Catherine White
BROWNWOOD -- Catherine White, 90, lifelong local resident, died Thursday at her home.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. Benedick Zientek officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Ms. White was born in Brown County and worked at Studdards Cafeteria for 25 years. She also taught school. She assisted with Meals on Wheels for many years and was a member of the Altar Society at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include one sister, Jessie Gamon of Brownwood; and two nephews and four nieces.

John Casey
CISCO -- John H. Casey, 78, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Cross Plains Cemetery with Bill Reed officiating, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home of Cross Plains.
Mr. Casey was born in Gorham, Ill., and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Bobbie M. Watson in 1958 in Baird and worked as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, of Cross Plains; one son, Max Thetford of Lake Brownwood; five daughters, Barbara Downs of Liberty, Sandra Abernathy of Brownwood, Pam Moore of Cross Plains, Debbie Mathis of Graham and Dorothy Casey of Grand Tar, Ill.; two sisters, Mildred Dawson and Rosetta Adams, both of Gorham, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Opal Featherston
BROWNWOOD -- Opal Featherston, 88, of Dallas and formerly of Brownwood, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pat McClatchy officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Featherston was born in Mullin and lived in Brownwood for many years. She was a homemaker and was a childcare provider. She was a member of Brown County Gospel Singers and Gleaner Sunday School Class at Central United Methodist Church in Brownwood. She was the widow of Carl M. Featherston, whom she married in 1929 in Goldthwaite.
Survivors include two daughters, Norma Balentine of Rowlett and Carlene Adkins of Houston; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Emma Gerhardt
SAN ANTONIO -- Emma Gerhardt, 97, formerly of Cisco, died Monday.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Romney Lutheran Cemetery in Cisco, directed by Porter-Loring Mortuary.
Survivors include two sons, Ray C. Gerhardt of Seguin and C. Gerald Gerhardt of Waco; four daughters, Pauline Hamil of Houston, Marilyn Berner of Paradise, Calif., and Kathlyn Gerhardt and Nancy Daggett, both of San Antonio; and many grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco.

Frankie Wilson
BRECKENRIDGE -- Frankie Wilson, 79, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Breckenridge First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnny Miller and Jim Cox officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, directed by Melton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Claude and was a homemaker. She was a member of Breckenridge Garden Club and First United Methodist Church, and was the widow of Charles Calvin Wilson, whom she married in 1938 in Claude.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Robert Wilson of Hixson, Tenn., James Lawrence Wilson of Livermore, Calif., and Richard Terry Wilson of Lawndale, Calif.; one sister, Mildred Blanton Vowell of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren.

Maude Warren Yungblut
BORGER -- Maude Warren Yungblut, 80, mother of an Abilene resident, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Borger First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Jones officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, directed by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Yungblut was born in Greensberg, La., and moved to Borger in 1935 from Amite, La. She was a retired librarian of Frank Phillips College and was a past president of the Borger 20th Century Federated Club and Friends of the Library. She also was a past director of Cedar Canyon Methodist Church Camp. She was a member of Hutchinson County Republican Women and First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Robert B. Yungblut.
Survivors include one son, Gary Cline Yungblut of Abilene; one daughter, Rogenna Hanson of Paradise, Calif.; two brothers, Wilton Warren of Chalmette, La., and Alton Warren of Roseland, La.,; one sister, Hazel Cutrer of Amite, La.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Joyce Barbara Turner
COLEMAN -- Joyce Barbara Turner, 59, died Friday in a Brownwood hospital.
The body was donated to science. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Wilson officiating.
Ms. Turner was born in Ipswich, England, where she attended school, and moved to Coleman in 1960. She worked as a waitress.
Survivors include one daughter, Glynda Carrillo of Coleman; one son, Kelvin Durwood Crowder of Coleman; one sister, Jean Scrivener of England; two brothers, Tony Beales and Mick Beales, both of England; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

Dovie Clonts
KNOX CITY -- Dovie M. Clonts, 94, died Thursday in a local hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Knox City First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Vergil Ichtertz and James Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Clonts was born in Falls County and moved to Knox City in 1928. She worked at Clonts Hardware Store until retiring and was a homemaker. She was a member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Eugene Clonts, whom she married in 1923 in Mart.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Clonts of Knox City and Ken Clonts of Kingsland; one sister, Jewell Rucker of Harrison, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Knox City First United Methodist Church.

William 'Wimpy' Broyles
COLEMAN -- William E. "Wimpy" Broyles, 81, died Thursday in a Fort Worth care facility.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Coleman City Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Smith officiating, directed by Walker Funeral Home.
Mr. Broyles was born in Talpa and grew up in Coleman County. He married Mary Frances Roberts in 1935 in Albany and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was retired from Bell Helicopter Co. He returned to Coleman in 1987 and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; one sister, Donnie Mae Mitchell of Waco; and two brothers, J.B. Broyles of Lake Whitney and Floyd Broyles.
