Adell 'Granny' Holt
TRENT -- Adell "Granny" Holt, 95, died Wednesday at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trent United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Trent Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Mrs. Holt was born in Center Hill and was salutatorian of the 1919 graduating class at Kennard High School. She was a farmer and rancher and a homemaker. She was a member of the Trent Garden Club, United Methodist Women and Trent United Methodist Church and was the widow of Albert A. Holt, whom she married in 1920 in Center Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Horace Holt of Trent and Mark Holt of Holland, Texas; three daughters, Catherine Bishop of Trent, Dorothae Bishop of Merkel and Jewel Henager of Robinson; one sister, Eva Bland of Kennard; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Daisy Hall
Myrtle Daisy Hall, 72, died Thursday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Hall was born in Bradshaw and moved to Abilene in 1940. She was a homemaker and was the widow of Joe E. Hall Sr., whom she married in 1941 in Abilene.
Survivors include three sons, Rickey Hall and Joe Hall Jr., both of Abilene, and Michael Hall of Clyde; one daughter, Barbara Toler of Abilene; five sisters, Lorennie Roberts, Gathalee Stevens and Violet Rhinehart, all of Abilene, Retta Stevens of Big Spring and Erin Harrison of Mineral Wells; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Leslie Janelle Powell
FORT WORTH -- Leslie Janelle Powell, 20, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mass was said Wednesday in St. Ann Catholic Church in Burleson. Burial was in Emerald Hills Memorial Park, directed by Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.
Ms. Powell was born in Fort Worth. She attended Cooper High School in Abilene before graduating from Crowley High School. She worked as a night checker for Winn-Dixie Inc. in Crowley.
Survivors include her father, Randy Powell of Fort Worth; her mother and stepfather, Beverly Coonrod and Paul Lewis of Fort Worth; four sisters, Vanessa Powell, Nicki Powell, Ashley Powell and Brittney Powell, all of Fort Worth; her maternal grandmother, Faye Coonrod of Fort Worth; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Powell; her stepgrandfather, Tom Lewis of Abilene; and her maternal great-grandmother, Donna Patterson of Fort Worth.

Gerald Caldwell
BLANKET -- Gerald W. Caldwell, 81, died Thursday in a Brownwood hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with the Revs. Gary Day and Ray Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Rock Church Cemetery.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Comanche County and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He moved to Blanket in 1964 and worked as a carpenter. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two brothers, Charles S. Caldwell of Blanket and Alvin R. Caldwell of Abilene; and three sisters, Lois Moore and Lucille Connally, both of Brownwood, and Ruby Johnson of Early.

Ethel Glass
SWEETWATER -- Ethel E. Glass, 91, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lyndel Hix officiating. Burial will be in Loraine Cemetery.
Ms. Glass was born in Hamilton County and moved to Sweetwater in 1955. She was a homemaker and was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ivy Graham of Sweetwater and Patsy Stanley of Big Spring; one son, Marshall Burrus of Snyder; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

E.W. 'Jack' DeBusk
BURKETT -- E.W. "Jack" DeBusk, 84, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains with Dr. Richard Chaffin officiating. Burial will be in Burkett Cemetery.
Mr. DeBusk was born in Coleman County and was a stockfarmer. He was a member of Burkett Methodist Church and was the widower of Zora McDermett DeBusk, whom he married in 1932 in Santa Anna.
Survivors include one son, Pat DeBusk of Houston; two sisters, Lois Garrett of Cross Plains and Jo Davee of Rising Star; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

John 'Lewis' Kinsey
MERKEL -- John "Lewis" Kinsey, 77, died Thursday in an Amarillo hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mr. Kinsey was born in Sylvester, where he attended school, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a bricklayer in Lubbock and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include one son, John Kinsey of Hawley; one brother, Fate Kinsey of Lubbock; one sister, Irene Barnes of Merkel; and two grandchildren.

Lida Mae Howard
RISING STAR -- Lida Mae Howard, 89, of Powder Springs, Ga., and formerly of Rising Star, died Sunday in a Marietta, Ga. hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Rising Star Church of Christ with Gary Adams officiating. Burial will be in Longbranch Cemetery, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Howard was born in Coryell County and was a homemaker. She moved to Hatboro, Pa. in 1990 from Rising Star, and Georgia in 1993. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was the widow of Curtis Howard, whom she married in 1927 in Rising Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty L. Evans of Powder Springs, Ga.; one sister, Virgi Morgan of Dumas, Lois Wilkins of Junction City, Kan., and Pauline Howard of Rising Star; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Vivian Hipp
BLACKWELL -- Vivian E. Hipp, 91, of Carrollton and formerly of Blackwell, died Friday in a Carrollton nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Winters with Rick Cobb officiating. Burial will be in Shep Cemetery.
Mrs. Hipp was born in Nolan County, where she lived most of her life, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Blackwell Church of Christ and was the widow of John Hipp, whom she married in Blackwell.
Survivors include three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Steve Herring
HAMLIN -- Steve G. Herring, 88, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hamlin East Cemetery with Jerry Jackson officiating, directed by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Herring was born in Dora, N.M., where he grew up, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Pioneer Pavers and Kerr Construction, both in Lubbock, for many years until retiring. He married Carmon Elliott Hallmark in 1965 in Stamford and moved to Hamlin in 1974. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Hamlin; one stepson, W.H. "Dub" Hallmark of Lockney; one stepdaughter, Donna Hall of Hawley; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three nephews.
