena Mae (Mrs. Fred) Henry
Lena Mae (Mrs. Fred G.) Henry died Saturday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 South.
Mrs. Henry was born in Little Rock, Ark., and had lived in Abilene for more than 41 years. She married Fred G. Henry in Sapulpa, Okla.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Wally (Jane) Reed of Dallas; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Mary Lou Kelley
STAMFORD - Mary Lou Kelley, 83, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Central Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Paul McGlasson officiating. Burial will be in Rule Cemetery, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Lubbock and graduated from Texas Technological College in 1936 with a bachelor's degree. She taught school from 1936-1974 in Rule, Llano, Lubbock and Marfa. She moved to Stamford from Marfa in 1987 and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. She married Nolan Kelley in 1938 in Houston; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sisters-in-law, including Faye Kelley and Rita Kelley, both of Stamford; two brothers-in-law, including Roland Kelley of Stamford; five nieces and six nephews.
Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church of Stamford; Stamford Memorial Hospital; Marfa Public Library; or Marfa-Presidio County Museum Association.

Ruby Clemmer
ROCHESTER - Ruby S. Clemmer, 99, died Saturday at a Haskell nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Rochester Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Ms. Clemmer was born in Wolfe City and was a homemaker and a Baptist. She moved to Rochester after marrying John Clemmer in 1924 in Dallas. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include three cousins, Charles Swinson and Muriel Nanny, both of Haskell, and Joyce Bass of Humble.

Charlie Sanders
SAN ANGELO - Charlie Sanders, 65, of Grape Creek died Saturday at his home.
Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Cathedral with the Rev . Charles Greenwell officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, directed by Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Sanders was born in San Angelo, where he lived all his life. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971 as a master sergeant. He judged horses for the Dixie Nationals in Mississippi and the 1994 Fort Worth Stock Show. He was past president of Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmye Sanders of Paint Creek; three nieces, including Barbara Berry of Anson; one nephew, an aunt and several other relatives.

Bernice Mangum
EASTLAND - Bernice L. Mangum, 94, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Bakker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery in Carbon.
Mrs. Mangum was born in Bolivar and grew up around Post. She came to Eastland County in 1921 and was a homemaker and a member of Carbon United Methodist Church. She married Owen Mangum in 1920 in Post; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Owen Mangum of Pryor, Okla., and Jimmy Mangum of Vidor; five daughters, Jean Burgett of Animas, N.M., Marjorie Green of Derby, Kan., Ramona Scott of Tyler, Bobbie Sue Harbin of Eastland and Ann Higginbottom of Potosi; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and two nieces.

Ruth Fryar Sanders
CISCO - Ruth Fryar Sanders, 86, formerly of Cisco, died Sunday at a Belton nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco with the Rev. Wiley Zinn officiating, directed by Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Sanders was born in Piedmont, Ala., and moved to Cisco in 1935. She was a Southwestern Bell Telephone operator. She moved to Temple in 1982, where she was a member of First Christian Church and Telephone Pioneers of America. She married Aubrey Sanders in 1931 in Carlsbad, N.M.; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Dorothy Ann) Hammond of Temple and Mrs. W.C. (Mary Ellen) Ellis Jr. of Lubbock; one brother, Olen Fryar of Brownwood; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Ivan Doyle Martin
Ivan Doyle Martin, 89, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Baker Heights Church of Christ with Bob Childress, Jennings Craig and Jimmy Jividen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park with Bill Baskett officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. Martin was born in Erath County and graduated from high school in Corpus Christi. He retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy and also worked for Civil Service for 10 years. He moved to Abilene from Trona, Calif., in 1977. He was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ; he was a minister and had preached there as well as in Aspermont and Lawn. He married Evelyn Inez Miller in 1933 in Compton, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Billy D. Martin and Darrell W. Martin, both of Abilene, and Bobby A. Martin of Snyder; one brother, Lesley F. Martin of Beaumont; two sisters, Wynona Shaw and Sybil O'Rear, both of Refugio; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Minnie 'Min' Williams
GRANBURY - Minnie B. "Min" Williams, 89, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Hiram Johnson and John Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Holly Hills Memorial Park, directed by Wiley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born in Abilene and graduated from McMurry College in 1928 with a bachelor's degree and from Hardin-Simmons University in 1950 with a master's degree. She taught school in Benjamin, Abilene, Loraine, Colorado City and Irving for 31 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas State Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association, First United Methodist Church and The Wednesday Club and was a life member of United Methodist Women and Hood General Hospital Auxiliary. She married Ed Williams of Granbury in 1930; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Gene Williams of Abilene, Bill Williams of Irving and Bob Williams of Cleburne; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.
