Ruth Miller
CISCO - Ruth Miller, 86, died Sunday at a Baird nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Flatwood Cemetery with the Rev. Don Patton officiating, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miller was born in Dublin and was a practical nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Fort Worth. She married W.E. Miller in 1930 in Eastland; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Miller and Rex Miller, both of Putnam; one daughter, Jeanell Smith of Graford; two sisters, Glodie Slaughter and Ola Hailey, both of Cisco; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

James Caldwell
James E. Caldwell, 76, of Abilene, founder of Caldwell Music Co. and Caldwell Products, Inc., died Monday at a local care center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Kelly Schneider officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Weatherford and lived in Abilene most of his life. He attended Abilene schools and Texas Tech University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. He married Ruby Williams in 1950 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one daughter, Ruth Ann Caldwell of Abilene; one son, Michael Caldwell of Abilene; and one brother, Joe Caldwell of Palo Verdes, Calif.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3150 Vogel, Abilene 79603; or Alzheimer's Association of West Central Texas, Inc., P.O. Box 3344, Abilene 79604.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5:30-7:30 p.m. today.

James Willie Mandrell
James Willie Mandrell, 72, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 5750 Hwy. 277 South, with Sue Rowlett officiating. Burial will be in McBee Cemetery.
Mr. Mandrell was born in Dawson and was a longtime resident of Abilene. He was a construction worker.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Mandrell and Larry Dean Mandrell, both of Plainview, and Donnie Mandrell of Abilene; four daughters, Mary Jordan, Tresha Mandrell and Lisa Mandrell, all of Abilene, and Linda Mandrell of Covington; one brother, Ray Mandrell of Atlas, Okla.; one sister, Georgia Goodman of Texas; and two grandsons.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Ernest Monroe Jr.
Ernest Monroe Jr., 80, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at King Solomon Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Monroe was born in Brazos County and moved to Abilene from Bryan in 1949. He was a service manager for Merchants Motor Lines, retiring after 33 years. He was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church. He married Marie Webb in 1938 in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; two sons, Raymond Monroe of Compton, Calif., and Charles Monroe of Bastrop; one daughter, Ernestine Monroe of Bryan; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Hal Holden
BEAUMONT - Hal S. Holden, 87, died Sunday in Beaumont.
The family will be at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Fort Worth from 10 a.m.-noon today. Graveside services will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Holden grew up in Kaufman and had lived in Beaumont for four years. He was a retired independent oil producer.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Cole of Beaumont; two sisters, Mary Garrie of Mabank and Louise Mims of Abilene; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements in Beaumont were handled by Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Albert Koltermann Sr.
Albert J. Koltermann Sr., 89, of Abilene died Wednesday.
Graveside services were Saturday in Meadowlawn Memorial Park in San Antonio, directed by Porter Loring Funeral Home of San Antonio.
Mr. Koltermann was a member of Pershing Lodge 160 Hermann Sons and was a retired member of Bus Driver's Union 694.
Survivors include one son, Albert J. Koltermann Jr. of Abilene; one stepdaughter, Marilyn Helton of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.

Hulen Jackson
DUNCANVILLE - Hulen L. Jackson, 84, a longtime minister and former Abilene Christian University trustee, died Saturday in Dallas.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Duncanville Church of Christ with Charles Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, directed by David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson was born in Denison and attended Abilene Christian College before graduating from Southeastern Oklahoma University in 1935. He was a Church of Christ minister for more than 50 years and had served in the Dallas area all but one year since 1942. He retired from full-time preaching in 1982. He served on the boards of Bell Trust mission fund, Freedom Press and Cedar Green Elderly Living Center (as chairman). He wrote for the Gospel Advocate, Voice of Freedom, Firm Foundation, 20th Century Christian, Power for Today and Christian Teacher, and wrote several books, including Sunshine Through the Shadows and Who and What is Jesus? He was the widower of Guille Jackson.
Survivors include one son, Foy Oliver Jackson of Duncanville; one daughter, Tempe (Mrs. Robert) Hatter of Arlington; three sisters, Elsie Williams and Lottie Beggs, both of Denison, and Lena Loveless of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, Oliver Jackson of Abilene; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Nona Kathryn Styles
LUBBOCK - Nona Kathryn Styles, 84, mother of Richard Styles, Senior Vice President for Advancement at Hardin-Simmons University, died Sunday at a local nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in New Deal with the Rev. Tim Winn officiating. Burial will be in city of Lubbock Cemetery, directed by Sanders Funeral Home.
Mrs. Styles was born near Clyde and moved to near Lubbock as a child. She graduated from Lubbock High School and lived near Lubbock all her remaining life, farming with her husband until 1983. She was a member of First Baptist Church in New Deal and was a church organist for more than 40 years. She married Manuel Styles in 1932; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Lyn Collier of Wichita Falls; two sons, Richard Styles of Abilene and Bobby Styles of Lubbock; two brothers, Wilbur Lemon of the Woodrow community and Vernon Lemon of Lubbock; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the home on North University from 5-7 p.m. today.

Ben Palmer
BROWNWOOD - Ben M. Palmer, 84, of Austin and a longtime resident of Brownwood, died Sunday at an Austin hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Loyd Hagemeier officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.
Mr. Palmer attended school in Brownwood and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the HUMP Pilot Association, Masonic Lodge, the Waco Scottish Rite Consistory and Suez Shrine Temple. He worked as a salesman for Farm & Ranch Supply and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He married Ruth Chilton in 1933 in Santa Anna; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, James Palmer of Austin and David Palmer of Pflugerville; one half-brother, Alfred Bates of Fort Worth; one half-sister, Carmon Wertz of Fort Worth; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
