Thomas Henry Fry
DALLAS -- Thomas Henry Fry, 42, relative of three Abilene residents, died Tuesday in Garland.
Services will be at noon Saturday in Restland Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.
Mr. Fry was born in McKees Rock, Pa., and graduated from Angelo State University. He was a director of the Spina Bifida Association in Dallas and was a member of Garland Evening Lions Club and Jupiter Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kristina Fry; two sons, Jacob Fry and Alan Fry; his parents, Charles and Eleanor Fry of Abilene; one sister, Susan Nunn of Arlington; one brother, Roy Fry of Abilene; and many other relatives.

Jesse Pauline Boswell Bowen
BURLESON -- Jesse Pauline Boswell Bowen, 85, formerly of May, died Tuesday in Burleson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Winscott Road Funeral Home Chapel in Benbrook. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Mrs. Bowen was born in May and moved to Burleson in 1947. She was a retired office manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was the widow of George Samuel Boswell Jr.
Survivors include her husband, A.J. Bowen of Burleson; one daughter, Diana Sue Lynch of Burleson; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Florene Currin
BROWNWOOD -- Florene Currin, 80, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Brownwood First Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Currin was born in Belton County and married William Walter Currin in 1933 in Sulphur Springs. She moved to Brownwood in 1968. She taught school in Brownwood and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Brownwood; one son, William Craig Currin of Humble; two daughters, Marilyn K. Peek of Brownwood and Brenda Sue Vaughn of Graceville, Fla.; one brother, Billy Hollowell of Waco; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Michael Anthony 'Tony' Winn
Michael Anthony "Tony" Winn, 38, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with John Risse officiating.
Mr. Winn was born in Lubbock, where he graduated from high school, and married Susan Stanson in 1983 in Crystal City. He moved to Abilene in 1995 from Colorado. He worked as a disc jockey and was known as radio personality Tony Roberts on Cumulus Broadcasting's Power 103.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Jennifer Michele Winn and Kathryn "Katy" Christina Winn, both of Abilene; two brothers, Carl "Bud" Winn of Texas City and Shirley Lee Winn of Garland.

Luther Pat Hollingshead
Luther Pat Hollingshead, 89, of Potosi, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd, with the Rev. Mark Searcy officiating. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery.
Mr. Hollingshead was born in Kent County and lived in Potosi for many years. He was a retired shoe department manager of Gibson's Department Store. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church in Abilene and was the widower of Lucille Key Hollingshead, whom he married in 1929.
Survivors include one son, Gary Hollingshead of Potosi; two daughters, Mildred Liles and Hattie Searcy, both of Potosi; one sister, Bea Cook of Lawn; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Edwin Balfanz
Edwin C. Balfanz, 82, of Austin and formerly of Abilene, died Thursday in a Temple hospital.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Desmond Obi officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Balfanz was born in Temple and attended Abilene High School and the University of Texas. He was a World War II veteran. He was a former housing construction advisor for the Agency of International Development. He was a partner, general manager, president and engineer with Balfanz Construction Co. in Abilene. He helped oversee construction of the West Texas Utilities Co. building, Masonic Temple, First Baptist Church educational building, Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home's Chapel of Memories, the Montgomery Ward building downtown, Minter's Department Store, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Graybar building. In addition, the business built buildings at Hardin-Simmons and Abilene Christian universities, and Dyess Air Force Base.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Balfanz of Austin; two daughters, Barbara Balfanz Reid of Tulsa, Okla., and Sharon Cox Moore of Austin; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Norma Horn Boyd
Norma R. Horn Boyd, 60, lifelong Abilene resident, died Saturday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Ash Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Walker officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, directed by Curtis-Starks Funeral Home, 542 E.N. 7th.
Ms. Boyd was born in Abilene and was a domestic worker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Jackie Reynolds of California; two brothers, Lawrence Horn of Mississippi and M.L. Horn of Texas; two grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will be at 449 Lancaster.

Margaret Aldrich
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Margaret L. Aldrich, 71, formerly of Abilene, died Monday at her home after a long illness.
Services will be private in New London, Mo.
Mrs. Aldrich was born in Corsicana, Texas, and formerly lived in Missouri. She was the widow of Lyndall P. Aldrich.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Ferguson and Patty Seaton, both of Tucson; two sons, Dick Aldrich of Panama and Ray Aldrich of Minnesota; one sister, Billie Joyce East of Texas; one half-brother and five half-sisters; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice Family Care, Catalina United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.

Dr. John Paul Puckett
LAMESA -- Dr. John Paul Puckett, 73, of Odessa, father of an Abilene resident, died Tuesday in an Odessa hospital.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Lamesa First United Methodist Church, directed by Branon Funeral Home.
Dr. Puckett was born in Hartselle, Ala., and graduated from Morgan County High School in 1943. He then joined the U.S. Navy. He married Wilmath C. "Mimi" Groover in 1946 and graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in 1949. He served an internship at Naval Hospital in Long Beach, Calif. He was a medical officer aboard the USS Valley Forge during the Korean War. He operated a medical practice in Lamesa from 1954 until retiring in 1984. He married Modelle Warren in 1976 in Lamesa and practiced medicine in Odessa since 1989.
Survivors include his wife, of Alpine; three sons, John P. Puckett Jr. of Horseshoe Bay, Joe W. Puckett of Hobbs, N.M., and Jim Tom Puckett of Lubbock; three daughters, Libby Martin of Abilene, Lee Beaty of Lamesa and Holly Ulery of Austin; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to the Children's Orthopedic Center at Texas Tech University Health Science Center or American Cancer Society.
