William Harold Pittman
DE LEON -- William Harold Pittman, 80, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Nowlin Funeral Home Chapel with Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Burial will be in De Leon Cemetery.
Mr. Pittman was born in Blackwell and married Arlena Jones in 1934. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He moved to De Leon in 1954 and was a retired carrier of the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of De Leon; one son, Larry Pittman of Keller; two daughters, Carolyn Jean Kirk of De Leon and Pamela Porter of Corpus Christi; one sister, Beatrice Mayhon of El Paso; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Robert Martin Fielder Jr.
IRVING -- Robert Martin Fielder Jr., 72, formerly of Abilene, died Thursday in a local hospital.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Ellis Chapel of Park Cities Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Royal officiating, directed by Chism-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Fielder was born in Vernon and served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He graduated from Baylor University and moved to Irving in 1971. He worked as a veterans representative for the Texas Employment Commission and was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Fielder of Irving; three sons, Bruce Fielder of Amarillo, John Fielder of Lake Dallas and David Patrick Fielder of Irving; and two grandchildren.

Frelon Huff Sr.
COLORADO CITY -- Frelon O. Huff Sr., 61, died Thursday in a Big Spring hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Mitchell County Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Wilhelm officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Huff was born in Sparta, Tenn., and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He married Joan Patton in 1961 in Lebanon, Ind., and worked as a welder. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Retired Ironworkers Local 379 in Lafayette, Ind., and attended St. Ann's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Colorado City; three sons, Frelon Huff Jr. of Odessa, James H. Huff II of Remington, Ind., and Victor Huff of Colorado City; one sister, Dianna Reiss of Battleground, Ind.; two brothers, Frazier Huff of Remington, Ind., and Franklin Huff of Rensselaer, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.

Essie Pearl Eads Renshaw
BRONTE -- Essie Pearl Eads Renshaw, 79, died Friday at her home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Central Baptist Church with the Revs. Garry Bivins and Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Fort Chadbourne Cemetery, directed by Shaffer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Renshaw was born in Beattie in Comanche County and moved to Bronte in 1925. She worked as a dietary supervisor at the Bronte nursing home and was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jessie Stout of The Colony; one brother, Jesse Eads Jr. of Robert Lee; and one grandchild.

Shane Burgess
CARBON -- Shane Burgess, 27, formerly of Gorman, died Friday from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Gorman with Bob Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery near Carbon.
Mr. Burgess was born in Gorman, where he graduated from high school in 1988, and was a rancher. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his parents, Dicky and Madge Burgess of Carbon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Retired Army Col. Jack Downing
ASPERMONT -- Retired U.S. Army Col. Jack W. Downing, 77, of San Antonio, died Thursday.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in San Antonio. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Downing was a logistician while in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps for 36 years. He was deputy chief of staff of logistics for the U.S. Army Health Services Command at Fort Sam Houston before retiring in 1978. He was the widower of Clara L. Downing.
Survivors include two sons, Jack W. Downing Jr. of Austin and Robert W. Downing of Lake McQueeney.

Mabel Leona Reynolds
GORMAN -- Mabel Leona Reynolds, 73, lifelong area resident, died Friday in a De Leon hospital after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Simpson Cemetery near Kokomo with Jeff Smith officiating, directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reynolds was born in Gorman, where she married Edgar Reynolds in 1958. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, of Gorman; one son, John W. Stuard of Saginaw; one daughter, Marjorie Churchill of Farmington, Conn.; one brother, Truman Maynard of Cisco; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Alma Russell
MIDLAND -- Alma Russell, 80, formerly of Desdemona, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Desdemona Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Haggard officiating, directed by Ellis Funeral Home.
Ms. Russell was born in Desdemona and graduated from De Leon High School. She then moved to Odessa and was a firefighter at the Midland Air Field during World War II. She moved to Midland in 1950 and worked for several Midland car dealerships. She was active in Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Baptist.
Survivors include two brothers, Dean Gregory of Devine and William Allen Gregory of Odessa.

William 'Bill' Wayne Dobbins
ANSON -- William "Bill" Wayne Dobbins, 57, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Loren Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Neinda Cemetery.
Mr. Dobbins was born in Stamford and graduated from Anson High School in 1958. He worked as a flooring contractor. He moved to Little Rock, Ark. in 1973 and returned to Anson in 1994. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his fiancee, Nancy Barth of Anson; one daughter, Kimberly Dobbins of Austin; two stepsons, Gill Bramlett and Robert Bramlett, both of Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, Graham Dobbins of Midland; and one niece and three nephews.
