ELGIN EDGAR SHELBURN
BURNET -- Elgin Edgar Shelburn, age 75, of Burnet, Texas, died on Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999. He was born on Dec. 17, 1923, in Lake Victor, Texas, to Edgar and Mattie Griffin Shelburn.
He was a retired rancher and farmer, retired from the Burnet County Sheriff Department, he had served as chief of police for the city of Burnet and had worked for the Texas Department of Corrections. He was a member of the Valley Lodge 175 AF&AM in Burnet, Tex., for over 50 years and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Jimsey Shelburn of Burnet, Tex.; daughter Phyllis Shelburn and husband Jerry Elliff of Round Rock, Texas; two sons, Richard and wife Carolyn Shelburn of Abilene, Tex., and Randy Shelburn of Burnet, Tex.; two brothers, Donald and wife Jean Shelburn of Burnet and Gerald and wife Judy Shelburn of Burnet, Tex.; six grandchildren, Seth Shelburn, Sara Shelburn, Matthew Wiederaenders, Holly Elliff, Stacy Stewart and Tiffani Payne; nephew Corky Hodges of Burnet, Tex.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, a 2:00 PM at the Edgar Funeral Home with Darrell Debo officiating with burial in the Cauble Cemetery near Lake Victor, Texas.

Garland Dooley
Garland B. Dooley, 73, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at College View Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Burrow officiating. Burial will be in Nienda Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Dooley was born in Greenville and moved to Abilene from Clifton. He was in food service and had been employed by Tesco Equipment Co. for 25 years. He also worked for Hardin-Simmons University and H-E-B Grocery. He was a member of College View Baptist Church. He married Maxine Williams in 1988 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Bob Dooley of Abilene; three daughters, Barbara Shirley of Abilene, Brenda Evans of Longview and Betty McGinty of San Angelo; one brother, George Dooley of Log Cabin; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Frank (Estelle) Aycock
Mrs. Frank E. (Estelle) Aycock, 82, retired owner of Estelle's Beauty Shop, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco with the Rev. Stan Allcorn and Dr. Mike Stedham officiating.
Mrs. Aycock was born in Cisco and graduated from Cisco High School and Parson's Beauty School in Abilene. She grew up in Cisco and moved to Abilene from Anson in 1956. She also lived in San Angelo briefly. She was a self-employed beautician for 47 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Frank E. Aycock in 1938 in Cisco; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Frank Edward Aycock Jr. and Fred Bint Aycock, both of Abilene; one brother, Arlin Bint of Cisco; and three grandchildren.

Lee Oletha Elder
WINTERS -- Lee Oletha Elder, 98, of San Antonio and formerly of Winters, died Wednesday in Phoenix, Ariz.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Elder was born in Montgomery County and moved to Runnels County in 1914, where she lived until 1990. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married John Freeman Elder Sr. in 1919 in Winters; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, John Freeman Elder Jr. of Spiro, Okla., and Joe Elder of Bryan; two daughters, Johnnie Davenport of San Antonio and Lois Mozelle Lahm of Ajo, Ariz.; two sisters, Opal Wheeles of Abilene and Billie DeFoyd of Odessa; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

W.H. 'Bill' Eyssen Jr.
FORT WORTH -- W.H. "Bill" Eyssen Jr., 83, who practiced law in Hamlin for a number of years, died Saturday in Fort Worth.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with the Revs. Keith Burns and Gayland Poole officiating. Entombment will be in Greenwood Mausoleum, directed by Greenwood Funeral Home.
Mr. Eyssen was born in Independence, Kan., and moved to Fort Worth as a child. He graduated from Central High School and attended Texas Christian University. He graduated from the University of Texas law school in 1939 and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was counsel for Texas Natural Gasoline Corporation in Tulsa, Okla. He moved to Big Spring in 1959, where he was corporation court judge and county attorney. He retired in 1977 and returned to Fort Worth. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Breakfast Club, Westside Kiwanis Club, the State Bar of Texas and the Tarrant County Bar, Kappa Alpha Fraternity and Petroleum Club.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothea Eyssen of Fort Worth; four daughters, Amy Arnold of Waco, Helen Eyssen of Seattle, Wash., Louisa Hocutt of Sacramento, Calif., and Martha Eyssen of Fort Worth; one brother, Timothy Eyssen of Abilene; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Union Gospel Mission.

R.L. Kellar Jr.
EASTLAND -- R.L. Kellar Jr., 69, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bakker Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ray Garrett and Benny Hagan officiating. Burial will be in Eastland Cemetery.
Mr. Kellar was born in McCullough County and lived in Santo before moving to Eastland. He was a Baptist. He married Bobbie Richards in 1947 in Lockney.
Survivors include his wife, of Eastland; three sons, Billy Ray Kellar of Carthage, Wesley Don Kellar of Memphis, Tenn., and Robert Kellar of Santo; two brothers, Olen Kellar of Eastland and Clinton Kellar of Morton Valley; and three sisters, Ollie Woodman of Gould, Okla., Dollie Simmons of Cisco and Altha McCormick of Eastland.

Gene Wheeler
SWEETWATER -- Gene Wheeler, 72, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m Tuesday at Lamar Street Church of Christ with Larry Fluitt and Bill Lightfoot officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories, directed by Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Mr. Wheeler was born in Wilmeth and was a dispatcher for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II and an Army veteran. He was a member, deacon and Sunday school coordinator at Lamar Street Church of Christ. He married Frances Irene Yandell in 1949 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife, of Sweetwater; one son, Ranny Wheeler of Sweetwater; one daughter, Carla Sable of Borger; one sister, Betty Thomason of Winters; one brother, J.O. Wheeler of Plainview; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. S.C. (Jewell) Guthrie Sr.
BROWNWOOD -- Mrs. S.C. (Jewell) Guthrie Sr., 91, of Temple and formerly of Brown County, died Saturday at a Belton nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Eastlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. John Beckling officiating, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Guthrie was born in Lott and lived in Brown County from 1945-1987. She lived in Temple and Belton after leaving Brown County. She was a homemaker and formerly co-owned Guthrie Oil Company. She was a former member of Central United Methodist and Zephyr United Methodist churches and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Temple. She married S.C. Guthrie in 1928 in Fort Worth; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Sam Guthrie of Temple; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Vera Alba Ladd Holloway
BROWNWOOD -- Vera Alba Ladd Holloway, 87, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dan Wright officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hart Cemetery in Hart, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holloway was born in Grady City, Okla., and had lived in Hart before moving to Brownwood in 1982. She was a seamstress for 51 years and a member of First Church of the Nazarene and Eastern Star. She married John Holloway in 1932 in Comanche; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Harley Holloway of Brownwood, James Holloway of DeLeon and John Holloway of Austin; one daughter, Patsy McAdams of Sonora, Calif.; two brothers, Charlie Ladd and Ray Ladd, both of Dallas; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Donald Bullard
Donald W. Bullard, 63, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at North 5th and Grape Streets Church of Christ with Royce Williamson and Bob Kiser officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Bullard was born in Alba and graduated from high school in Lamesa. He moved to Abilene from Fort Worth in 1978 and was retired. He was a member of North 5th and Grape Streets Church of Christ. He married Bettye Young in 1961 in Lovington, N.M.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Ross Bullard of Miami, Tex., and Dennis Bullard of Irvine, Calif.; one daughter, Donieta O'Keeffe of Brackettville; his mother, Lena McCollum Bullard of Colorado City; two brothers, Norris Bullard of Arlington and Larry Bullard of Seguin; and five grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
