C.D. 'Speck' Kiser
Clois Dale "Speck" Kiser, 78, of the Eula area, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Eula Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Cox officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Harpersville Cemetery near Breckenridge with Jim Cox officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Kiser was born in Downing and attended school in Breckenridge. He served with the U.S. Naval Air Corps in Japan during World War II and married Dorotha Brewer in 1946 in Breckenridge. He moved to Abilene in 1950 from Breckenridge and to the Eula area in 1975. He worked for J.E. Cox & Sons as an oilfield supervisor and pusher for 35 years until retiring and was a charter member of the Callahan County Riding Club. He also was a member of Senior Partners and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, of the Eula area; three sons, Kenneth Wayne Kiser, Jack Dale Kiser and Jerry Gale Kiser, all of Abilene; one daughter, Kloyece Irvin of Abilene; one sister, Clara Mae Whiteside of Merkel; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Ernest Clemmer
Ernest R. Clemmer, 86, self-employed building contractor since 1946, died Wednesday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Fred McNab officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Clemmer was born in Callahan County and grew up in Hamby. He married Irene Gooch in 1934 in Hamby and moved to Abilene that year from Hamby.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Frances Carson and Ernestine "Tina" Nelson, both of Abilene; five brothers, Elvie Clemmer of Monahans, R.E. Clemmer of Merkel, Floyd Clemmer and Cloise Clemmer, both of Abilene, and Don Clemmer of Andrews; two sisters, Nita Boyd of Rosenburg and Verna Jo Gabbard of Abilene; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Anna Elizabeth Bailey
Anna Elizabeth Bailey, 95, of Colorado City and formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday in a Colorado City hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. James Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Gravity, Iowa, and was a homemaker. She moved to Abilene in 1951 from Rockport, Mo., and to Colorado City in 1990. She was a member of Elmwood Baptist Church in Abilene and was the widow of William Ross Bailey, whom she married in 1919 in Missouri.
Survivors include two sons, William Donald Bailey of Rockport, Mo., and Raymond Allen Bailey of Cisco; two daughters, Phyllis Ruth Swindle of Monahans and Arlene Swindle of Colorado City; one sister, Ruth Lee of Tarkio, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

William Malvin King
BIG SPRING -- William Malvin King, 89, supervisor at the Coca-Cola plant for 36 years until retiring, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Colorado City Cemetery with the Rev. Don Snipes officiating, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Mr. King was born in Haskell and moved to Big Spring at a young age. He was a member of Baptist Temple Church and was the widower of Lillian Irene Loving King, whom he married in 1928; and Dovie Kite Smith King, whom he married in 1983.
Survivors include one sister, Thelma Rees of Abilene; one niece, Darlene McCaskill of Abilene; two nephews; and four great-nephews.

Elbert Payne
HAMLIN -- Elbert Payne, 80, foreman of the Y6 Ranch near Hamlin from 1946 until retiring in 1992, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hamlin First Baptist Church with the Revs. Howard Jones and Tracy Watson officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Payne was born in Arkansas and grew up in Oklahoma. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and married Elizabeth Terrell in 1945 in Abilene. He moved in 1945 to the Y6 Ranch near Hamlin and in 1982 to Hamlin. He was a former director of the Board of Community Development in Hamlin and was a member of the Texas Hereford and Southwestern Cattlemen's associations. He also was a Meals on Wheels volunteer. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church and was a longtime secretary of the Faithful Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; one son, Kenneth Payne of College Station; one daughter, Sandra McCoy of Hamlin; two brothers, Thad M. Payne of Napa, Calif., and Jessie O. Payne of Junction City, Calif.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Katreen Wallace
RANGER -- Katreen Wallace, 93, of Levelland and formerly of Ranger, died Monday in a Levelland nursing home.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Rita's Catholic Church with the Rev. Vincent Inamitti officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Wallace was born in McGregor and graduated from Mineral Wells High School. She lived in Ranger for 65 years and was a member of the Lady's Bridge Club in Ranger, 1920 Club and Altar Society at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Ranger. She was the widow of Harry Wallace.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Cowan of Atlanta; two sons, Jack Wallace of Palestine and Jim Wallace of Levelland; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Floy Mapes
HASKELL -- Floy Mapes, 96, lifelong local resident, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in East Side Baptist Church with the Rev. David Page officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Mapes was born in Comanche County and was a homemaker. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church and was the widow of Elbert Mapes, whom she married in 1919 in Haskell.
Survivors include one daughter, Freida Piland of Haskell; two sons, Bob Mapes of Haskell, Okla., and Gene Mapes of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Joe Holland
BROWNWOOD -- Joe W. Holland, 57, lifelong local resident, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Derek Wheeless officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Holland was born in Brownwood, where he graduated from high school in 1959, and worked as an engineer for a telephone company and as a construction contractor. He was a retired rancher and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lina Holland of Brownwood; two daughters, Christi Dooling of Fort Worth and Natalie Wheeless of Irving; his mother, Lena Holland Willett of Brownwood; two brothers, Larry Holland and Robert Holland, both of Brownwood; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Royce McLaury
GUTHRIE -- Royce S. McLaury, 67, Stonewall County native, died Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Guthrie Community Center with Willard Moody officiating. Burial will be in Guthrie Cemetery, directed by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah.
Mr. McLaury worked as a cowboy for many years for the following ranches: 6666 Ranch in Guthrie and Borger; F Cross Ranch and Triangle Ranch, both in Paducah; Bob Macy Ranch, Beggs Ranch and U Lazy S Ranch, all in Post; S Lazy S Ranch in McAdoo; U Up U Down Ranch in Aspermont; Pitchfork Ranch and Ross Ranch, both in Guthrie; and Waggoner Ranch in Vernon. He had been King County judge since February, 1997 and was a member of the Working Ranch Cowboys Association, Texas County Judges Association and First Christian Church in Paducah.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn McLaury of Guthrie; one son, Buster McLaury of Benjamin; two daughters, Mayme Pierce of Weatherford and Tracy Holly of Irving; one brother, Roy McLaury of Borger; four grandchildren; and several nieces.
