Natalie Pouncey
BROWNWOOD -- Natalie G. Pouncey, 79, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Greenleaf Cemetery with the Rev. F.L. Bradley officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mrs. Pouncey was born in Wellesly, Mass., and graduated from high school in Massachusetts. She was a homemaker and moved to Brownwood in 1945. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd and was the widow of Lowell C. Pouncey, whom she married in 1942 in Dover, Mass.
Survivors include one son, John Clayton Pouncey of Austin; one sister, Gladys Treadwell of Dover, Mass.; and several grandchildren.

Raven Tena Garcia
STEPHENVILLE -- Raven Tena Garcia, infant daughter of Scott and Teresa Watson Garcia of Stephenville, was stillborn Tuesday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Siloam Cemetery near Gustine, directed by Hall & Sons Funeral Home of Comanche.
Other survivors include one sister, Emylie Paige Garcia; her paternal grandfather, Jose Luis Vidana of Burns Flat, Okla.; her maternal grandparents, Judy and Gary Watson of Stephenville; and her maternal great-grandparents, Roy Edinburg of Stephenville and Helen Edinburg of Comanche.

Edward 'Eddie' Like
Edward "Eddie" F. Like, 60, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Lee Walls officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Like was born in Cleburne and was employed by D/B Drilling for five years and Conrail Railroad for 2-1/2 years. He moved to Abilene from Fort Worth in 1960 and was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of Lodge 559, Blue Lodge, York Rite and Knights Templar and of Four Square Gospel Church. He married Donnas Fern McGrew in 1972.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Edward Like and Larry Joseph Like, both of Abilene; one daughter, Rose Jean Like of Abilene; three stepsons, Larry Wayne Sutton, Michael Jeffery McGrew and Billy Don McGrew, all of Abilene; his mother, Lois Marie Like of Fort Worth; one brother, Vernon Dale Like of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Barbara Jean Fleming of Edmond, Okla.; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Howard Torrey Gleason
Howard Torrey Gleason, 76, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Potosi Baptist Church with the Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Gleason was born in Jack County and moved to Abilene from Jacksboro in 1946. He was a Baptist and a member of American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a special delivery messenger. He married Cherry Minga Moore in 1967 in Menard.
Survivors include his wife, of Potosi; three sons, Terry Gleason of Potosi, H.T. Gleason Jr. of Clyde and Robert Gleason of Tuscola; one brother, Aaron Gleason of Albany; one sister, Betty Nelson of Mineral Wells; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Albert West
Albert R. West, 67, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Baker Heights Church of Christ with Bob Connel officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. West was born in McCaulley and attended school in McCaulley, Talpa and Hamlin. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and moved to Abilene from Hamlin in 1961. He was an Army veteran and a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ. He married Nelta Jean Scott in 1954 in Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Nathan Rory West of Seminole; one daughter, Sherry Ellen Carmona of Spring; two sisters, Ola Lee Wilson of Hurst and Sue Lawlis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren, three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Thelma Lee Ford
Thelma Lee Ford, 89, died Friday at a North Bergen, N.J., nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Archie Echols and Dr. David Hamblin officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Ford was born in Merkel and attended Sweetwater High School and Texas Women's College in Fort Worth. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a teacher's diploma. She lived in Abilene from 1938-1993, when she moved to New Jersey. She was a member and choir member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and of A.A.R.P. She married Walter Wortham Ford in 1929 in Sweetwater; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Ford of New York, N.Y.; one brother, Otto Carter Jr. of Abilene; one sister, Katherine Wells of Richardson; and two grandchildren.

Bert Farris
COLEMAN - Bert G. Farris, 87, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery, directed by Walker Funeral Home.
Mr. Farris was born in Arden and lived in Coleman all his life. He was an independent trucker and drove a school bus for the Coleman Independent School District for 35 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He married Annie Will Smith in 1932 in Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; one daughter, Patsy Burns of Abilene; one son, Bert Wayne Farris of Coleman; one sister, Willie Pearl Baker of Coleman; one brother, W.W. "Wallace" Farris of Coleman; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Ruby Thompson
COLEMAN - Ruby J. Thompson, 85, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Home Chapel with James Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.
Miss Thompson was born in Coleman County, where she lived all her life. She grew up in the Cleveland and Trickham area. She was a nurse's aide and a member of Coleman Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sisters, Juanita Sneed of Hemet, Calif., Louise Walker of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Eitha Jennings of Goldthwaite and Virginia Jennings of Abilene; and two nephews.

Oneta Cates
CROWELL - Oneta Cates, 87, died Sunday at a Vernon hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Leslie Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Crowell Cemetery, directed by Womack-Manard Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cates was born in Crowell and attended Dixie, Thaila and Crowell schools, graduating from Crowell High School. She attended Wayland College and West Texas Baptist Hospital Nursing School in Abilene, graduating in 1935. She was employed by the hospital and later attended college in Michigan. She returned to Abilene and was employed by Hendrick Memorial Hospital. She moved to Detroit, Mich., in 1945, where she worked for many years. She retired from Hendrick Memorial Hospital in 1978 and was a retirement center hostess until 1979. She returned to Foard County in 1985.
Survivors include two sister, Edith Johnson of Kingsland and Faye Whitman of Thalia; one brother, T.R. Cates of Thaila; and several nieces and nephews.
