Jackie Dean McCall
CLAREMORE, Okla. -- Jackie Dean McCall, 42, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday in Tulsa, Okla.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Claremore Funeral Home.
Mr. McCall was born in Abilene and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years until transferring to the Marine Corps Reserve in 1976. He moved to the Claremore area about 20 years from Texas and was a self-employed truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Bernadine McCall of Claremore; three children, Kendall Kristeen McCall of Claremore, Cory Dean McCall of Baird and David Shawn McCall of Sweetwater; his parents, James and Dean Keils of Foyil, Okla., and L.J. and Viola McCall of Clyde; and three brothers, David McCall of Abilene, James Keils of Claremore and Johnny Allen of Mena, Ark.

A.N. Wells Sr.
KARNES CITY -- A.N. Wells Sr., 83, father of a former Abilene resident, died Monday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pawnee Cemetery.
Mr. Wells was born in Buda and graduated from Southwest Texas University in San Marcos and Texas A&I University in Kingsville. He was a high school principal in Poteet and Kenedy before retiring in 1963. He then was a farmer and rancher. He was active in Boy Scouts of America and was a 50-year member of Kenedy Grand Lodge 774. He also was a member of the Sons of Hermann Lenz Family Lodge 215-2 and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel H. Wells of Karnes City; one son, Alvan N. Wells Jr. of Killeen; one daughter, Katherine Ann Haynes of Granbury and formerly of Abilene; one stepson, Billy Bull of Port Lavaca; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Johnnie Mae Mercer Ingram
BRECKENRIDGE -- Johnnie Mae Mercer Ingram, 65, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Morehart Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Luther White officiating. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Ingram was born in Breckenridge, where she graduated from high school in 1949, and attended Wichita Falls Cosmetology Center. She married Wayland Ingram in 1973 and worked with her husband at Ingram Well Service. She was a homemaker and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Breckenridge; one son, Robert Michalk of Lafayette, La.; five daughters, Linda Mangion, Jeannie Mayo and Debbie Reeves, all of Lafayette, La., Connie Cini of Malta and Byrel Ann Williams of Abilene; one stepson, Wayland Dee Ingram of Burleson; one stepdaughter, Denae Ingram of Beaumont; two brothers, J.W. Mercer of Pearson, Ga., and Buddy Mercer of Delta, Colo.; one sister, Christine Otts of Montesano, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Abilene and left at the funeral home.

Kendall Carmack
ROCHESTER -- Kendall Carmack, 69, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
The body was donated to science. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Rochester First Baptist Church. Arrangements were made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home of Abilene.
Mr. Carmack was born in Haskell County and attended school in Rochester and O'Brien. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and married Dorothy Fay Hollingsworth in 1945 in Rochester. He retired after owning and operating a service station and grocery store in Rochester and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Rochester; two sons, Carlos Kendall Carmack of Rochester and Tinker Mark Carmack of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Diana Kay Lisle of Rochester; and four grandchildren.

John Edgar 'Jigger' Rowland
HAMLIN -- John Edgar "Jigger" Rowland, 63, of Plano and formerly of Hamlin, died Tuesday in a Plano hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Hamlin First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Martin Encke officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Rowland was born in Hamlin, where he graduated from high school in 1952, and attended Texas Tech University. He played football for three years at Texas Tech. He married Gwen Brown in 1958 in Hamlin and worked in sales for Phillips 66 Petroleum Co. He moved to Plano in 1979 and was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, of Plano; one son, Britt Rowland of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one daughter, Melanie McNabb of The Colony; his mother, Frances Rowland of Chicago; two brothers, Brad Rowland Jr. of Chicago and Justin Rowland of San Antonio; and three grandchildren.

Billy Gene Morton
COMANCHE -- Billy Gene Morton, 66, of Benbrook, died Tuesday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Grahams Chapel Cemetery near Proctor with James Hammonds officiating, directed by Hall & Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Morton was born in San Angelo and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He married Donna Gray in 1964 in Lovington, N.M., and worked for Milnot Co. until retiring due to ill health. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Benbrook; four sons, Joe Morton of Benbrook, Kelly Morton of Burleson, Arthur Morton of Carlsbad, Texas, and Robert Morton of Robert Lee; two daughters, Patricia Parks and Barbara McAda, both of San Angelo; one brother, Homer Morton of San Angelo; one sister, Helen Shackelford of San Angelo; and four grandchildren.

Thomas Tengler Kral Jr.
SWEETWATER -- Thomas Tengler Kral Jr., 88, mechanical engineer for Lone Star Industries for 20 years, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Malcolm Brown officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery.
Mr. Kral was born in Longworth and married June Headstream in 1935 in Roby. He was a member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater; one brother, Robert M. Kral of Corsicana; five sisters, Marie McCain of Haskell, Margaret Baumgardner of Edmond, Okla., and Edith R. Kral, Ann Hastings and Irene Madden, all of Amarillo; and many nieces and nephews.

Cathy Galloway Vinita
BENBROOK -- Cathy Galloway Vinita, 43, whose husband grew up in Knox City, died Monday in a Fort Worth hospital after a sudden illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. Fred Morrow officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Knox City Cemetery.
Mrs. Vinita was born in Hobbs, N.M., and married John B. Vinita in 1980. She worked as a licensed vocational nurse.
Survivors include her husband, of Benbrook; one daughter, Sonya Nicole Vinita of Benbrook; her parents, John R. Galloway and Doris Galloway, both of Winnsboro; one brother, John C. Galloway of Pickton; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorace Windham Rose
Dorace Windham Rose, 89, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Dan Burrow officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery in Callahan County.
Ms. Rose was born in Callahan County, where she lived for many years, and attended school in Tecumseh. She was a self-employed seamstress for 45 years until retiring and was a member of North Park Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosa Wilson McCumber of New Iberia, La.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
