Louise Marie Sawyer
BROWNWOOD -- Louise Marie Sawyer, 72, lifelong local resident, died Wednesday in Mission.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Sawyer was born in Brownwood, where she married Chester Pete Sawyer in 1947. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Brownwood; one niece and three nephews; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 16 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Ruth Heatley
ALBANY -- Ruth Heatley, 82, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Bruce Stovall and Joe Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Morehart Mortuary.
Mrs. Heatley was born in Grandview and grew up in Rush Springs, Okla. She moved to Breckenridge in 1946 and Albany in 1963. She operated the Circle A Drive Inn and then worked as a hospital cook, both in Albany. She was the widow of Eldon Heatley, whom she married in 1935 in Rush Springs, Okla.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Hill of Breckenridge and Florence Brooks of Gainesville; one son, Vernon Heatley of Albany; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Vittles by Vehicle or Friendship Baptist Church and left at the funeral home.

Jean Rehm
BROWNWOOD -- Jean Rehm, 85, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mrs. Rehm was born in Novice and lived in Brownwood for many years. She was a homemaker and was a member of 59 Garden Club, a hospital auxiliary and Faith Sunday School Class at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. She was the widow of Mack Rehm.
Survivors include two daughters, Ginger Cadenhead of Brownwood and Maurice "Cookie" Ross of Lufkin; one brother, E.D. Black; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Nell Carter
ALBANY -- Nell K. (Mrs. John) Carter, 81, died Wednesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Albany Cemetery with the Revs. Don Clevenger and Ruben Castaneda officiating, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carter was born in Kansas City, Mo., and served with the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She was a homemaker and was the widow of John E. Carter, whom she married in 1936 in Missouri.
Survivors include several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Maria Luisa Tudor
Maria Luisa Tudor, 61, died Thursday at her home.
A prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South. Mass will be said at 3 p.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Obioma Obi officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tudor was born in La Noria Jalisco, Mexico, and moved to Abilene in 1969 from Piedras Negras, Mexico. She married Walter Lee Tudor in 1973 in Abilene and was a nursing home worker for several years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy L. Depoyster of Abilene and Jose Raul Depoyster of California; three daughters, Maria DeJesus Flores and Rosana Rios, both of Abilene, and Maria Luisa Thacker of Hawaii; one sister, Ventura Hardin of Del Rio; and one brother, Crespin Salcedo of Piedras Negras, Mexico.

Muriel Hutchings Wilhite
Muriel Hutchings Wilhite, 89, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Revs. Norman Stienke and Lavern Janssen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Wilhite was born in Allen, Neb., and moved to Abilene from Carlsbad, N.M. in 1919. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was the widow of Carl Corvan Wilhite, whom she married in 1927.
Survivors include one son, Clarence Brooks Wilhite of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran World Relief.
The family will be at 1477 Minter Lane.

Mallie Lee Melton
SWEETWATER -- Mallie Lee Melton, 90, of Abilene and formerly of Sweetwater, died Wednesday in an Abilene retirement center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Dr. Darris Egger and the Rev. David Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Melton lived most of her life in Nolan and Fisher counties. She moved to Sweetwater in 1943. She attended North Texas State University and earned a master's degree in 1956 from McMurry University. She taught school in Sweetwater for 35 years until retiring in 1972. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Hiran Melton, whom she married in 1941 in Sylvester.
Survivors include one son, Bayles Melton of Dallas; one sister, Louise White of Abilene; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Maria Dolores Dena
MUNDAY -- Maria Dolores Dena, 60, of Abilene and formerly of Munday, died Thursday in an Abilene nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Templo Emanuel Assembly of God with the Revs. Sam Lopez and Rigoberto Contreras officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Memorial Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dena was born in Mexico, where she married Juan F. Dena, and was a homemaker. She moved to Abilene in 1998 from Munday and was a member of Emanuel Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; six sons, Jamie Dena of Houston, Jessie Dena of Premont, Moses Dena and Elias Dena, both of Munday, and Isaias Dena and David Dena, both of Bay City, Mich.; two daughters, Elvira Dena Palomo of Dallas and Elizabeth Dena Gomez of Abilene; one stepsister, Rebecca Ausbury of Sterling, Ill.; one brother and four sisters; and 25 grandchildren.

Josephine Dickinson
COLEMAN -- Josephine Dickinson, 81, of Abilene and formerly of Coleman, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
The body will be cremated. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Birdwell officiating.
Mrs. Dickinson was born in Silver Valley in Coleman County and attended school in Coleman County. She graduated from McMurry College, now McMurry University, and was a school teacher. She married Robert Dickinson in 1943 in Tampa, Fla. She lived in Thailand, Peru, Illinois, Virginia, Mississippi and, for 12 years, Coleman. She moved to Abilene one year ago and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Weslaco and Coleman First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one daughter, Phyllis Trosper of Plano; one sister, Lucille Buck of Arlington; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association.

Creola Myrtle Cone
RULE -- Creola Myrtle Cone, 87, of Abilene and formerly of Rule, died Thursday in an Abilene care center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rule Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Williams officiating, directed by McCauley-Robison Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Cone was born in Haskell County and attended school in Rule. She married H.E. Cone in Fort Worth and was a homemaker. She moved to Abilene about 30 years ago from Rule.
Survivors include six sisters, Emma Glover, Mary Pyland and Hazel Hindman, all of Abilene, Laverne Lee of Fort Worth, Billie Adkins of Crane and Joan Billings of Runaway Bay.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
