Tessie Painter
Tessie B. Painter, 71, died Wednesday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Larry Tarver officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Painter was born in Ranger and graduated from high school in Corpus Christi. She worked in civil service for the Federal Aeronautics Administration during World War II. She married Dwight Painter in 1951 in Midland and was a homemaker. She was employed by the Texas Department of Public Safety until retiring.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, David Dwight Painter of Spring; one daughter, Traella Kay Painter of Austin; one sister, Lessie Jean Roark of San Diego; and four grandchildren.

Gladys Keils
Gladys M. Keils, 74, died Wednesday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Hamby Cemetery with the Rev. Clayton Pennington officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Keils grew up in Paducah and moved to Abilene in 1942. She married J.D. Keils in 1951 in Abilene and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Charles Keils of Abilene; one daughter, Patsy Jones of Abilene; and four grandchildren.

Lindon Earl Wheeler
ANSON -- Lindon Earl Wheeler, 91, employed by the Texas Highway Department for 20 years until retiring in 1970, died Thursday in Anson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Anson First Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Welch and Jerry Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Wheeler was born in Grayson and moved to Haskell County as a child. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He moved to Anson in 1950 and married Faye Bennett in 1971 in Funston. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Anson; three stepsons, Don Bennett of Eula, Doug Bennett of Fort Worth and Lynn Bennett of Anson; one stepdaughter, Mary Ann McFadden of Haskell; one brother, Gilbert Wheeler of Euless; one sister, Frances Downer of Arlington; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six nephews and four nieces.

Florencio Soto
EASTLAND -- Florencio Soto, 72, died Wednesday at his home.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery.
Mr. Soto was born in Texas and grew up in Eastland. He was a World War II veteran and was a retired pipeline worker of R.M. Sneed. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Francis Catholic Church.
Survivors include one brother, Nasario Soto of Cisco; three sisters, Christina Perez of Big Spring, Nellie Martinez of Eastland and Lydia May Lopez of Breckenridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Lowell Ford
ALBANY -- Lowell D. Ford, 57, died Wednesday at his home.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the Revs. David Mallory and Tom Anthony officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mr. Ford was born in Bonham and graduated from Oklahoma City and Loyola universities. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He worked as a geophysicist with Amocco for 20 years and was one of five men who invented a seismic refraction prospecting process now used worldwide. He was employed by the Jones Co. at its Houston office and, when that office was closed, moved to Albany. He was a geophysical consultant at the time of his death. He was a member of the Society of Geophysicists and served as the society's District 3 representative. He also was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Ford of Arlington, Steve Ford of Albany and Ryan Ford of Lubbock; two daughters, Nicole Waczak of Arlington and Traci Dufour of Azle; two sisters, Nancy Fogleman of Houston and Linda Hall of Yukon, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to First Christian Church in Albany.

O.O. Hollabaugh
BRECKENRIDGE -- O.O. Hollabaugh, 98, formerly of Roby, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Roby First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mickey Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mr. Hollabaugh was born in Hunt County and lived in the Roby area most of his life. He was a former city manager in Roby and also worked as a deputy sheriff. He was a farmer and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Palominto Polo Club, Fisher County Sheriff's Posse and Roby First Baptist Church. He was the widower of Ruby Lee Pikin Hollabaugh, whom he married in 1922 in Roby.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Hollabaugh of Leander and Stephen Hollabaugh of Breckenridge; three daughters, Aza Lee Baxter of Longview, Wash., Willow Jo "Billy" Kelley of Burnet and Mary Hooper of Nacogdoches; two sisters, Jewell White of San Marcos and Geneva Randolph of Roby; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Lee Robinson
SYLVESTER -- Dorothy Lee Robinson, 51, of De Soto and formerly of Sylvester, died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sylvester Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Moffett officiating. Burial will be in Sylvester Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Lubbock and married Michael Robinson in 1966 in Sault Ste Marie, Mich. She worked as a Christian bookstore saleslady. She was a homemaker and was a member of Sylvester Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of De Soto; two children, Jackie Michelle Peterman of Knoxville, Tenn., and Michael L. Robinson II of Gainesville; and four grandchildren.

Velma Lively
BROWNWOOD -- Velma Lively, 93, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
The body was cremated. Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Eastlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements were made by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lively was born in Scurry County and graduated from Kansas City Bible College. She worked as a nurse and moved to Brownwood more than 30 years ago. She taught Sunday school and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was the widow of G.W. McAbee and James Lively.
Survivors include one daughter, Trudy Flippo of Branson, Mo.; four sisters, Yvonne Bristow of Brownwood, Lynn Gruver of Austin, Ollie Fugua of Big Spring and Virginia Phillips of Barstow, Calif.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ralph Doyle Gillit
Ralph Doyle Gillit, 69, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Richard Adkisson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Gillit was born in Lamesa and was a U.S. Army veteran. He moved to Abilene in 1948 and was a self-employed truck driver and welder. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 36.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Gillit of Abilene; one daughter, Lanell Campbell of Salado; one sister, Marie Arp of Abilene; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene 79601.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
