George Duncan
George W. Duncan, 78, of LaBelle, Fla., and formerly of Abilene, died Sunday in Lehigh Acres, Fla.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Iberis Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Mayer officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Duncan was born in Abilene and graduated from Wylie High School in 1937 and Palm Beach Junior College. He worked as a civil service air traffic controller for 36 years. He lived in West Palm Beach, Fla. for many years until moving to LaBelle, Fla. in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Florence "Del" Duncan of LaBelle, Fla.; four daughters, Kathleen Blumenstock of San Jose, Calif., Cynthia Wermuth of LaBelle, Fla., Kathy Connelly of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mary E. May of Homestead, Fla.; three sons, Lee B. Downs of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Larry Downs of Okeechobee, Fla., and Randy W. Downs of Houston; one sister, Blanche Wheeler of Abilene; and two nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Parkinson's Research Foundation or a favorite charity.

Charles McKay Morris
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- Charles McKay Morris, 68, formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday at his home from an apparent heart attack.
The body will be cremated. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in University Church of Christ in Abilene. Arrangements are being made by Farrar Funeral Home.
Mr. Morris was born in Abilene and graduated from Abilene Christian College, now Abilene Christian University, in 1949. He was the son of the late A.B. Morris, longtime athletic director at Abilene Christian University. He was a U.S. Naval officer in the 1950s before becoming the basketball coach at David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tenn. He was athletic director of High Point College in High Point, N.C. He then was an executive of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics from 1969 until retiring in 1991. He oversaw the NAIA's football, basketball and tennis tournaments, among other activities, and lived in Kansas City, Mo., and Tulsa, Okla. He later coached the William Jewell College tennis team in Liberty, Mo. He is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame. He moved to Jefferson City in 1994 and was active with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Morris of Jefferson City; two daughters, Rebecca Morris of Boston and Susan Morris of Boulder, Colo.; five stepchildren; his mother, Rebecca Morris of Abilene; and three grandchildren.

Maxine Daugherty Driggs
DALLAS -- Maxine Daugherty Driggs, 74, formerly of Abilene, died Monday after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Duncanville. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park, directed by Lamar & Smith Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Driggs was born in San Angelo and grew up in Abilene. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1944. She married Guy Driggs in 1944 and was active in the Dallas County Medical Auxiliary and Glen Oaks Garden Club. She worked with the youth at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and, later, was a member of the Women's Relief Society.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Kenneth Driggs, Darryl A. Driggs and Dennis Driggs; and eight grandchildren.

George Carlile
BAIRD -- George L. Carlile, 87, died Monday in an Abilene hospital after a sudden illness.
Services were held Tuesday in Parker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Ross Cemetery Annex.
Mr. Carlile was born in Belle Plains and lived in Callahan County most of his life. He was a rancher and worked as a cowboy. He was a member of the ClydeChurch of Christ.
Survivors his wife, Eula Carlile of Baird; one daughter, D'Ann Holson of Tuscola; one stepson, Harvey Christensen of Dallas; two sisters, Amy Albrecht of Cross Plains and Doris Wilson of Baird; five stepchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Alva Jefferson 'Bob' Boyles
ASPERMONT -- Alva Jefferson "Bob" Boyles, 92, died Monday in a Hamlin hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Aspermont First Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Boyles was born in Van Zandt County and married Nadine Long in 1929 in Sylvester. He retired from the Texas Highway Department and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Aspermont; one son, Bobbie Boyles of Aspermont; one sister, Jim Curnutt of Edgewood; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Robert Leo Cadenhead
CLYDE -- Robert Leo Cadenhead, 92, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Nichols officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Bangs Cemetery in Brown County.
Mr. Cadenhead was born in Downing in Comanche County and was one of the first teachers of aviation education at the high school level in the 1930s and '40s. He was a teacher and principal in Texas and New Mexico for 31-1/2 years until retiring. He moved to Clyde in 1967 from Alamogordo, N.M., and was a member of Trinity Church.
Survivors include one son, Don Cadenhead of Bosque Farms, N.M.; three daughters, Voncille Sparkman of Lawton, Okla., Donna Garrett of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sharron Seeley of Boston; one sister, Annie Schulze of Duncanville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Elsie Daniel
ROTAN -- Elsie Daniel, 88, lifelong Fisher County resident, died Monday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery.
Mrs. Daniel was born in Fisher County. She was a member of Roby First Baptist Church and was the widow of Hubert Daniel, whom she married in 1925 in Rotan.
Survivors include 11 children, Yvonne Hicks, Carnie Daniel, Daphine Early, Sherman Daniel, Toad Daniel and Gaylon Freeman, all of Rotan, Bugger Daniel, Donnie Daniel and Linda Simmons, all of Sweetwater, Vernon Daniel of Wintergreen, Va., and Juanita Neves of Roby; 31 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

Jose DeLaRosa Jr.
WINTERS -- Jose DeLaRosa Jr., 65, died Monday at his home.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Carmel Catholic Church with the Rev. Sam Homsey officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mr. DeLaRosa was born in San Antonio and married Andrea Martinez in 1971 in Chickasha, Okla. He worked in the shipping department at Dry Manufacturing until retiring in 1994 and was a member of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Winters; five sons, Joseph DeLaRosa of San Antonio, Edward Rocha of Belle Chase, La., Margarito Rocha and Martin Rocha, both of Chickasha, Okla., and Aaron Paul Reyna of Winters; five daughters, Sylvia Reyna of Dumas, and Martha Benitez, Annette DeLaRosa, Janie DeLaRosa and Cindy DeLaRosa, all of San Antonio; one brother, Florencio DeLaRosa of San Antonio; one sister, Lucy Baldonado of Winters; and 15 grandchildren.

Juanita Yvonne Stanley
CLYDE -- Juanita Yvonne Stanley, 51, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene with the Rev. Sam Earp officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stanley was born in Rotan and graduated from Jayton High School. She married Jay Stanley in 1990 in Aspermont and moved to Clyde in 1993 from Abilene. She worked as a seamstress for Hamilton Manufacturing in Abilene and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of Clyde; one brother, James L. Reed of Abilene; and two sisters, Jane Van Houten of Aspermont and Jo Ann Trevino of Big Spring.

Debra Turner Perez
BAIRD -- Debra Turner Perez, 31, died Tuesday in Baird.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Belle Plaine Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Willoughby officiating, directed by Parker Funeral Home.
Ms. Perez was born in Comanche and married Santiago Perez in 1993 in Abilene. She worked in home health care and moved to Baird in 1995. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Steven Turner of Baird; three daughters, Alisha Turner, Crystal Turner and Marinoel Turner, all of Baird; her parents, Russell Turner of Abilene and Norma Turner-Arturo Velis of Baird; two sisters, Becky Brooks of Coleman and Kathy Blanton of Baird; her grandmother, Lenora Lovvorn of Baird; and six nieces and nephews.
The body will be at Lenora Lovvorn's home until 1 p.m. Friday.
