Bert Wayne Thackerson
CISCO -- Bert Wayne Thackerson, 54, of Lake Cisco, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Upshaw officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Thackerson was born in Weinert in Haskell County and married Charlene Harrison in 1961 in Big Spring. He worked as a salesman for Carpetland in Abilene and was a member of Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Lake Cisco; one son, Tommy Wayne Thackerson of Baird; one daughter, Karen Dugan of Mesquite; four brothers, Howard Thackerson of Longview, Troy Thackerson of Monahans, Clyde Thackerson of Abilene and Roy Thackerson of Ranger; one sister, Susie Decker of Eastland; and eight grandchildren.

Clifford 'Weldon' Lacy
GARLAND -- Clifford "Weldon" Lacy, 70, formerly of Comanche County, died Tuesday.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche, directed by Williams Funeral Directors. Services were held Thursday in Garland First Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Davis officiating.
Mr. Lacy was born in Sidney in Comanche County and graduated from Comanche High School in 1944. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and graduated from the University of Texas in 1949.
He then became editor of the Democrat-Voice in Coleman. He was employed by the Olney Enterprise from 1950-65, first as editor and later as co-owner and co-publisher. He was a managing editor and co-publisher of the Arlington Daily News. He moved to Garland in 1967 and was managing editor of the Garland Daily News for two years before working in the marketing department of E Systems Inc. from 1968-71. He was named an editor of the Mesquite Daily News in 1971 and later was publisher and minority owner of the newspaper. He was director of public information for the Mesquite school system from 1978 until retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the Jaycees and Lions Club, both in Coleman. He also was a director of the Olney Industrial Development Foundation, YMCAs in Arlington and Garland, and chambers of commerce in Olney, Arlington, Garland and Mesquite. He was vice president of the Olney Lions Club and Garland Symphony Orchestra, and was active in Boy Scouts. He was named Mesquite's Outstanding Citizen in 1976. He was a deacon, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school at Garland First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lacy of Garland; one son, Scott Lacy of Sunnyvale, Calif.; one daughter, Anna Welch of Murphy; three brothers, James R. Lacy of Abilene, Donald H. Lacy of Comanche and John E. Lacy of Houston; two sisters, Grace E. Dudley of Comanche and Virginia R. Boynton of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren.

Mary Margaret Bigham Campbell
KNOX CITY -- Mary Margaret Bigham Campbell, 78, died Wednesday in a local hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Knox City Church of Christ with David Boren officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Bell County and graduated from Texas Women's University. She married Bruce Campbell Jr. in 1947 in Gladewater and moved to Knox City in 1955. She taught school in Knox City and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, of Knox City; and one daughter, Mary Jo Campbell of Dripping Springs.
Memorials may be sent to Knox City Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund, c/o Knox City School Administration, Knox City 79529; or Church of Christ Building Fund.

William Henry Knight
BRECKENRIDGE -- William Henry Knight, 77, died Wednesday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Morehart Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Harper officiating. Burial will be in Necessity Cemetery.
Mr. Knight was born in Stephens County and attended school in Necessity. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include one brother, Don Knight of Crane; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Breckenridge Senior Citizens Center and left at the funeral home.

Opal Kennon
SWEETWATER -- Opal Kennon, 84, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sweetwater First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kennon was born in Cottonwood and moved to Sweetwater in 1945. She worked as a home economist for Texas Electric until retiring. She then was employed by Sweetwater Floral. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Friends of the Museum, Rolling Plains Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce and Extension Service Club. She also was a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Finis Neal Kennon, whom she married in 1935 in Carbon.
Survivors include one daughter, Elaine Hardin of Brownwood; one sister, Roma Morrow of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Rolling Plains Hospital Ladies Auxiliary or First United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Rosemary Gibbs
BROWNWOOD -- Rosemary Gibbs, 77, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Eastlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Russell Fisher officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gibbs was born in Brownwood, where she lived most of her life, and was a retired nurse. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Foster of Mount Pleasant and Sally Jane Emery of Brownwood; one brother, James D. O'Connell of Brownwood; one sister, Nettie McAuthur of Torrance, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Kenny Glass
HASKELL -- Kenny Glass, 9, of Alvin, grandson of five Big Country residents, died Tuesday at his home after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Willow Cemetery with the Rev. David Page officiating, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Kenny was born in Colorado City and attended Alvin Elementary. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Mary Ann Glass of Alvin; two sisters, Kimberly Denise Glass and Kelly Irlene Glass, both of Alvin; one brother, Kyle Channing Glass of Alvin; and his grandparents, Tommie and Mary Isbell of Haskell, Bill and Rose Glass of Colorado City, Rita and Torgny Thorpe of Austin, and Anna Glass of Stamford.

Leslie 'Ossie' Ingram
BROWNWOOD -- Leslie "Ossie" Ingram, 72, of Grand Prairie and formerly of Brownwood, died Tuesday in a Dallas hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with Wendell Swelling officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mr. Ingram was born in Brownwood, where he married Eva Benson in 1946, and moved to Grand Prairie in 1974. He was a member of De Soto First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Grand Prairie; one son, Eric W. Ingram of Irving; four daughters, Karen Brister of Grand Prairie, Eva Rae Allen and Kay LeGrand, both of Irving, and Sharlette Hannah of Midland; one brother, Willie Ingram of Brownwood; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Earline Martin
Earline Martin, 61, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Potosi Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Schirle officiating, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Ms. Martin was born in Abilene.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Martin of Abilene and Jerry Lee Martin of Bonham; her stepmother, Alice Mae Heath of Abilene; four brothers, Herbert Heath of Potosi, and Luther Heath, Danny Heath and Charlie Dunn, all of Abilene; six sisters, Alice Heath of Tolar, Ruby Bullard of Abilene, Wanda Jowers of Hamilton, Lucy Neitzler of Odessa, Susie Hasty of Springtown and Jerry Allison of Prineville, Ore.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
