Billy Perry
Billy C. Perry, 50, of Lubbock and formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Dr. Steven G. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Perry was born in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School. He attended Texas Tech University. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and worked for Manchester Tank Co. in Lubbock since 1977.
Survivors include two sons, Rusty Perry of Arkansas and Bryan Perry of Lubbock; his mother, Wana Ladd of Abilene; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Tony Medulla
Tony Medulla, 52, lifelong Abilene resident, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Eula Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Medulla was born in Abilene and graduated from Cooper High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a machinist for Lockheed for 23 years and also was employed by Circle K and Firestone in Abilene. He married Julia Northcutt in 1980 in Anson and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Scott Northcutt of Abilene; one daughter, Stephanie Northcutt of Abilene; his mother, Mary Dale Malberg of Abilene; three brothers, Tommy Medulla of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sam Medulla of Phoenix, Ariz., and Danny Medulla of Abilene; two sisters, Dana Margolies of Abilene and Angela Ragsdale of Waxahachie; and several nephews and two nieces.
Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association, 149 N. Willis, Abilene 79603.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

L. Z. Nichols
L. Z. Nichols, 76, died Tuesday from injuries received in an automobile accident in Gatesville.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Potosi Cemetery with Weldon Gann officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road.
Mr. Nichols was born in Palo Pinto County and grew up in Abilene. He was a longtime Abilene resident and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a mechanic, carpenter and car dealer for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Nichols of Abilene; four sons, Jerry Nichols, Bill Nichols and Danny Nichols, all of Angleton, and Ken Nichols of Abilene; two stepsons, Michael Elliott and David Elliott, both of Merkel; two brothers, Kenneth Nichols of Yuba City, Calif., and Jimmy R. Nichols of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 225 E.S. 27th.

Clara Beatrice Burnett
Clara Beatrice Burnett, 80, of Tuscola, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Randall Samuels officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Burnett was born in Shamrock and lived most of her life in Abilene and Tuscola. She graduated from a Catholic high school in Dallas and was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Albert Jackson of Fort Worth; her stepmother, Jewel Scott of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Bobby Scott of Mesa Verde, Ariz., and Stanley Scott of Farmington, N.M.; one sister, Dorothy Dillon of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Calous Ray Nolen
LAMESA -- Calous Ray Nolen, 80, relative of two Abilene residents, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Lamesa First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Teeters officiating. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park, directed by Branon Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nolen was born in Winters and was a homemaker. She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church for more than 60 years and was the widow of Arther Nolen, whom she married in 1935 in Lamesa.
Survivors include two daughters, Nan Millender of Fort Worth and Connie Smith of Lamesa; one son, Rex Nolen of Abilene; one sister, Katherine Vaughan of Abilene; and nine grandchildren.

Carlton 'Sonny' Strand
STAMFORD -- Carlton "Sonny" Strand, 62, lifelong Jones County resident, died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Orient Street Church of Christ with Hoby Strand, John Eoff and Rusty McLen officiating. Burial will be in Strand Family Cemetery east of Stamford, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mr. Strand was born in Jones County and married Ann Hitch in 1955 in Stamford. He was a farmer and was a member of Orient Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Stamford; two sons, Buddy Strand and Hoby Strand, both of Stamford; one daughter, Cheryl Rice of Stamford; his father, I.H. Terry of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Cris Grounds of Stamford; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Ronnie Dale Barton
MIAMI, Texas -- Ronnie Dale Barton, 40, formerly of Gorman, died Wednesday in Lubbock.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gorman Cemetery with the Rev. Craig Rhoton officiating, directed by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian.
Mr. Barton was born in Gorman and graduated from Carbon High School. He attended Cisco Junior College and married Lisa Gilbert in 1991 in Borger. He worked for Exxon Corp. as an instrument technician for seven years and moved to Miami in 1997 from Dayton, Texas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Miami; one daughter, Tanjay Steffen of Kingsland; three sons, Shane Barton of Nacogdoches, and Zane Barton and Rowdy Barton, both of Miami; two stepsons, Joshua Gilbert and Michael Gilbert, both of Lubbock; his parents, Ellen Hice and Bill Hice, both of Bayton; one sister, Debra Marion of Bayton; two half-sisters, Dana Womack and Judy Barton, both of Wichita Falls; one brother, Steve Barton of Van Alstyne; one grandchild; one niece; and one great-niece.

Dolores Sanchez Gonzales
Dolores Sanchez Gonzales, 67, died Friday in a local hospital.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Gonzales was born in Stockdale and married Hemerejildo Gonzales Sr. in 1945 in Anson. She was a homemaker and moved to Abilene in 1947 from Anson. She was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; four sons, George Gonzales and Adam Gonzales Sr., both of Abilene, and Hemerejildo Gonzales Jr. and Ricardo Gonzales, both of Austin; two daughters, Lydia Martinez and Lilia G. Aguilar, both of Abilene; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 2249 Fannin.

Bessie Glass
SWEETWATER -- Bessie Glass, 73, of Abilene and formerly of Sweetwater, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Dan Burrow officiating. Burial will be in Palava Cemetery.
Mrs. Glass was born in Roby and married W.B. "Dub" Glass in 1958 in Sweetwater. She was a homemaker and moved to Abilene in 1987 from Sweetwater. She was a member of Avondale Baptist Church in Sweetwater.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two sons, Bobbie Glass of Sweetwater and Eddie Glass of Oakview, Calif.; three daughters, Judy Johnson of Upland, Calif., Camilla Hill of Brookhaven, Miss., and Debra Franklin of San Antonio; two brothers, Foy Hilley of Magnola, Calif., and R.H. Hilley of Visalia, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Leo Carroll Reynolds
TRENT -- Leo Carroll Reynolds, 73, of Lubbock and formerly of Trent, died Wednesday in Lubbock.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel with the Rev. Henry Rhynes officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Trent, where he graduated from high school in 1941, and served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from the University of Denver. He worked for KRBC Radio in Abilene as a program director and announcer and also was employed by KTRN and KVPX, both in Wichita Falls, and KRRV in Sherman. He was a high school teacher and was a Baptist.
Survivors include one brother, Bill Reynolds of Lubbock; one sister, Glenda Rutherford of Lake Brownwood; and two nieces and one nephew.
