Lorene Beeler
COLEMAN -- Lorene Beeler, 86, named Rural Citizen of the Year in the early 1980s by the Coleman Chamber of Commerce, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Hammonds officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mrs. Beeler was born in Nacogdoches and moved to Coleman County at a young age. She attended school in Rae-Echo and worked as a supervisor at Jinright Manufacturing in Coleman. She helped start the Rae-Echo Jamboree and was active in the group for many years. She also was active in the Circle C Cowbelles, Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary and Overall-Morris Hospital Auxiliary, and was a nursing home volunteer. She was a member of First Baptist Church and formerly taught Sunday school. She was the widow of Benton Beeler, whom she married in 1926 in Brownwood.
Survivors include one sister, Bobbie Lee Gardner of Coleman; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Louise Isabell Conroy
Louise Isabell Conroy, 75, of Arlington, relative of two Abilene residents, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Sunday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Bush officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Ms. Conroy was born in Farmingdale, N.Y.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Ulino of Cape Coral, Fla., Linda Wood of Lewisville and Jean Pena of Abilene; two brothers, Vincent Nuzzi of Abilene and Fred Nuzzi of New York, N.Y.; one sister, Theresa Koza of Cape Coral, Fla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Harold Dean Rister
CLYDE -- Harold Dean Rister, 62, died Friday at his brother's home in Clyde.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Eula Cemetery with R.C. Wiley officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Rister was born in Coleman and worked as a musician and sign painter. He returned to the Abilene area in 1994 from Nashville, Tenn., and was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Kerry Dean Rister of Midland and Monty Kyle Rister of Eula; one daughter, Kayla Marie Burleson of Abilene; three brothers, Billy Don Rister of Stephenville, Ed Rister of Clyde and James Rister of Nashville, Tenn.; five sisters, Edith Cannon of Eula, Mildred Ash of Mansfield, Doris Thacker and Geraldine Terry, both of Abilene, and Barbara Rains of Lubbock; and six grandchildren.

Aline Menefee
DALLAS -- Aline Menefee, 70, mother of an Abilene resident, died Friday in Lewisville.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Menefee was born in Hill County and was the widow of W.O. "Oscar" Menefee.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Head of Lewisville and Linda Hasten of Abilene; one sister, Hazel Davis of Paris, Texas; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bedford Forest 'Frosty' Bowers
ROUND ROCK -- Bedford Forest "Frosty" Bowers, 84, brother of two Breckenridge residents, died Wednesday.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Balmorhea Cemetery, directed by Cook-Waldren-Condra Funeral Home.
Mr. Bowers was born in Mobeetie and co-owned Bowers and Kelly Dirt Construction Co. in Pecos for many years. He also ranched in West Texas. He was the widower of Sarah Annelle Peck Bowers.
Survivors include one daughter, Marquita Wanslow of Round Rock; two sons, Charles Newton Bowers of Pecos and David Floyd Bowers of San Antonio; four sisters, Marie Green of Riverside, Calif., Laura Haynes and Margie Alsup, both of Breckenridge, and Annie McClung of Cantonment, Fla.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jewel Ray 'J.R.' Clements
GRAHAM -- Jewel Ray "J.R." Clements, 90, formerly of Cisco, died Friday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, directed by Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Directors of Cisco.
Mr. Clements was born in Cisco. He married Bessie Preston in 1928 in Cisco and worked as a pumper for Texaco for many years.
Survivors include his wife, of Graham; and two sons, Walter R. Clements of Arlington and John H. Clements of Graham.

Alva Camp
HASKELL -- Alva Camp, 76, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Rochester Cemetery with Travis Boyd officiating, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Camp was born in Rotan and farmed in Rochester for many years until retiring in 1974. She then moved to Haskell. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Hayden Camp, whom she married in 1937 in Knox City.
Survivors include two sons, Herchel Camp of Haskell and Herbert Camp of Lubbock; three daughters, Doris Lowrey of Farmington, N.M., Joe Nell Camp of Haskell and Virginia Camp of Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Marjorie Taylor Williams
GORMAN -- Marjorie Taylor Williams, 81, of Odessa and formerly of Gorman, died Friday in a Midland hospital after a long illness.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Gorman Cemetery with Scott Sheppard officiating, directed by Myers & Smith Funeral Home of Big Spring.
Mrs. Williams was born in Gorman and moved to Big Spring in 1942. She returned to Gorman in 1970 and Big Spring in 1991. She moved to Odessa in 1993. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was the widow of C.M. "Clarence" Williams, whom she married in 1934 in Gorman.
Survivors include three sons, James Williams of Kerens, Johnie Williams of Sand Springs and Don Williams of Stephenville; two daughters, Judy Brandon of Odessa and Jean Teague of Midland; three sisters, Jolene Bennett of Big Spring, Maudell Poyner and Merle Boyce, both of Gorman; one brother, Earl Taylor of Brownfield; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary Frances Daniel Bunch
Mary Frances Daniel Bunch, 66, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Bunch was born in Taylor County and graduated from Abilene High School. She was a homemaker and was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Monty Bunch of Ruidoso, N.M.; one daughter, Sheila Jones of Abilene; her mother, Effie Fay Griffith Daniel of Abilene; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

George Willis Moore
George Willis Moore, 75, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Baker Heights Church of Christ with Doug Hall officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mr. Moore was born in Clayton, N.M., and attended school in Fort Sumner, N.M. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and married Marthagene Drennon in 1948 in Fort Sumner, N.M. He moved to Abilene in 1948 from Fort Sumner, N.M. He worked for Shook Tire for 20 years and also was a self-employed car salesman. He was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Carole Hall of Kingston, Tenn., and Robbie Burleson of Abilene; one brother, John David Moore of Yucaipa, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
