Cleo Dickson
ROBY -- Cleo Dickson, 87, died Monday in a Rotan hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Roby First Baptist Church with the Revs. Henry Dickson and Mickey Waggoner officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mrs. Dickson was born in Purdon and moved to Fisher County in 1949. She was a retired cafe cook. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of Cassie Bill Dickson, whom she married in 1932 in Corsicana.
Survivors include five sons, Lawrence Dickson of Rotan, Henry Dickson and Billy Ray Dickson, both of Hawley, E.D. Dickson of Sweetwater and Thomas Dickson of Roby; two daughters, Rosemary Donham of Roby and Barbara Rogers of Odessa; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy King Black
ALBANY -- Dorothy King Black, 78, died Sunday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alec Ream officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.
Ms. Black was born in Albany, where she graduated from high school, and worked as a realtor. She was a secretary for the Albany Chamber of Commerce in 1990-91. She was a docent of the Old Jail Art Museum and was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one niece, Sandra Kay Shaner of Alpharetta, Ga.; and one cousin, Marianne Harris Anderson of Bessemer, Ala.

Fern Finley
COLORADO CITY -- Fern Finley, 83, lifelong Mitchell County resident, died Monday in a Sweetwater care center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Alvin Jennings and Kerry Cain officiating.
Mrs. Finley was born in Trent and was a homemaker. She was a member of Landers Home Demonstration Club, Athenian Study Club and 22nd and Austin Streets Church of Christ. She was the widow of Thomas Lester Finley, whom she married in 1936 in Landers.
Survivors include one son, Landus Finley of Colorado City; one daughter, Juanell Cole of Denver; two sisters, Dorene Walding of Peoria, Ariz., and Ruby Jarrett of Midland; two brothers, Otis Adrian of La Junta, Colo., and Donald Adrian of Petersburg; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Boles Children's Home in Quinlan.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Nina Mae Rasberry Hale
Nina Mae Rasberry Hale, 103, died Saturday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Henry Speck and Eddie Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hale was born in Merkel and attended school in Fisher County. She was a homemaker and moved to Abilene in 1937 from Roby. She was a member of the former Central Church of Christ and was the widow of George Jackson Hale, whom she married in 1915 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Hale of Abilene and Jim Hale of Roby; one daughter, Wanda Mae Knight Douglass of Midland; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Sears Methodist Retirement Center, 3202 S. Willis, Abilene 79605; or a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Gerald 'Jerry' Cunningham
Gerald "Jerry" Cunningham, 46, died Sunday at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mr. Cunningham was born in Minneapolis and married Vickie Mapes in 1997. He worked at Little Vegas.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; his mother, Barbara Cunningham of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Geoffrey R. Cunningham and Jonathan Cunningham, both of Minnesota; and three sisters, Valerie B. Cunningham of Minnesota, Nancy J. Cunningham of Corpus Christi and Cynthia C. Owens of New Braunfels.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Hubert 'Chunk' Fennell
Hubert W. "Chunk" Fennell, 86, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in North's Funeral Home Chapel, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road, with the Rev. Archie Echols officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Fennell was born in Decatur and grew up in Soper, Okla. He married Cleo Irene Fergeson in 1931 in Hugo, Okla. He farmed in Oklahoma until 1950 when he moved to Willard, Mo. He then operated a dairy farm for three years. He worked for the Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City, Kan. for 23 years until retiring in 1976. He then moved to Abilene from Kansas City. He was a volunteer at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and was a member of Rose Park Senior Citizens, Rose Park Ramblers, Rose Park Dancers, and the Willard Methodist Church in Willard, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Phillip Fennell of Springfield, Mo.; three daughters, Lajoy Thackerson and Mary Price, both of Abilene, and Maxine Graham of Vallient, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Cotis Coleman
Cotis Coleman, 84, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Valley View Baptist Church with the Rev. Andrew Penns officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Mr. Coleman was born in Nacogdoches, where he attended school, and worked at a rock mill until retiring. He also was a Baptist minister. He moved to Abilene about seven years ago and was a member of Ash Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Coleman of Abilene; one son, Henry Grady Coleman of Abilene; five daughters, Alice Moore and Dolores Glover, both of Abilene, Fannie Cameron and Evelyn Evans, both of San Antonio, and Vivian Coleman of Houston; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; and many other cousins and relatives.

Hazel Verner England
EL PASO -- Hazel Verner (Mrs. Byron) England, 94, formerly of Abilene, died Nov. 13.
A memorial service was held Saturday in Manhattan Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. England was born near Santa Anna and graduated from Daniel Baker College in Brownwood and the University of Texas. She taught school for 40 years until retiring. She also lived in El Paso and Galveston before moving to Florida in 1976. She was a member of and formerly taught an adult Bible class at Manhattan Presbyterian Church in El Paso, and was the widow of Byron England, whom she married in 1925 in El Paso.
Survivors include one son, John England of Rockledge, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one nephew and six nieces, including Mary Pritchett of Abilene.

Amy Elizabeth Dean
LAWN -- Amy Elizabeth Dean, 91, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Lawn First Baptist Church with the Rev. Price Mathieson officiating. Burial will be in Dewey Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Mrs. Dean was born near Lawn in Taylor County and graduated from Ovalo High School in 1924. She worked as a cook at the Abilene State School and moved to Lawn in 1966. She was a member of Lawn Senior Citizens and First Baptist Church, and was the widow of Elton A. Dean, whom she married in 1925 in Ovalo.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Hendrix of Shore Acres, Texas, and Melba Louise Newberry of Alvin; one son, Elton Ray Dean of Dumas; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
