Emma Maye Evans Huslage
CONGRESS, Ariz. -- Emma Maye Evans Huslage, 75, formerly of Abilene, died Friday at her home.
A memorial service will be in held in Congress.
Mrs. Huslage was born in Granbury, Texas, and lived most of her life in Abilene. She served with the U.S. Coast Guard Spars during World War II. She married Gerard Huslage in 1944 in St. Petersburg, Fla., and was a homemaker. She was a member of Abilene Garden Club and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene.
Survivors include her husband, of Congress; one daughter, Kathy Guidrey of Congress; one son, Michael Huslage of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Gertrude Holder and Waunda Stevens, both of Abilene; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society.

Sam Wallace
EASTLAND -- Sam S. Wallace, 99, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Flatwood Cemetery with Barry Brown officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Wallace was born at Chambers Creek in Ellis County and was a retired carpenter. He drove a taxi in Eastland for several years. He was a member of Gorman Primitive Baptist Church and was the widower of Modell Herring Wallace, whom he married in 1927 in Breckenridge.
Survivors include one sister, Artie Cates of San Angelo; and several nieces and nephews.

James Ball
FREDERICKSBURG -- James Seeley Ball, 70, formerly of Albany, died Thursday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Ball was born in San Angelo and graduated from Albany High School. He attended North Texas State and Abilene Christian universities. He worked as a building and remodeling contractor. He was active in the Albany Fandangle for about 30 years, either as an actor, scriptwriter, singer or director. He also wrote numerous songs, including "The Cowboy's Prayer". He began directing the community-wide production in 1969 and continued until the middle 1970s when he moved to Fredericksburg. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, James Ball of Austin, John Ball of San Marcos and Jeff Ball of Fredericksburg; his mother, Priscilla Ball of Fredericksburg; one brother, Jerry Ball of Kerrville; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Fredericksburg Church of Christ, Hill Country Memorial Hospital or a favorite charity.

Kathleen Janet Lambert
EASTLAND -- Kathleen Janet Lambert, 79, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital after a short illness.
The body was cremated and no services are planned. Arrangements were made by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Mrs. Lambert was born in Baltimore and was a homemaker. She moved to Salem, Ohio in 1948 and Eastland in 1995. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Oakland, Calif., and was the widow of Peter Lambert, whom she married in 1941 in Brooklin, N.Y.
Survivors include three sons, Howard Lambert of Oakland, Calif., Ray Lambert of Danville, Calif., and Robert Lambert of Eastland; one brother, Tony Bacinski of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Jenny Zimmerman of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Lane
MORAN -- Mary B. Lane, 87, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel in Muskogee, Okla. with Dr. David Becker officiating, directed by Morehart Mortuary of Breckenridge.
Mrs. Lane was born in DeQueen, Ark., and graduated from high school in Muskogee, Okla. She attended beauty school in Dallas. She married Martin George Lane in 1940 in Dallas and lived in Odessa from 1947-67. She and her husband owned and operated George Lane Appliance Store in Odessa. She moved to Moran in 1970. She was active with Order of the Eastern Star in Odessa and was a past two-time worthy matron of the O.E.S. in Moran. She was a former member of Grandview Baptist Church in Odessa. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Muskogee, Okla.
Survivors include her husband, of Moran; one son, Robert "Bob" G. Lane of Colleyville; three brothers, Luther Olmstead of Muskogee, Okla., David Olmstead of Cameron, Mo., and Jerry Olmstead of Independence, Mo.; four sisters, Gloria DaVolt and Peggy Edwards, both of Kidder, Mo., Carolyn Youtsey of Altamond, Mo., and Delores Rone of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas and left at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. today in the funeral home's Heritage Room.

Sue Ella Robertson
EASTLAND -- Sue Ella Robertson, 87, died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery.
Mrs. Robertson was born in Poland and moved to the U.S. at age 5. She attended school in Traverse City, Mich., and married Arthur Robertson in 1927. She moved to Strawn in 1978 from Detroit, and Eastland in 1984.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Elaine MacBeth of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sons, Donald D. Robertson of Alma, Mich., Erwin E. Robertson of Holt, Mich., and LaVerne Kleam of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; one sister, Martha Nicholson of Mesa, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Frances Webb
COLORADO CITY -- Frances Webb, 86, lifelong Mitchell County resident, died Friday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Colorado City Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Northcutt officiating, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Webb was born in Mitchell County and attended school in Colorado City. She married Foy O. Webb in 1930 and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Janis Baker of Graham; one sister, Mary Jay of Marysville, Wash.; and nine grandchildren.

Margaret 'Doll' Guy
WINTERS -- Margaret R. "Doll" Guy, 75, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday in Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Mount Carmel Catholic Church with the Rev. Sam Homsey officiating. Burial will be in Wingate Cemetery.
Mrs. Guy was born in Wingate, where she graduated from high school, and worked as a secretary for her father, Dr. John Barron, in his medical practice. She was a Catholic and was the widow of J.B. Guy Sr., whom she married in 1938 in Ballinger.
Survivors include one son, J.B. Guy Jr. of Winters; three daughters, Margaret Ellen DeMarco of Odessa, and Mary Ramille Hollis and Elizabeth Ann Stewart, both of Ballinger; one sister, Jean McElfatrick of Tyler; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pete Ford
EARLY -- Pete Ford, 57, formerly of Brown County, died Wednesday.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oakland Cemetery with Rueben Packer officiating, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Survivors include two sons, Blaine Ford and Bryan Ford, both of Burleson; two daughters, Chrissy Dawson of Brownwood and Cherri Ford of Amarillo; one brother, Jerry Ford of Friendswood; one sister, Myrna Sponhauer of Oregon; and two grandchildren.

Imogene Sutterfield
Imogene Sutterfield, 75, died Friday in a local hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Abilene First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Leyerle officiating. Graveside services will be private, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South.
Mrs. Sutterfield was born in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High School in 1941. She married T. Burton Sutterfield in 1942 in Oklahoma City. She attended North Harris Community College in Houston and American Institute of Banking. She worked in the banking industry for many years until retiring in 1987 from the River Oaks branch of First National Bank. She was a member of the Coed Class of the Adult 2 Department and sang in the senior adult choir, The Majestic Sounds, at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two daughters, Paula Thieleman of Houston and Pam Bingham of Abilene; one son, Kirby Sutterfield of Abilene; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene 79604.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today in the funeral home.
