Emma Jean Steel
RISING STAR -- Emma Jean Steel, 83, editor of the Rising Star newspaper, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dick Williams officiating, assisted by Terry Simmons. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery in Early, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Steel was born in Hope, Ark., and moved to Rising Star in 1938. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Saturday Club and First Baptist Church. She married George Steel in 1936 in May.
Survivors include her husband, of Rising Star; one son, James Steel of Dallas; one daughter, Karen Power of Comanche; one brother, Joe Bailey of Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Jody Posey Richardson
WICHITA FALLS -- Jody Posey Richardson, 73, died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Brownfield officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Colorado City Cemetery in Colorado City.
Mrs. Richardson was born in Colorado City and moved to Wichita Falls from Fort Worth in 1986. She worked for the Tax Collector Office from 1953-1961. She was a bookkeeper and office manager at car dealerships in Midland, Wichita Falls, Dallas and Fort Worth. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She married Sam Smartt Richardson in 1942 in Big Spring; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sammye Jo Waldrip of Wichita Falls; two sons, Terry Lee Richardson of Nacogdoches and Tommy Ray Richardson of Fort Worth; one sister, Jerry Strain of Colorado City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
The family will be at the funeral home following services.

Thelma Kent
SWEETWATER -- Thelma M. Kent, 86, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sweetwater Cemetery with the Rev. Cecil Deadman and H.M. Tomlinson officiating, directed by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kent was born in McCullough County and was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Owen Kent in 1934 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include her husband, of Sweetwater; one son, Joe Kent of San Angelo; one brother, A.J. Ludwick of San Angelo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Floyd Mark McClellan
COLEMAN -- Floyd Mark McClellan, 73, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gaylan McClellan. Burial will be in Gouldbusk Cemetery.
Mr. McClellan was born in Voss and grew up in the Voss-Gouldbusk area. He graduated from Mozelle High School and moved to Coleman 11 years ago after living in Burkburnett for 3 -1/2 years and Tye for 15 years. He was retired from Permian Corporation. He was a member of Concho Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school and served as a trustee. He married Alma Jo Bowen in 1946 in Gouldbusk.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; two sons, Gaylan McClellan of Fort Worth and Hollis McClellan of Liberty; one daughter, Gloria Lemond of Kerrville; two sisters, Marie Anderson of Voss and Wanell Thomas of Coleman; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the donor's favorite charity.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

John Thomas Dunnam
BIG SPRING -- John Thomas Dunnam, 75, who operated service stations in Tuscola and Winters, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Tuscola Cemetery in Tuscola, directed by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Dunnam was born in Hylton and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He operated a Gulf service station in Tuscola and in 1949 opened and operated Dunnam Brothers Humble station in Winters. They moved to Big Spring in 1950 and worked for Cabot Corporation until 1980. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He married Ann Graham in 1942 in Ballinger; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Dunnam of Victoria and Barry Dunnam of Big Spring; and three sisters, Evalena Louise Sturdivant of Orange Grove, Alvis Lee of Odessa and Joanna Marshall of Sand Springs.
Memorials may be made to Living Water Ministries in Big Spring; or Victoria Preservation, Inc., Courthouse Restoration Fund, Victoria.

Joel Flores Sr.
Joel Flores Sr., 49, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Good News Temple, 1164 Minter Lane, with the Rev. Ben Gonzalez officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. Flores was born and lived all his life in Abilene. He attended Abilene schools and was a self-employed maintenance man and a member of Good News Temple. He married Eva Ginter in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; his mother, Elvira Flores of Abilene; two sons, Joel Flores Jr. and Marcus Flores, both of Abilene; two stepsons, Matthew Ciezki and Robert Ciezki, both of Abilene; two daughters, Tracy Denise Flores and Ashley Flores, of Abilene; four brothers, Isaac Flores of Houston, Eliseo Flores of Amarillo and Adriel Flores Sr. and Robert Flores, both of Abilene; four sisters, Alice Lyons of Abilene, Esther Terrell of Arlington, Anita Alcorta of Groves and Eunice Sotelo of Amarillo; and five grandchildren.

Danny Treece
Danny Treece, 50, died Oct. 21 in Paramaribo, Suriname, South America.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Scott Mayer officiating. The body will be cremated.
Mr. Treece was born in Detroit, Mich., and had lived in Abilene since 1990. He attended the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal. He grew up in Romulus, Mich., and graduated from Romulus High School. He was employed by Maritime Services of Hood River, Ore., and previously worked at ACI in Abilene. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include two sons, Chad R. Treece of Thornton, Colo., and David L. Treece of New Braunfels; one brother, Larry Treece of Ypsilanti, Mich.; one sister, Betty Dow of Athens, Tex.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Abilene State School, 2501 Maple, Abilene 79602.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Gabriel Nathaniel Lara
Gabriel Nathaniel Lara, 8 months, died Friday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy. 277 South, with the Rev. Robert Bush officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil's Garden of Memories.
Gabriel was born in Snyder and moved to Abilene two months later.
Survivors include his parents, Gonzalo and Diana Lara of Abilene; one stepsister, Randalynn Michele Lara of Lake Charles, La.; grandparents Ron and Diane Mowles of Snyder and Jose and Cecilia Lara of Snyder.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today.

Faye Andress
HAMLIN - Faye Andress, 84, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlin Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Randy Larpenteur and Jeff Sedberry officiating. Burial will be in McCaulley Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Andress was born in McCaulley and lived in the McCaulley-Hamlin area all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Hamlin Church of the Nazarene and the Hamlin Senior Citizens and Quilting Club. She married L.R. Andress in 1934 in McCaulley; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Autry Don Andress of Plano and Ray Alan Andress of Abilene; one daughter, Frankie Jo Baker of Monroe, La.; one brother, Clinton Maberry of Duncanville; two sisters, Laverne Teague of San Angelo and Sue Smith of McCaulley; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
