Bennie Arthur 'B.A.' True
Bennie Arthur "B.A." True, 94, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday in Hillsboro.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Brook Hollow Christian Church with the Rev. Bob Moon officiating, assisted by Dr. Steven G. Williams. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. True was born in Kansas, graduated from Strawn High School and attended Tarleton State University. He worked in oil fields in West Texas and south Louisiana before being transferred to Abilene from Stamford in 1961. He retired from Exxon Oil and Refining Co. in Abilene after a 32-year career. He lived in Abilene for 35 years and in Hillsboro for three years. He was a past member and deacon of Brook Hollow Christian Church, was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, a 70-year member of Strawn Masonic Lodge and past president of Good Sams Club. He married Mildred F. Matthews in 1937 in Ranger.
Survivors include his wife, of Hillsboro; two daughters, Norma Kidwell of Hillsboro and Marsha True Womack of Dallas; one sister, Blanche McKown of Austin; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Ada Elizabeth Blackwell
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Ada Elizabeth Blackwell, 94, died Friday at a local care center.
Services were Monday at Manes Baptist Church in Manes, Mo., with the Rev. D.W. Wartenbee officiating. Burial was in Manes Cemetery, directed by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blackwell was born in Cookville, Mo., and, along with her husband, was employed by Hardin-Simmons University for several years as custodians.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Blackwell of Springfield; two daughters, Mary Stevens of Abilene and Lillie Benham of Tampa, Fla.; one son, Jim Blackwell of Springfield; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ben Parris
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Ben W. Parris, 80, formerly of Abilene, died Friday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Ross Cemetery in Park Hill, Okla.
Mr. Parris was the widower of Frances Berry Parris, his wife of 42 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Fritts Parris of Tahlequah; two sisters, Louise Aulgur of Tahlequah and Fannie Mae Duffield of Grove, Okla.; one brother, Mose Parris of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Dee Sporn of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two step-grandchildren, eight nieces and six nephews.

Inez Tinker
QUANAH - Inez Tinker, 87, of Abilene died Saturday at her home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Cemetery, directed by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Local arrangements were handled by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tinker was born in Hardeman County and lived around Quanah all her life before recently moving to Abilene. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Quanah. She was the widow of Melvin Tinker.
Survivors include Harlan Tinker of Quanah, Dalton Tinker of Marietta, Ga., Virginia Williams of Baseher, Kan., and Evelyn Dorsett of Abilene; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Jean Mary Lesiak
ELMWOOD PARK, Ill. - Jean Mary Lesiak, 83, died Sunday in Elmwood Park, Ill.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cyprian Catholic Church in River Grove, Ill. Burial will be in St. Adlabert Cemetery in River Grove, directed by Rago Brothers Funeral Home in Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Lesiak was born in Chicago, where she lived all her life. She was the widow of Carl Joseph Lesiak. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Olinsky of Elmwood Park and Tess Burton of Abilene; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lena Hughey
ROBY - Lena Hughey, 87, died Monday at a Sweetwater hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hughey lived in the Roby area all her life and was a school teacher and coach for 39 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married J.B. Hughey in 1938 in Sweetwater; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Barry Hughey of Sweetwater; and two grandchildren.

Robert 'Bob' Blake
BROWNWOOD - Robert H. "Bob" Blake, 87, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Blake was born in Trinity and was owner, editor and publisher of several weekly papers in South Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M College in 1930 and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He ran the newspaper in Lompoc, Calif., before buying Port Printing Company in Corpus Christi. He moved to Brownwood in 1949 and purchased West Texas Printing Company. He was a 50-year Mason and past district governor of Rotary International. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. He married Mary Sue McMullan in 1940.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bill Blake, Steve Blake, Roger Blake and Paul Blake, all of Brownwood; one daughter, Beverly Smith of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-8 p.m. today.

Beverly Kay Jones
BROWNWOOD - Beverly Kay Jones, 57, of Valley Station, Ky., died Sunday in Bangs.
Graveside services were Monday in Rocky Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Yancey officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born in Sacramento, Calif., and had lived in Valley Station for 30 years. She was a clerk for South Central Bell and a member of Valley Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, James DeLisle of Burgin, Ky., and Mark DeLisle of Bangs; one daughter, Terri Scarberry of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Edward Allen of Bakersfield; and six grandchildren.

Dayton Floyd Walston
ANSON - Dayton Floyd Walston, 77, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Menard Cemetery in Menard, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Walston was born in Menard County and graduated from Menard High School in 1937. He played football for McMurry College and graduated in 1941 with a bachelor's degree. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was past principal of Menard elementary and high schools, where he also taught math and coached. He moved to Austin in 1966 where he taught at Travis High School. He graduated from the University of Texas with a master's degree in 1968 and moved to San Angelo, where he taught at Central High School. He returned to Austin in 1974, moved to Brownwood in 1978, to Hewitt in 1980 and to Anson in 1985. He was a former member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Menard, and a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Anson. He was a Rotarian, a Mason and a member of Gideon's International. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves and was an Eagle Scout and a former scoutmaster. He married Hazel Grubbs in 1942 in Colorado City.
Survivors include his wife, of Anson; two sons, William Walston of Tyler and David Walston of Beaumont; one brother, Cecil Dea Walston of Alto, N.M.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
