Ben Kniffen
Ben D. Kniffen, 71, employed by Halliburton for 35 years, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Potosi Cemetery with Weldon Gann officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Kniffen was born in Abilene, where he attended school. He married Georgia Parker in 1944 in Abilene and was a member of Masonic Lodge 559 and 16th & Vine Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; two sons, David R. Kniffen of Dallas and Bennie G. Kniffen of Fort Worth; one daughter, Debra Kniffen of Abilene; three sisters, Gertrude Amersen of Dallas, Edna Roberts of Abilene and June Bollinger of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Edde Baucum
ODESSA -- Edde Davidson Baucum, 71, mother of an Abilene resident, died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Truman J. Warren Jr. officiating, directed by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Baucum was born in Colorado City and worked as an executive secretary in the engineering department of Convair in San Diego. She moved to Midland in 1952 from San Diego. She was a secretary to the district manager of Dowell for many years, as well as for attorney Vern Knickerbocker and Tex-Am Oil Co, all in Midland. She married Del Frank Baucum in 1965 in Odessa and then moved to Odessa. She was a volunteer for the West Texas Literacy Council and supported Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, High Sky Children's Ranch, Servants of the Poor and Door of Hope. She was a former director of the Women's Association at the Odessa Country Club. She was a member of the Americans of Royal Decent, Magna Carta Dames, Daughters of 1812 and Nathaniel Davis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Coffman of Washington and Suzanne Richards of Abilene; one sister, Mrs. B.J. Kellogg of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, High Sky Children's Ranch or Westminster Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

W.H. 'Dub' McKeever
STAMFORD -- "Dub" McKeever, 63, of Abilene and formerly of Stamford died Thursday in an Abilene hospital after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rockdale Cemetery with the Rev. Jessie Morton officiating, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mr. McKeever was born in Stamford and was a lifelong Big Country resident. He graduated from Lueders High School and married Emma Crow in 1952. He was a self-employed backhoe operator and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Carl McKeever and David McKeever, both of Abilene; two daughters, Delinda Price of Abilene and Michelle Dillard of Clyde; one brother, Eddie McKeever of Haskell; one sister, Maxine McKeever of Salina, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bud Moreland
GRAHAM -- Bud Moreland, 68, brother of an Abilene resident, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edgar Jones officiating. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery.
Mr. Moreland was born in Graham, where he was a lifelong resident, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Diana Dixon in 1976 in Graham and was a self-employed oil and gas producer. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Graham; two sons, Johnnie Moreland and Jackie Ray, both of Graham; one daughter, Debbie Clark of Graham; two sisters, Lois Spears of Austin and Betty Willingham of Abilene; three aunts and two uncles; and six grandchildren.

Alvin Dawson
ALVORD -- Alvin H. Dawson, 76, member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Abilene, died Thursday in Decatur.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Grace Baptist Church with Kenneth Wood and Van Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Dawson Cemetery in Wise County, directed by Coker Funeral Home of Decatur.
Mr. Dawson was born in Crowell and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Frances Geneva Grooms in 1947 in Decatur and worked as a health care ward attendant. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 113.
Survivors include his wife, of Alvord; two sons, John Randall Dawson of Graham and Bobby David Dawson of Alvord; four daughters, Frances Beebe of Levelland, Fraya Nell Meyer of Defiance, Mo., and Priscilla Loper and Regina Moody, both of Alvord; one brother, Calvin Dawson of Chico; two sisters, Maudie Sheppard of Cross Plains and Ruby Pierce of Knox City; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Donald Stout
BROWNWOOD -- Donald W. Stout, 83, died Friday in a local hospital after a sudden illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with the Rev. Dan Wright and Alvis Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Stout was born in Crawfordsville, Ind., and was a World War II veteran. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant and moved to Brownwood in 1979. He was the widower of Mildred Stout. He married Audrey Lucille Matthews in 1992 in Brownwood and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, of Brownwood; three sons, Billy D. Stout of Carrollton, Jim Stout of Brownwood and Robert W. Stout of Tennessee; one daughter, Joyce Craft of Kentucky; two stepsons, James Rushing of Brownwood and Bob Ransburger of Washington; three stepdaughters, Dessa Mainor of Georgia, Yvonne Lewis of Oklahoma and Naomi Hume of Abilene; one brother, Chester Stout of Crawfordsville, Ind.; two sisters, Edna Runyon of Indiana and Thelma Olson of Brownwood; and several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Geneva Leard
CISCO -- Geneva Leard, 84, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Philpott officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Leard was born in Post Oak and married Roscoe F. Leard in 1930 in Snyder. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of Cisco; one brother, Cecil Ray Brown of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.

Henry Christian
BROWNWOOD -- Henry Christian, 65, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ruben Packer and Dr. Gene Law officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mr. Christian was born in Houston and moved to Brownwood in 1940. He married Ada Ione Rosenau in 1954 in Brownwood and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked as an automotive machinist and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; two sons, David Christian of Ovalo and Randy Christian of Brownwood; one daughter, Peggy Parsons of Brownwood; and two grandchildren.

Linda Sue Witzsche
CISCO -- Linda Sue Witzsche, 42, died Thursday in a Fort Worth hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Martin Kaufmann officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Ms. Witzsche was born in Cisco and graduated from Cisco High School, Cisco Junior College and the University of North Texas in Denton. She worked as a department manager for Kmart and formerly lived in Corsicana. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Lee Roy and Velda Witzsche of Cisco; one sister, Jean Stroebel of Cisco; and one niece and two nephews.
