Dorothy Eva Parr
DENTON -- Dorothy Eva Parr, 81, sister of two Big Country residents, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Cindy Nichols Chapel of Denton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cliff Feeler officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery in Krum, directed by Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parr was born in Great Bend, Kan., and worked as a cook for North Texas State University, later known as the University of North Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Arvil Parr, whom she married in 1943 in Albany.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Wayne Parr of Denton; one daughter, Marsha Parr of Denton; two sisters, Oleta Moseley of Ranger and Betty Jo Riley of Moran; one grandchild; and six nephews and four nieces.

Neta Elrod
ROTAN -- Neta Elrod, 74, lifelong Fisher County resident, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Rotan First Baptist Church with the Revs. L.D. Parks and Mike Stedham officiating. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elrod was born in Fisher County, where she married Elvis Elrod in 1941, and worked at Clinic Pharmacy before retiring. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, of Rotan; one son, Dexter Elrod of Rotan; one sister, Doris Smith of San Angelo; one brother, Alvis Cleveland of Dallas; and two grandchildren.

William Thomas 'Dub' Barnes
DE LEON -- William Thomas "Dub" Barnes, 84, owner of Barnes Lumber Yard since 1946, died Saturday in Dallas.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in De Leon First Baptist Church with Tom Satterwhite officiating. Burial will be in Erath Garden of Memory Cemetery, directed by Nowlin Funeral Home.
Mr. Barnes was born in Comyn and married Elsie Sanders in 1940 in De Leon.
Survivors include his wife, of De Leon; one son, Terry Barnes of Dallas; one sister, Hazel Dahlgren of Stanwood, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Carol Ann Stroebel Roy
SEGUIN -- Carol Ann Stroebel Roy, 44, daughter of two Rising Star residents, died Saturday in Seguin.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Goetz Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bonnie Claycomb officiating. A second service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco. Burial will be in Romney Lutheran Cemetery in Rising Star.
Mrs. Roy was born in Rising Star and worked as a legal secretary.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Roy of Seguin; her parents, Clarence and Ruth Stroebel of Rising Star; and one brother, Michael Stroebel of College Station.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday in Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco.

Gracie Mae Hash
Gracie Mae Hash, 79, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Clyde Cemetery in Clyde with Larry Hooper officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Hash was born in Cloudy, Okla., and moved to Clyde from Graham in 1952 and to Abilene in 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal church. She married J.W. Hash in 1953 in Graham.
Survivors include one son, Ed Wright of Ninnekah, Okla.; two daughters, Betty Norman of Anton and Margie Hendricks of Eastland; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The body will lie in state at Bailey Funeral Home in Clyde from 8-10:30 a.m. today.

Edward Thomas Hitch
Edward Thomas Hitch, 64, died Friday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church with Arthur Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Hitch grew up in Palmyra, Wis., and graduated from Fort Atkinson, Wis., High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, retiring in 1973. He graduated from Cisco Junior College with an associate's degree in business administration and had been employed by Refrigeration & Supply, Color Vision and Nelson Supply. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Mesquite Oaks Golf Course. He married Margaret V. "Marge" Watts in 1953 in San Antonio.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Phillip Hitch of Peoria, Ill., and Rodney Hitch of San Antonio; three brothers, Eugene Hitch of Goldsboro, N.C., Harvey Hitch of Delaware and Howard Hitch of Fort Atkinson; three sisters, Hazel Davis and Elsie Sahr, both of Fort Atkinson, and Louise Willing of Jefferson, Wis.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1202 S. Pioneer Drive, Abilene 79605.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m. today.

John Steve Stubblefield
BALLINGER - John Steve Stubblefield, 92, of Norton died Saturday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ferris Akins officiating. Burial will be in Old Runnels Cemetery.
Mr. Stubblefield was born in Runnels County and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a charter member of Norton Lions Club. He married Bennie Robinson in 1929 in Ballinger.
Survivors include his wife, of Norton; one sister, Ruby Cowan of Mesquite; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wesley Hardin
ROTAN - Wesley Hardin, 72, of Strawn and formerly of Rotan died Saturday at a Comanche hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dutch Parks officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mr. Hardin was born in Scurry County and was an independent oil field contractor most of his life. He was a Baptist and a veteran of World War II. He had lived in Strawn for 23 years. He married Judy Bowen in 1946.
Survivors include his wife, of Strawn; four daughters, Linda Janosky of Bellville, Sandy Hancock of Stephenville, Sissy Mikeski of Cypress and Tooter Koenig of Comanche; six brothers, Joe Hardin of Hazelgreen, Ala., Jimmy Hardin of Bishop, Kennith Hardin of Rotan, Ralph Hardin of Madisonville, Morris Hardin of Lubbock and Doc Hardin of Victoria; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Alma Lee Anderson
CLYDE - Alma Lee Anderson, 84, died Sunday at an Abilene retirement center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Don Greenway officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Romney (Eastland County) and attended school in Cisco. She moved to Clyde from Longview in 1985. She was a homemaker and a member of the Southern Baptist church. She married William Anderson in 1932 in Granbury; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three brothers, L.B. Gage of Clyde, Dewey Gage of Kilgore and Bill Gage of Tishomingo, Okla.; two sisters, Ruby Gage of Clyde and Betty Cleary of Kilgore; and several nieces and nephews.
