Jerry Faltys
EARLY -- Jerry Faltys, 60, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Early First Baptist Church with Jim Hall officiating. Burial will be in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home.
Mr. Faltys was born in Clarkson, Neb., and served with the U.S. Air Force. He married Esther Thorne in 1958 in Temple and moved to Brown County in 1965 from Columbus, Neb. He worked as a maintenance director for the Early school district. He was a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ in Brownwood.
Survivors include his wife, of Early; one son, David Faltys of Bryan; one daughter, Cheryl Trigg of Early; two sisters, Elaine Brown of Leigh, Neb., and Jerane Figgner of Freemont, Neb.; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

Jane McNeely
Jane (Mrs. Donald) McNeely, 68, cafeteria manager for the Abilene school district for 31 years until retiring, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with the Revs. Stan Allcorn and Jack Ridlehoover officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. McNeely was born in Sweetwater, where she graduated from high school, and moved to Abilene in 1934. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church and was the widow of Donald McNeely.
Survivors include two sons, Larry McNeely of San Saba and David McNeely of Caldwell; two daughters, Ginger Fisher and Cheryl DeLeon, both of Abilene; four brothers, Walter King of Abilene, and Bill King, Jack King and John King, all of Lubbock; one sister, Marie Maxwell of Abilene; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Pioneer Drive Baptist Church Building Fund, 701 S. Pioneer, Abilene 79605.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Evelyn Grebel
Evelyn M. Grebel, 89, formerly of Grand Rapids, Mich., died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Rosedale Memorial Park in Grand Rapids, Mich. with the Rev. Tom Flickinger officiating, directed by Cook Funeral Home of Grandville, Mich. Local arrangements are being made by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Ms. Grebel was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., and graduated from high school in Rockford, Mich. in 1926. She attended Michigan State University in East Lansing and graduated in 1943 from Gail Business College. She worked as a curator of education for the city of Grand Rapids, Mich. for 32 years. She moved to Abilene in 1978 and was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Survivors include one brother, Robert J. Grebel of Holland, Mich.; two sisters, Mildred Rowley of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Marian Myers of Wyoming, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Memorials may be sent to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Friday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.

Clara Brewer Kennedy Sargis
Clara T. Brewer Kennedy Sargis, 93, who helped develop Thornton's Department stores, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Dr. Ray Ellis and the Rev. Barry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Sargis was born in Merkel and graduated from Hawley High School. She attended Simmons College and McMurry College. She moved to Abilene more than 50 years ago. She was an office and credit manager, and corporate secretary of Thornton's for 32 years. She was a member and past president of Business and Professional Women's Club and was a charter member of the Porcelain Art League of Abilene and Big Country Porcelain Art Guild. She also was a member of Abilene Garden Club and Amigas Sunday School Class at Abilene First Baptist Church. She was the widow of W. Dick Kennedy and Dr. Robert T. Sargis.
Survivors include eight nieces and three nephews.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 85, Abilene 79604; or a favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Loy Lilly
Loy Lilly, 65, night press supervisor at the Abilene Reporter-News for 25 years, died Monday in Arlington.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Church of Christ with Robert Musgrove, Phil Slate and J.F. Lilly officiating. Burial will be in Hamby Cemetery, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Lilly was born in Hamby and grew up in the Abilene area. He married Jean Robbins in 1976 in Abilene. He also worked as a truck driver for NuCorp, U.S. Gypsum, Abtex, Celadon and Caudle Co. for many years. He was employed by Toys R Us for the past seven years and was a former member of Euless Church of Christ. He was a member of Woodlawn Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Loy Dean Lilly of Abilene and Howard Lilly of Seattle; one daughter, Angela Damme of Arlington; six stepsons, James Carithers of Grand Prairie, Mark Davis, Bryan Davis and Donald Davis, all of Abilene, Charles Michael Davis of Lewisville and Todd Davis of San Angelo; one brother, C.O. Lilly of Abilene; six sisters, Flora Yawn, Donna Ramos and Dorothy Bullard, all of Clyde, Olivia Wood of Lawn, and Frances Copher and Brenda Lathrop, both of Abilene; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 13 step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Emilio Martinez
Emilio Martinez, 83, died Tuesday at his home.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 South. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Martinez was born in Kent County and grew up in Fisher County. He served in the U.S. Army and received a silver star and two Purple hearts. He married Mary Ramirez in 1948 in Rotan. He was a dairy farmer in Rotan for several years and moved to Abilene in 1985. He worked in security for Pinkerton's for three years and Goodwill Industries. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and also was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 36; Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 1937; and St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Kenny Martinez of Arlington, A.J. Martinez of Fort Worth and Matthew Martinez of Austin; six daughters, Ana Martinez of Anchorage, Alaska, Isabel Hesson of Juneau, Alaska, Barbara Zekus of Topeka, Kan., Patricia Martinez of Brisbane, Australia, June Brown of Amarillo and Nancy Martinez of Abilene; one brother, Alex Martinez of Keene, N.H.; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Ruth Gilliland
FLOYDADA -- Ruth V. Gilliland, 76, mother of an Abilene resident, died Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Floydada First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy McGuire and Anthony Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery, directed by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gilliland was born in Cooperstown, Okla., and attended school in Oklahoma and Arizona. She moved to Floyd County in 1940 from Chandler, Ariz. She was a homemaker and was a former member of Rebecca Lodge. She was a member of Floydada Senior Citizens and First Baptist Church, and was the widow of Levis B. Gilliland, whom she married in 1941 in Floydada.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Gilliland of Abilene, and Butch Gilliland and Bobby Gilliland, both of Floydada; five brothers, Bud Vickers and Bob Vickers, both of Lubbock, Stan Vickers of Perryton, Rannie Vickers of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Don Vickers of Floydada; four sisters, Juanita Stoeser of Hayes, S.D., Sammie McCullough of Amarillo, Frances James of Parkton, N.C., and Gayle Scott of Tulia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Weldon Lee Watts
CLYDE -- Weldon Lee Watts, 38, died Tuesday from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clyde First Baptist Church with Sam Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Hamby Cemetery, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Watts was born in Abilene and moved to Clyde in 1975 from Bloomfield, N.M. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1978. He married Debbie Young in 1979 in Clyde and worked for Halliburton for 18-1/2 years. He was a volunteer firefighter and was active in Project Graduation. He was a member of Clyde Livestock Association, Athletic Booster Club and Trinity Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Clyde; one son, Clint Watts of Clyde; one daughter, Melissa Watts of Clyde; his mother, Faye Watts of Clyde; two brothers, Ray Tobias of Midland and Wesley Jennings of San Antonio; two sisters, Brenda Pilham of Snohomish, Wash., and Janice Reynolds of Burnet; and his grandmother, Fern Watts of Clyde.
