Raymond Monroe Carroll
COMANCHE -- Raymond Monroe Carroll, 82, died Friday at his home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Van Christian officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Carroll was born in Goldthwaite and lived most of his life in Comanche. He married Villa Thomas in 1940 in Comanche and served with the U.S. Army's 861st Air Engineer Squadron during World War II. He worked as a computer programmer in West Texas and the Dallas area. He was a former member of the Noon Lions Club. He was a member of Evening Lions Club and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Comanche; two sisters, Eddie Webb of Dallas and Martha Lambert of Terrell; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Memorials may be sent to New Horizons in Goldthwaite, Comanche First Baptist Church or a favorite charity.

Dorothy Boone
MIDLAND -- Dorothy F. Boone, 74, formerly of Lawn, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Myron Unruh officiating. Burial will be in Ruidoso, N.M.
Mrs. Boone was born in Lawn and moved to New Mexico in 1964 from Corsicana. She lived in Hobbs, Albuquerque and and Ruidoso, N.M. She worked as a cook at Furr's Cafeteria, Whispering Pines, Holliday House, Cowboy's Restaurant, Lincoln County Cafe and Ruidoso Downs Sports Theater. She was a Sunday school superintendent and was active in the Infants and Toddlers nursery and WSCS Methodist Women's Organization at St. John's Methodist Church in Albuquerque, N.M.
Survivors include one son, William Donald Boone III of Ruidoso, N.M.; one daughter, Sherida Ann Boone of Salem, N.H.; her mother, June Dean of Midland; one brother, Charles Rosson of Longview; one sister, Juanell Pursley of Midland; and five nieces and nephews.

Robert Damon 'R.D.' 'Truckie' Kluting
ASPERMONT -- Robert Damon "R.D." "Truckie" Kluting, 70, owner and operator of Liberty Trucking for 30 years, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Aspermont First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Reinbolt and Barry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Kluting was born in Brownfield and was the widower of Martha Scott Kluting, whom he married in 1946 in Peacock. He married Maxine Griffin in 1984 in Lubbock and was an Aspermont school trustee. He was a member of Aspermont Lions Club and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Aspermont; four sons, Robert Kluting and Steve Kluting, both of Hunt, Mark Kluting of San Marcos and Marshall Bradford of Kingsland; three daughters, Cheryl Hoffman of Bella Vista, Ark., Wendy Weaver of Gainesville, Fla., and Denice Reed of Del Rio; three brothers, W.A. Kluting of Dallas, Ore., Lester Kluting of Las Cruces, N.M., and Terrell Kluting of Pinon, N.M.; two sisters, Jean Berryman of Hobbs, N.M., and Becky Phillips of Holdenville, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Hugh 'Brud' Boren Jr.
SNYDER -- Hugh "Brud" Boren Jr., 87, died Friday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church with Dr. Tim Griffin and John VonRoeder officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Boren was born in Snyder and married Billie Jean Morgan VonRoeder in 1974 in Arlington. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Snyder; three daughters, Lila Dea Ethridge of Kyle, Kleta Kay Smith of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lea Ann Hilty of Bay City; three sons, Hugh Boren III of Austin, John Spencer VonRoeder of Fort Worth and Phillip Wade VonRoeder of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; and one niece.

Eunice Oleta Mauldin Griffith Seale
RISING STAR -- Eunice Oleta Mauldin Griffith Seale, 89, of Mineola and formerly of Rising Star, died Thursday in a Mineola nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Rising Star Church of Christ with Lee Peters officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Liberty Valley Cemetery in Erath County, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Seale was born in Liberty Valley and lived in Rising Star for 43 years. She worked at Agnew Grocery for many years and moved to Mineola in 1992. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was the widow of Lester Griffith and Robert Seale.
Survivors include one son, Dale Griffith of Mineola; one sister, Evelyn Bothe of San Antonio; one brother, Clark Mauldin of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Elizabeth Fern Warren Fields
Elizabeth Fern Warren Fields, 83, died Friday at her home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Broadview Baptist Church with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Fields was born in Cisco and attended Cisco Junior College and Mary Hardin-Baylor College. She earned a teaching certificate and taught kindergarten at Dyess Air Force Base for many years. She was a homemaker. She moved to Pecos in 1942 from Cisco, and to Abilene in 1951. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church and was the widow of Sam Davis Fields, whom she married in 1935 in Cisco.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Bramlet and Sandra "Sissy" Thompson, both of Abilene; four brothers, Retired Lt. Col. Bill Collins, Harry Warren and Jim Warren, all of Fort Worth, and Jay Warren of Plano; one sister, Margie Pee of Jackson, Miss.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

William Henry 'Bill' Dry
William Henry "Bill" Dry, 83, sign painter for Dr Pepper Bottling Co. for 50 years, died Friday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Northview Cemetery in Winters with Capt. Edward Alonzo officiating, directed by Girdner Funeral Home, 111 Elm.
Mr. Dry was born in Winters, where he graduated from high school, and married Dot Bryant in 1943 in Baltimore. He moved to Abilene in 1944.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Wilma K. Whelchel of Abilene and Norma Bryant of Possum Kingdom Lake; one son, William L. "Blue" Dry of Bryan; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Pauline 'Polly' Passmore
BUFFALO GAP -- Pauline L. "Polly" Passmore, 81, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Buffalo Gap First Baptist Church with Haven Miller and the Rev. Wayne Heinze officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Mrs. Passmore was born in Quanah and moved to Abilene as a child. She and her first husband were lake keepers at Lake Abilene from 1936-66. She worked in food service at West Texas Medical Center and Buffalo Gap Steakhouse until retiring in 1979. She was the widow of O.H. "Doc" Seabolt, whom she married in 1932 in Abilene. She married William E. Passmore in 1982 in Tuscola and was a member of Buffalo Gap Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, of Buffalo Gap; two daughters, Dorothy Mayfield of Tuscola and Doris DePriest of Dickson, Tenn.; one stepson, Billy E. Passmore of Abilene; one stepdaughter, Della Marie DeWeese of Tye; two sisters, Alene Pugh of El Paso and Jeri Keesee of Abilene; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Glen Allen Smith
MANSFIELD -- Glen Allen Smith, 60, formerly of Abilene, died Thursday at his home after a brief battle with cancer.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lawn Haven Memorial Park in Clovis, N.M.
Mr. Smith was born in Verdon, S.D., and grew up in Texas. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and retired, after a 30-year career, at Dyess Air Force Base. He received a Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Air medals, Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. He married his wife 34 years ago. He was working as a ground school instructor for American Airlines at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Jean Smith; one son, Mark Allen Smith; one daughter, Kimberly Smith-Buchanan; two brothers, Marlon Smith and Rodney Smith; two grandchildren; and many other relatives.
