Ruth Pickett
CROSS PLAINS -- Ruth Pickett, 82, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Pipes officiating. Burial will be in Cross Cut Cemetery.
Mrs. Pickett was born in Brown County and was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was the widow of James McNealy Pickett.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Pickett of Brady; one son, Jimmie Pickett of Cisco; three brothers, D.B. Gunn of Cross Plains, Paul Gunn of Hobbs, N.M., and James Gunn of Waco; one sister, Eva Patton of Odessa; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Earnest Curb
GORMAN -- Earnest L. Curb, 94, died Monday at an Eastland hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Watson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery north of Gorman.
Mr. Curb was born in Mills County and graduated from Howard Payne University with a teaching degree. He taught at Duster, Comanche and Gorman and was Comanche city secretary for several years. He retired from Southwest Peanut Growers Association in 1969 and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He married Mary Underwood in 1927 in Sipe Springs; she preceded him in death.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Oswald Kieke
STAMFORD -- Oswald W. Kieke, 85, died Monday at a Haskell nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton with the Rev. Jeff Zell officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, directed by Tankersley Funeral Home.
Mr. Kieke was born in Haskell County and lived in the Haskell-Jones County area all his life. He was a retired farmer and a Lutheran. He married Pauline Kittley in 1937 in Stamford.
Survivors include his wife, of Stamford, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Jim Wyatt
Jim Wyatt, 60, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South, with Billy Sellers officiating.
Mr. Wyatt was born in Carbon and grew up in Eastland County. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps and moved to Abilene in 1962 from Eastland County. He worked as a substation construction foreman for West Texas Utilities for 32 years until retiring. He married Deanna Greene in 1994 in Abilene and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, 1st Lt. Charles Darron Wyatt of Willingboro, N.J.; one daughter, Vicki Wyatt of Abilene; his mother, Lorene Wyatt of Olney; one sister, Wanda McDaniel of Olney; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Lloyd Davis
Lloyd L. Davis, 84, formerly of Haskell, died Monday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Willow Cemetery in Haskell with Dale Huff officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Davis was born in Thaxon, Okla., and grew up in Haskell. He married Rosie Lee Green in 1935 in Haskell. He moved to Abilene in 1948 and worked as a pipefitter for 55 years. He was a former business manager of Pipefitters Union 654 in Abilene and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Tim L. Davis of Abilene; two brothers, Ottie Joe Davis of Abilene and Billy Vern Davis of Denton; one sister, Velma Self of Houston; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Cotis Coleman
Cotis Coleman, 84, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Ash Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Walker officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Mr. Coleman was born in Nacogdoches, where he attended school, and worked at a rock mill until retiring. He also was a Baptist minister. He moved to Abilene about seven years ago and was a member of Ash Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Coleman of Abilene; one son, Henry Grady Coleman of Abilene; five daughters, Alice Moore and Dolores Glover, both of Abilene, Fannie Cameron and Evelyn Evans, both of San Antonio, and Vivian Coleman of Houston; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; and many other cousins and relatives.
Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Floy Mae Anglin Cantu
Floy Mae Anglin Cantu, 76, died Tuesday at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Louis Johnson officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Cantu was born in Sulphur Springs and graduated from Greenville High School. She moved to Abilene in 1952 from Fort Worth. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile and North Park Baptist Church. She was the widow of Tom Anglin, whom she married in 1944 in Fort Worth; and John Cantu, whom she married in Abilene.
Survivors include two daughters, Janette Smith of Ovalo and Delores Cargile of Abilene; one sister, Beatrice Roy of Greenville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Floyd Garcia Sr.
ROTAN -- Floyd Garcia Sr., 69, died Monday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Rotan First Baptist Church with the Revs. Werth Mayes and Loren Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Rotan Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mr. Garcia was born in Melvin, Texas, and moved to Fisher County in 1935 from Doole. He married Frances Balerio in 1947 in Rotan and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Farm Bureau and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Rotan; four sons, Floyd Garcia Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Pete Garcia of Rotan, and Frank Garcia and Manuel Garcia, both of Snyder; two brothers, Felix Garcia of Abilene and Alex Garcia of Fort Worth; two sisters, Teresa Cabrera of Ballinger and Frances Balerio of Midland; one half-sister, Trina Flores of San Antonio; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one step great-grandchild.

Ada Ellen Knox Carey
BRECKENRIDGE -- Ada Ellen Knox Carey, 82, of Mineral Wells and formerly of Breckenridge, died Monday at her home.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Breckenridge First Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Heavins and Cecil Harper officiating, directed by Melton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carey was born in Stephens County and lived in Breckenridge for many years. She married Robert Vanno Carey in 1935 in Archer City. She also lived at Possum Kingdom Lake and Weatherford. She was a former member of the Woman's Club and Woman's Forum. She was a member of Westlake Chapel at Possum Kingdom Lake, and Breckenridge First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Mineral Wells; three daughters, Jean Hensley of Mineral Wells, Ann Costilow of Austin and Betsy Pedigo of Aledo; three sons, Dick Carey of Granbury, Rex Carey of Eugene, Ore., and Kent Carey of Breckenridge; one sister, Rubye Knox Humble of Mineral Wells; 15 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in Breckenridge or Mineral Wells or a favorite charity and left at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
