Dorothy Lee Patterson
MUNDAY -- Dorothy Lee Patterson, 76, lifelong local resident, died Wednesday in a Haskell hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Munday First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Patterson was born in Knox County and married L.B. Patterson Jr. in 1945 in Munday. She was a homemaker and worked as a teacher's aide for 17 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Munday; two daughters, Patsy Patterson of Lubbock and Nancy Wilde of Munday; one son, Boyd Patterson of Fort Worth; three sisters, Edna Demel of Pep, Evelyn Followill of Tyler and Madge Weaver of Lubbock; one brother, Ray Hardin of Lockney; and three grandchildren.

Carol Ann Seals
Carol Ann Seals, 55, of Lake Fort Phantom, died Thursday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery with the Rev. David McGraw officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home of Clyde.
Mrs. Seals was born in Noodle and married Jimmy Seals in 1958 in Abilene. She moved to Clyde in 1983 from Nugent and, later, to Lake Fort Phantom. She worked as a secretary at McCall Motors and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Clyde.
Survivors include her husband, of Lake Fort Phantom; two sons, Gary James Seals of Abilene and Terry Mitchell Seals of Clyde; one brother, Charles Morgan of Clyde; and three grandchildren.

Ernest Clemmer
Ernest R. Clemmer, 86, self-employed building contractor since 1946, died Tuesday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Fred McNab officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Clemmer was born in Callahan County and grew up in Hamby. He married Irene Gooch in 1934 in Hamby and moved to Abilene that year from Hamby.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Frances Carson and Ernestine "Tina" Nelson, both of Abilene; five brothers, Elvie Clemmer of Monahans, R.E. Clemmer of Merkel, Floyd Clemmer and Cloise Clemmer, both of Abilene, and Don Clemmer of Andrews; two sisters, Nita Boyd of Rosenburg and Verna Jo Gabbard of Abilene; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Earldene Allen
ROSCOE -- Earldene Allen, 69, of Lubbock and formerly of Roscoe, died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Roscoe First Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Willis officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Allen was born in Roscoe, where she graduated from high school, and moved to Lubbock in 1967. She retired from Plains Cotton Growers. She was a member of Roscoe First Baptist Church and was the widow of Floyd Lee Allen Jr., whom she married in 1945 in Roscoe.
Survivors include one son, Robert Allen of Lubbock; one daughter, Priscilla Hale of Lubbock; two brothers, L.B. Smith of San Antonio and George Smith of Grapevine; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Bobby Jack Hunt Sr.
EARLY -- Bobby Jack Hunt Sr., 63, died Wednesday at his home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Knight officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Hunt attended school in San Saba and moved to Early in 1971. He worked as a truck driver. He was a Baptist and was the widower of Joy Adams Hunt, whom he married in 1963 in Weatherford.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Hunt Jr. of Early; three daughters, Loretta Sue Donahoo, Laura Janell Ellis and Shelly Marie Heard, all of Early; three brothers, Tommy Hunt and Billy Hunt, both of Fort Worth, and Kenneth Hunt of Bryan; three sisters, Mary Sanderson of Aledo, Molly Baker of Granbury and Betty Yerley of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

John Sharp
ROTAN -- John Sharp, 88, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Roby Cemetery with the Rev. L.D. Parks officiating, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mr. Sharp was born in Erath County and moved to Fisher County in 1927. He was a farmer and was a member of Hobbs First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Dick Sharp of Aspermont and Eugene Sharp of Plainview; three sisters, Zada Goodwin of Corpus Christi, Margie Upshaw of Roby and Leota Obriant of Rotan; and many nieces and nephews.

Marie Hanks
EARLY -- Marie Hanks, 83, died Wednesday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hanks was born in West Plains, Mo., and was a homemaker. She moved to Early in 1979. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Basil E. Hanks, whom she married in 1928 in Shawnee, Okla.
Survivors include one son, Bill Hanks of Amarillo; one daughter, Melba Beatty of Houston; one sister, Margie Davis of Benton, Ark.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Reba Naomi Shott
Reba Naomi Shott, 84, of Palestine and formerly of Abilene, died Thursday in a Palestine nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Wayne Oglesby officiating. Burial will be in Hamby Cemetery.
Mrs. Shott was born in Waveland, Ark., and attended school in Piney Fork and Havana, Ark. She moved to Palestine in 1987 from Abilene. She was a member of Northpark Church of Christ in Abilene and was the widow of Floyd David Shott, whom she married in 1933 in Yell County, Ark.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Shott of Abilene and Melvin Shott of Houston; two daughters, Wanda Beil of Palestine and Doris Garvin of Cisco; three sisters, Vernice Shaver of Fort Smith, Ark., and Zelta Smith and Mildred Hood, both of Benton, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Stancel Oscar 'Slim' Bassett
Stancel Oscar "Slim" Bassett, 64, died Thursday at his home.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Southside Church of God, 2826 Barrow, with the Revs. Danny Thompson and George Ivy officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange. Burial will be at a later date in Rocky Hills Cemetery in Sebastopol, Miss., directed by Stephens Funeral Home of Union, Miss.
Mr. Bassett was born in Mississippi, where he grew up, and married Marjorie Archer in 1955 in Abilene. He moved to Abilene in 1955 and worked as an oilfield driller for 26 years until retiring in 1976. He was a member of Southside Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, LaVoyd "Linnie" Davis of Cyril, Okla., and Nellie Utley of Arlington; his mother, Nellie Bassett of Sebastopol, Miss.; two brothers, Henry Bassett of Sebastopol, Miss., and Dorman Bassett of Mesquite; six sisters, Delma Bassett of Portland, Ore., Mary Brown of Theodore, Ala., Yvonne Beckham of Meridian, Miss., Jo Lewis of Enterprise, Miss., Martha Foreana of Rose Hill, Miss., and Mildred Tatum of Sebastopol, Miss.; and one grandchild.
