Barton Goodwin
BROWNWOOD - Barton Goodwin, 54, of Early died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lowell Skaggs and Jay Swoveland officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Goodwin was born in Santa Anna, where he graduated from high school. He was a retired conductor-switchman with Santa Fe Railroad, where he was employed 31 years. He moved to Early in 1966 from Santa Anna and was a member of Early Baptist Church. He married Joe Ann Wallace in 1964 in Santa Anna.
Survivors include his wife, of Early; four sons, Jeff Goodwin of Arlington, Mark Goodwin of Austin, Michael Goodwin of Houston and Matt Goodwin of Early; two brothers, Henry Goodwin of Brownwood and Bob Goodwin of Snyder; and six grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Austin Maedgen
BROWNWOOD - Austin Maedgen, 84, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.J. Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Maedgen was born in Bell County and lived in Brownwood most of his life. He was retired after owning and operating Maedgen Pump & Supply and was a member of First Baptist Church and Brownwood Coin Club. He married Claude Jones in 1939 in Blanket.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; one daughter, Monette Grinstead of Brownwood; one sister, Iris Adams of Lake Buchanan; one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.

Willis Herman Knight
DALLAS - Willis Herman Knight, founder of Knight Furniture in Abilene, died Saturday in Dallas.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Presbyterian Village North, directed by Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Knight and his wife founded Knight Carpet Company in 1948, selling the business in 1965. He had lived in Dallas since 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Bland Knight of Dallas; three sisters, Aline Knight and Ivah Knight, both of Dallas, and Mrs. Loyd Conyers of Bonham; one brother, Keith Knight of Lubbock; and three nieces and nephews, including Frances Sayles Murphy and Joe Bob Grist, both of Abilene.

Jesus Garcia
Jesus M. Garcia, 77, of Abilene died Friday at a Big Spring hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. David Matz officiating. Burial will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
Mr. Garcia was born in Linares Nuevo Linon, Mexico, and moved from Jersey City, Colo., to Abilene in 1967. He was a greenskeeper at Abilene Country Club, a Baptist and an Army veteran of World War II. He married Elida Reyna in 1948 in Alice.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; six sons, Jesus Garcia of Amarillo, Geremias Garcia of Dallas, Abel Garcia of Del Rio and Javier Garcia, Noe Garcia and Francisco Garcia, all of Abilene; two daughters, Elida Gonzales and Cecila Canales, both of Abilene; three brothers, Marshall Garcia, Francisco Garcia and Manuel Garcia, all of Mathis; three sisters, Julia Pena, Irene Cancino and Mary Guerrero, all of Mathis; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Loyd Jim Langley
Loyd Jim Langley, 73, died Sunday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. H.B. Terry Jr. officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy. 277 South.
Mr. Langley was born in Clyde and graduated from Wylie High School. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include four brothers, James L. Langley and C.L. Langley, both of Abilene, D.H. Langley of Hobbs, N.M., and John Langley of Seagoville; and three sisters, Ila Mae Appleton of Hobbs, Opal Skiles of Lorena and Faye Bruner of Abilene.

Martha Belle Hann
Martha Belle Hann, 79, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Memorial Park with Dr. David Hamblin officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Hann was born in Mulvane, Kan., and moved to Abilene from Kentucky in 1948. She was a bookkeeper-accountant, working for several Abilene businesses, including Wooten Wholesale Grocery for a number of years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was the widow of J.R. "Jerry" Glenn and Claude Hann.
Survivors include one brother, James "Jim" Dalrymple of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three sisters, Clara Lewis Culp of Benton, Ky., Donna Mae Neely of Mexico, Mo., and Doris Marie Wilkes of Holiday Island, Ark.

Florence Siddie Cook
Florence Siddie Cook, 81, of Hawley died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hawley Cemetery with the Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Cook was born in Thurber and moved to Hawley from Abilene 25 years ago. She was a homemaker. She married Wayne Cook in 1975 in Anson.
Survivors include her husband, of Hawley; two sons, Harvey Nichols of Hawley and Wallace Nichols of Weatherford; five daughters, Marilyn Carter of Hawley and Billie Johnson, Charldene Williams, Mary Sloan and Tamara Cook, all of Abilene; one brother, Fred C. Rice of Lawn; two sisters, Ola Fay Hastings of Whitewright and Tressie Parker of Fort Worth; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home this evening and at 7934 Hwy. 277 South in Hawley.

Mrs. Dale (Hall) Geer
COLORADO CITY - Mrs. Dale (Hall) Geer, 91, died Sunday in Sweetwater.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Spear and the Rev. Robert Bracy officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Cemetery in Snyder, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Geer was born in Gorman and had lived in Colorado City since 1917. She was a retired teacher with the Colorado City Independent School District. She was a member of Eastern Star and First Baptist Church. She married Arthur Lee "Buck" Geer in 1929 in Loraine; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jan Winn of Las Cruces, N.M., and Dixie Carolyn Helfer of Slidell, La.; one sister, Willie Faye Baumgarten of Schulenburg; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Box 641, Colorado City 79512; or to the donor's favorite charity.

Lizzie Wade King
BALLINGER - Lizzie Wade King, 101, of San Angelo died Monday in San Angelo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Priddy officiating. Burial will be in Old Runnels Cemetery.
Mrs. King was born in Lamar County and had lived in the area for many years. She was a homemaker. She married Carl Emerson King in 1914 in Runnels County; he preceded her in death.
Survivores include three sons, Bill King and Wayne King, both of San Angelo, and Lloyd King of Ballinger; 37 grandchildren, a multitude of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
